"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I'm all achey and uncomfortable so just having a relaxing day with my books. I have tidied through, but I am just wanting some silence and rest today to recharge. I nipped to Mr T this morning, and luckily while I was there remembered that little miss has a birthday party to go to so picked up a gift for that. Little jwil has swimming tonight, but I'm going to delegate the party and swimming for little miss tomorrow to DH this weekend, as I did the party and swimming last weekend.
Little jwil has had an invite to a sleepover party. He wants to go, and I shall let him, but it's a big step forward as he's never been away from us! I'm wondering if I should get him a basic phone so he could call and text if he wanted to (no internet or anything). Is that a good idea or am I just overthinking it? It's a spend I could do without, though I've seen one for £11 that would probably suit so not the end of the world.
Me and the kids are due to be in London next weekend for a day. That could be fun! I need to try and improve my knee before then so must look for a support that might fit. DH has said he'll pick me up from the office next week, so I can still get my walks in but slightly less intense.
I've sold an item so got that to post later. DH has sold loads this week which is good, if not annoying having to pack it all! The stack has definitely decreased, so that is definitely a good thing!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". As expected, it's the extras which work don't ask me to carry which are the issue - lunch/dinner, my notebook and pens, drinks bottle, a change of top as I get hot while walking, my phone, purse, a few toiletries to freshen up. I'm sure I'll be able to whittle it down, but the lighter bag should make a difference, and it will matter less as I get fitter.WinterWarrior said:I think a phone is a great idea, it will put your mind at rest even if he doesn’t have a care in the world."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done on the PADs. Try and avoid a camera phone... they can go wrong with those incredibly quickly...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Yes, It's just a basic calls and text only. No internet, no camera and cost me £11. Just need to sort a sim now.

I think I've found a knee support that might fit, so fingers crossed. I've also ordered the phone for little jwil, and a birthday gift for little miss's friend. I knew there was something else I wanted! A power bank for next weekend. My phone battery isn't great so I want to get a small one I can use to charge it if I need to.
I'm just chilling today. The new Stephen King book came out this week, and while I've dipped in so far, I'd like to get stuck in."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee3
