Also beware of GF foods @jwil as they can be very processed and high in sugar so really poor food for people with insulin resistance. I don't eat gluten and relatives and friends often treat me to very expensive gluten free foods and I feel so bad and embarrassed that I eat it!

The main downside is that the alternatives like gluten free bread / organic food for example are more expensive .

I'm really enjoying Jane Eyre, it's encouraging me to revisit some of the classics again."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee6 -
I’m in USA at min and am coeliac - the sandwich I bought today showed the calorie content - changing the ‘normal’ bread for GF bread added 250 calories ! People think GF means healthier but often to make it taste edible they have to add so much stuffSealed pot challenge 822

Don't feel bad about missing signs your DD might be displaying - and especially not if, as it sounds - she's displaying those signs in an environment that you're not part of.
I remember reading something a while ago which basically said that there's not a person on the planet who - if given a list of symptoms of ADSD/Asperger's type things, wouldn't identify with some of the things on that list - and that basically we're all on the spectrum somewhere, it's just a case of how much that affects normal daily life. I can't handle multiple sources of noise (so walking into someone's house and hearing a TV on in one room and a radio in another, for example) or things like a radio being ever so slightly out of tune at all, I've got a real aversion/issue with "soggy" foods (stuff that should be crunchy but isn't - cereal with milk makes me heave just at the sight of it) and I go through patches of time where I'm just ridiculously clumsy. All these things are pretty classic symptoms of non-neurotypical states in women as I understand it, but there's not anything that a "diagnosis" can do to realistically help with any of those things though, so for me it's a matter of simply knowing the triggers and honing my own coping mechanisms. (Or sometimes simply removing myself from a situation). For a child where it's affecting their ability to learn though, a diagnosis might be really helpful to access resources that could make learning easier for them though. It's very much "different strokes for different folks" I think.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

This week seems to be turning out pretty well work-wise. A very tedious meeting today which is normally 2 hours, was reduced to 30 mins, and I was meant to be travelling tomorrow to take part in some interviews and that's been postponed. Hurrah! It means I've had some time to catch up with things, and tomorrow I can go with my folks to see the house they're purchasing. All good
I've continued with my PADs and have sent some more survey money to the mortgage, plus a small lottery win.
I had a reply from the creditor that I told to mind their own business about my housing situation, and they have passed my offer on to the DCA. I also had a letter saying that the debt had been sold at the end of January, so it will be interesting to see whether the purchaser just wants to offload it (I'm sure they'll be making a profit) or whether they want to stick it out. I haven't heard anything back from the other creditor yet though.
We've had an endless stream of emails from school regarding trips, events and activities. I think my head is going to explode trying to remember it all!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I too cannot tolerate milk in cereal 🤮. One of my friends says I have similarities to my fussy food ways with his autistic son . He says I have "Texture issues" . I can't disagree with that .I do think we are all on the spectrum somewhere. I think so many of us are born intelligent but school / kids / wrong choice of friends etc through no fault of your own can knock the stuffing out of you . Plus nobody to help push you forward ( and not being able to afford much ), can also affect .I won't say much more ( I talk too much ) , but having children these days seems difficult .What toilet should they use etc? Meanwhile over in Ukraine ...
Sounds less tense / boring on the work front . Sounds a positive from one of the nosy creditors too .
I'll leave it there ..😼9 -
Another_casualty my parents thought I didn't like cereal when I was little - they were slightly mystified as regardless of which one they tried I seemed to dislike them all which seemed odd...then one day Mum caught me dipping into a box of plain dry cereal and munching away with relish I think - 2 + 2 was done and 4 - dislikes milk with it - arrived at. I'll sometimes have it with yogurt these days and love that, but if anything my aversion to milk "as it is" has got worse. Again - it's a textural thing - particularly with full-fat milk I dislike the way it feels slightly as though it's coating your mouth - I usually have a tiny splash of either skimmed of semi-skimmed in tea, but if the mug arrives with too much milk in I'm unlikely to do more than a polite sip! Beyond that there's very few foods I don't like, just a couple of things I *can't* eat but not that I "don't like" as such.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Thanks @EssexHebridean😼
we're not too unsimilar regarding milk / cereals / texture etc
In my most horrendous situation in infants school , " dinner ladies" forced me to have salads with mash which was hard and wasn't cooked properly etc 🤮.
The good news is that they are probably dead now . Some of the salad had caterpillar type things in them . I can still remember me sitting in the back of the classroom with other pupils in the infant school , and I saw my mum in the distance with her hands around 5he head priests throat. He had a reputation as being too strict . She never knew it was the " dinner ladies " that were causing me to bite my nails and fingers till there was swelling and green puss building up 🤮. Everything stopped after that , and I never had school dinners in that school again .I still detest spring onions , salad and most veg to this day .
Enough of that , I'm gonna have some green &blacks 🍫 😼7
