Husbands old jobs meant he wore grey cotton shirts and black trousers which he no longer needs and likely won’t wear again.

So anyone have any ideas what I can turn them into - they aren’t sentimental at all but I don’t want to waste them if I could make something practical or useful out of them
If you sew Peg bags, tote bags, hats maybe depending on the type of trouser fabric, makeup bags, pencil cases

Rag rug/wreath, dog toys if you don’t see maybe

i’ve added one more bit of quilt.

I’ve done another coat o spray on three frames. Found a load of mount Boards and two more frames and realise I may have a problem with the volume of them I have bought. I will have many pictures.  I need for plaster I’ll cover the walls myself. 😁😁

£89.92 / £250 spent so far. I bought another 6 picture frames at a car boot sale and one more picture.

i’ve bottled some sloe gin. 6 bottles. It took ages as I cannot find my muslin and used some filter things and they took  ages. I then planted some of my plugs out and did some gardening. Feeling like I’ve got some stuff done. Also emptied a whole massive bad of unpacking.

    £89.92 / £250 spent so far.

I hope you’ve all been super busy and are enjoying the sun.

  • Dress for the W.I competition finished (yesss project two complete). Wee moneyspender has also outgrown half his wardrobe overnight so I’ve purchased a few items of clothing so he doesn’t look like a complete urchin but I spent my Saturday night tracing sewing patterns to make a dent in my fabric stash.

I need to whip up a dress or two. I have one cut out somewhere. Not that I can find it in the madness that is my house / garage currently. And if I’m honest it probably won’t find after the covid weight gain. (It’s been cut out for nearing 3 years).

I’ve been to a car boot again. I bought a box of picture frame for £1 a load of linens to cut up for £1. And some tools and stuff. Hooks for £1 to save me making some as at times speed is more important then making the thing that is in your head and won’t happen for a year. They still need hanging. A large picture frame was bought for £2.

I’ve sprayed three frames. One will not fit the picture of was intended for. So I’m a bit peeved. I’ll need to buy a new mount board or make one which would require a tool to do it. either way it would require more spending. So I’m undecided which was to go. Annoyed I spent ages doing this though as I could have done something else instead of faffing. Hey ho.

I’ve used a roll of washi tape. I’ve framed two other pictures. So I’ve got some work together.

    192 / 250 projects

    £92.92 / £250 spent so far.

This budget is going to expand. But it’s also a decorating budget as I’ve moved so I’m accepting of this. Not all tools are being counted in this budget as it’s not a renovation budget and I feel every house needs a drill.

I hope you’ve all been super busy and are enjoying the sun.

  • Three pairs of pjs half way sewn up woohoo classifying them as UFO (UB finished objects) at the moment but they shouldn’t take that long to complete.
I did make a bit of a spend though, my darling nieceling has developed a love of 1950s fashion so in a bid to use up some of my stash I’ve purchased the Gertie Sews Jiffy Dresses book because my sister hates the quality of some of the dresses she’s bought online.

And because I’d like a new frock or two myself I’ve bought the Kinjarling Dress by Waves and Wild 😬🤣

    buying fabric
    buying patterns
    making patterns with the fabric

They are three separate hobbies right?

    2/100 and 3 UFOs.

Being picky I love the third one- something to do with his ears for goodness sake!! yes, I think it's because they are sticking up.

Looks like my doggy duvet outlet is not closing until the end of July so no guesses for what I will be making for the next week or so. I have 6 kennel coats cut out but the duvets are now pressing & take up far more room!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!
