    Morning jwil

I’ve been reading your diary and thought I’d let you know about two people in my work recently been diagnosed with type 2. Both got really scared by the diagnosis and one a complete chocoholic. They have both lost over two stone in 12 weeks . Female worker (choc lover) went cold Turkey and didn’t eat any chocolate or cakes because she felt she couldn’t be trusted to only have one or small one. She eats rich tea biscuits with her tea.  Makes sure she eats a proper dinner now before it be couple bars choc. Doesn’t do any exercise or walking. The male worker swapped his biscuits for sugar free Gullion) think they’re called I see them in b&m. He also took up walking an hour n half everyday and ate smaller potion for dinner lunch ( used a smaller place). He was also constantly looking on the packaging of things he was buying to check sugar/carbs etc.
Male worker now has normal sugar levels (female worker not been for her check up yet)

After that long story what I was really trying to say is different things work for different people and only you know yourself what route would be easier for you to follow.

Well done on getting new comfortable trainers and hopefully you are enjoying walking more.

Your also doing great with your pads.

It’s really hard to fit everything in with working, running home and spending enough quality time with your kids.

I like your idea of catching up on your own personal projects with your Fridays off.

    Enjoy your Sunday.

Thank you parkyp, that's really positive and gives me hope I can do this!  It's also nice seeing people doing different things because if something doesn't work I can always take a different approach.

Have a good day yourself :)

You can do it jwil! I know it’s a shock but you know what works for you. I bet you make sure you have the time to make sure your children have a balanced diet & watch how much treaty food they eat? I decided last week that I needed to put myself up there with my DH & children & make time for me to have a balanced diet & try and apply the principles I do to stopping my boys eating too much chocolate. I also had gestational diabetes and have a big family history of it but I would like to defy the odds! So please make sure your health is top of the pile too - you deserve it! Xx

Thank you :)  Yes, you are right, I'd never let the kids replace a meal with chocolate!

Good luck jwil. I'm sure you can do it if you choose. I had a good two weeks on SW but have knowingly gone off track this week due to being side tracked by unconnected worries. I did find overnight oats and then salad with fish very filling... omelettes are good too. Sounds like you already have some go to SW foods

Some information I have benefited from lately.

The B vitamins made me think of you as they are depleted when we are under stress and you are so busy. Biotin (B7) is very good for our hair too, an added bonus. Magnesium might be helpful too.

I don't want to get into a debate on vitamins, so if it isn't for anyone who reads, that is fine. Just sharing in case it is helpful...it might be something you discuss with your GP?

    I take both of these.

Magnesium is one of our body’s most vital minerals. Magnesium helps control blood sugar and insulin levels and the hormone dopamine, making us feel good after eating sweets. Chocolate cravings are strong evidence of magnesium deficiency, as chocolate is a rich yet sweet source of magnesium.

For people who crave sweets and chocolates, 400 milligrams of good grade magnesium, such as magnesium citrate, should be consumed twice a day. It’s the best magnesium supplement for reducing sugar cravings.

Magnesium also has the additional advantage of aiding in a good night’s sleep, which is ideal during a sugar detox.

Hence, when the body craves something, it’s commonly thought to be a symptom of insufficiency; however, the challenging part is that the craving isn’t always for what we need. So, if anyone is craving chocolate, it could signify that they are deficient in magnesium.

B-vitamins aid in the digestion of carbohydrates, such as sugar. When we take sugary foods and other carbohydrates, our body’s B vitamin levels drop. They may help eliminate sugar cravings by maintaining proper amounts of B vitamins in the body.

Wishing you well. I'm sure you can do this  :)
