Been tidying my rooms and repacking all the craft stuff that I dragged out while looking for gold thread, big needle and glittery beads to finish present. I must label boxes to give me a clue what's in there as required item is always in box 7! Can now pack, weigh and post it tomorrow. The one posted 9th Dec is still stuck in Frankfurt Customs.
Bought pies for mum and I but she didn't fancy it now or ever so I've had 1 tonight and the other later this week. Not keen on it either. Used up sweet potato and Brussels sprouts.
Flasks sterilized and ready for work tomorrow. Soup is out of the freezer defrosting. Bought new loaf and bananas.
Bought chocs and card for friend's birthday tomorrow and delivered them tonight as i'm at work. Nice to see her and chat for 5 mins. Got 3 birthdays between now and Friday so expensive week.
On the way home got to drop off a meal my mum has made for my niece and toddler who have covid. I'll put it on the door mat. The request was for cheese and potato pie and rock cakes! At least i can pinch a rock cake for teabreak at work. Yum.

NSD#3 nearly spent 30p on ys yogurts, but my friend treated me as I'd left my purse at home & she refused r@mothernerd
Good luck tomorrow @ditty1234. A good book to make children (&:adults) laugh @cybertortoise is The Person Controller by David Baddiel, you should find it in your local library. Hugs Abundant & @mothernerd.
Started out well this morning. Stripped chicken off the carcass & made stock, whilst it was simmering, I took down all the decorations. Made the stock into a sort of scotch broth, quite tasty. Neighbour phoned for an hour, got all boxes out the shed & packed all the decorations away, then returned to the shed. Put on a dvd this afternoon & did some knitting. Dvd can go in CS bag now. Friend picked me up after tea & we battled through the wind with her daughters, to look at some Christmas lights. A nice time had by all.
Grateful for the living room looking tidier & more spacious, my friend informing me that all council staff will be getting a payrise backdated to April & might be in this month's paypacket 😃, laughing with my neighbourUse it up, wear it out

Thank you everyone 🤗 regarding Mum x
Quick update from today. After going through cupboards/fridge - I realised I didn't have any milk and I can't face my day with black tea or day after day of black coffee. So - I made a decision to get milk - but stocked up on long life so less shopping trips needed, and whilst I was spending, bought a load of eggs, tuna and a loaf for the freezer. Now am definitely good to go for the next week at least. Honest guv!!! 👼🏻
Think I am going to start doing my gratitude practice here too, as it will be another hook to get me signing in daily and developing a new habit.
Today I am grateful for:
1) My sister and everything she does for Mum/our family
2) My brother for trying his best in difficult circumstances with his job
3) My Mum, Dad and extended family for happy times over the years
Night all x⭐ DEBT FREE : 18/02/2025 ⭐

NSD 3, hospital said mum had been stable all day. I slept lots (good gentle sleep, don't think it's 'avoiding things' sleep), just all the strain of recent weeks floating away - nothing I can do about the situation (not even allowed out until Thursday) so just doing what I can (one wash load out, one in), meals from leftovers - bacon, med veg and cheesecake, filling rubbish and recycling bags, moving bags to be unpacked one at a time.
Grateful for pleasant and cheerful nurses, not being on hold for ages, lovely food (veg were > a week ood).My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage8 -
Bit anxious about work tomorrow.
Got a new manager who I think will probably be awful - I know I shouldn't prejudge but I have been doing this job too long now not to think the worst!
Grateful for moving small bun outside this holiday post spay op, making a dent in the mess in the house, really thinking about what I am doing, getting nice presents. Talking to mum about some stuff and standing up for myself, the twinkly lights Mothernerd suggested I put up, the dogs and my other pets, the Henry hoover, my electric blanket.
XXXXNevertheless she persisted.9 -
The nurse phoned to tell me my mother passed away in the night. I will be around but if I disappear for a day or two you know why. Bereavement officer will be contacting me probably tomorrow and then I will know how to proceed. Have notified my sons, my niece (DS3 is in contact with my younger niece so he's let her know). My brother won't be awake yet so niece will let him know.
Phoned mum's cousin (she will tell her children and the other 2 remaining cousins). Left a message for my cousin to phone me back (her sister is technically the eldest but she's also ill, very vulnerable). She will also have phone numbers for all my cousins. Any other numbers are in my mum's phone book, so will be heading back there soon. Deal with some of the practical stuff (like getting 5 day old washing out of the machine). The only things people have asked for so far are photographs (I asked them, they aren't insensitive morons) the rest is just stuff. What don't I need - more stuff.
Grateful for my mother's life and that we managed to spend so much of it together especially in the last 4 years (nearly 5). l am glad that her passing was peaceful and in accordance with her wishes. Digging deep for maturity and grace to deal with the coming weeks. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage12 -

Oh So sorry to hear Mothernerd hope you're alright. Look after yourself. RIP Mothenerd's mummy xxx Hugs xxMust be something in the air just seen one of my friends on fbook has passed away with cancer, he has been ill last 8 months but still shocks you. Jolly until the end making jokes from his hospital bed on fb.Well January looking bleak, started to hail here. Was determined to get a NSD today but booked a Washing machine repair for Thursday and now they want call out charge paid up front. Lovely local shop and had lots of trouble with people refusing to pay. Parted with £36. Could have used Bosch as still another few months under guarantee but firm they use, their feedback is frightful. Hopefully just a blockage in the pipe.Paid £55 off my ccard which is slightly high with shiny laptop being put onto it. Hope to clear it by next month. £10 into savings to round it up.Decided to transfer funds each month to another bank act for contactless payments, rather than add shopping, etc onto my ccard. All this talk of de cluttering and need to get active is getting me motivated. Will try not to slump on couch until done 1 or the other. Seen my humpy tummy this morning eek. Can't get motivated at work not long until I finish her 28th of this month and move onto pastures new.Grateful forActually having money in January and not being in debt.Warm office, ears defrosting.Having family nearby (Think xmas would have been very lonely otherwise)LBM 13039 1.1.13 Now £0 Finally Debt FreeMortgage free Oct 2019:)EFund/savings £25000 10/11/2210
