2022 - No Craft Spending - I WILL bust my stash and make pretty things!!!!!

Hi, everyone - this week has gone to plan and I've finished the baby set and only have to find buttons. I have about 150g of the Aran left so will use it to knit someone a hat. I'm sure I have some small wooden buttons somewhere 🤔. I've sewn 2 pyramid bags to hold grandsons small Easter eggs and a memory cushion for a neighbour who's dad died recently.I've finally started an Aran knit for myself - I've kept putting this off as anything for myself takes ages due to the size 😂😂😂. The pattern has a long waistcoat or cardigan so knitting the body first and will then decide whether to add sleeves or not. Sewing this week will be 2 bags for granddaughters Easter.Happy craftingDebt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order

I hope you enjoy the knitting for yourself. It is nice to make things for others but it’s also essential to make things for us too. When I get round to seeing all the dresses I’d like to I’d have a whole new wardrobe and no need to shop for years 🤣🤣
So I’m up to 124 / 250.
I’ve hung some pictures and bits on the landing. I have also stuck a couple of bits in the box for the scrap store / charity shop.I’m nearly half way there with my target. I have loads more pictures and need to get more frames for this. But am currently loving found all of these things.£32.77/ £250 spent so far. I don’t count my social sessions as money spent as it’s about not being in the house.

Thanks for your kind messages. I am now COVID free and back out in the world. Physically I was pretty lucky but felt very brain dead, so things that required very little focus or moving were necessary. As a result, I’ve made a decent dent in the mending pile (though it remains concerningly large). Now that I’m feeling better, I’ve been working on some knitting. I have finished off two small balls that I had leftover from a previous hat. They worked themselves into another hat, so I’ve put that in my box for presents. Sure it will come in at some point.4

nimbo I used to sew all my clothes till I had my children over 40 years ago then I never had the time and it was easier to just buy them. Since I retired I've bought several lengths of material meaning to start dressmaking again and always keep putting it off. Possibly scared I've lost the touch - maybe one day.
As for my knitting - I've only done 6" in two full evenings. Another 22" to complete the back. This is going to be a long job 🥴Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

I made 7 Birthday cards this morning - using card blanks/envelopes from my stash. I recycled old cards to make them.

Florenceem, we all fall off the wagon sometimes. Just enjoy that new fabric. I bought some cute, cosied up crème eggs from someone selling them for Roots charity. I like your cards; the last couple of years, all my Christmas cards have been recycled like this.
I find it so satisfying, nimbo, watching a quilt grow (unless it’s that one of mine, lurking in the depths of a cupboard!) I love that we all de-stash and re-stash! I’m getting better at only buying what I need for a project but there always seems to be some stuff left over! I don’t count tools and equipment as I couldn’t get things done without them, lol, e.g., the one size of knitting needles I didn’t have for the wee cardi and a particular cutting die for my grandson’s birthday card.
Good work on the aran cardi and hat, and the Christmas blocks, plumduff. What a kind thought to make the memory cushion for your neighbour. I stopped making clothes for myself when I put on weight and I hated that I spent time on something for it to look like a tattie sack. ☹ I did make PJ bottoms last year and think I could use the same pattern for summer trousers. Also in my stash is fabric I bought a few years ago, to make a t-shirt/tunic. Knitting takes ages! I can make a crochet jumper, size 12 months, in a couple of evenings, but I’ve been at the wee knitted cardi for a fortnight and I have still got the sleeves to do! And it’ll take even longer because I’ve just run out of wool!
Hello, sammy_kaye18. What a lot of interesting crafts you do! I thought that bag was stitched, rather than painted; it’s lovely.
ChainikCrafts. it’s good to hear you’re on the mend; just take your time to get back into the swing again.
As for me, since last time I posted I made 33 more masks and 5 gift bags. I’ve not finished anything woolly (see above) and I’ve had to order wool (and some more because I couldn’t order just one ball – could I?) to finish the wee cardi. It should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. I’ve made 12 more cards (1 anniversary, 4 Easter and 7 general ones).
Happy Crafting!
