Added another five and three boxes unpacked. So I’m up to 87 / 250. Again not masses of progress but some. 😁😁
one of the frames will need sanding a bit as it has wrinkled a little. Boo hiss.I’ve done some planting is super cheap plug plants today. Feeling motivated and I hope they survive. I also weeded out some ivy and need to figure out what to do with a holly bush inside lavender bush. I like them both. Just not in the same space.23.87 / £250 spent so far.I’m loving the progress people are making. Everyone seems to busy.

Plumduff55, you are certainly working hard. I hope you can find the time to fit in your Sewing Club makes too!
Florenceem, thanks for telling me where to find the fingerless gloves pattern. I googled ’fingerless gloves’ too, and lots more lovely patterns came up, woo hoo. Your cream egg covers are so cute. I wanted to call them ‘cosies’ but that would be wrong; couldn’t have them melting!
If it was me, Edwink (& euronorris), I wouldn’t count the tools as spending. My logic is that, without them, I couldn’t use up my stash. Which reminds me – I bought some knitting needles today, bamboo, a pair and a set of 3.5mms, which I need for my next project. I have 3.25mm and 3.75mm and just about every other size that exists, of course, plus old fashioned 9s and 10s.
Cupcakecraftscuddlycanine, Iooked up your trouser pattern; it’s very smart - and I almost succumbed, but for once I listened to my head and not my heart; I have had the fabric and pattern to make a shirt for 2-3 years ….
Aww, pennib, your schoolgirl is a cutie!
nimbo, considering you’re still settling in and are dealing with a garden, I’m surprised you have time for crafting!
As for me, I’m getting back in the groove. I’ve shelved that **** baby quilt for the foreseeable future and I’ll give the one I had made already. Yesterday I gathered up my DK wool stash, sorted it by colour (mostly 1 ball of each), weighed anything less than a full ball – and made a lovely spreadsheet to help me decide how best to use it up. I filled 5 x 40 litre boxes (lids don’t fit on a couple, oops!) and I am positive that I haven’t found it all yet! The question now is, where to store them. 3 could fit on top of the wardrobe in the craft room, if I take down the box with the 4ply! 2 of the boxes had been under my bed with a little of my quilting fabric stash (that’s been moved to a chest of drawers in the spare room).
I have managed to fit in some stashbusting too.
· Crochet jumper (3 – 6 months), yellow and blue, like Ukrainian flag, with an appliquéd crochet sunflower
· 11 cards, including new baby, anniversary and St Patrick’s Day
In this coming week I’ll be crocheting another jumper (6 months -1 year, started) and maybe start a wee knitted cardigan, (using the new needles) and 3 little balls of wool from my stash. I hope to get some Easter gift bags made (which I won’t count because I bought the fabric – hang on, I’ll be using thread and ribbon from my stash, she cried, clutching at straws!). Of course, I found Easter fabric in the boxes I stole for the wool, ha ha.
Happy crafting, everyone!

Hi everyone, I finished knitting and sewed up blue lacy cardigan for dgd last night. Hoping I'll find some matching buttons and not have to buy any. I really grudge buying buttons 🤨.
Greentiger your wool stash sounds a bit like mines. I have 4 drawers under my double bed. One has double knitting, one has Aran, one has chunky and the last has the big 400g balls of Aran. All drawers are so full they're hard to close. I also have 2 boxes in the IKEA Kallax unit in my sewing room. These boxes contain all the oddments and leftover balls from bigger projects. I'm wondering if I should try recording them on a spreadsheet like you have done. When I got my state pension in October I treated myself to a new laptop - my old one had died a death a few years ago. Will think about doing a spreadsheet if I can find the time - guessing it will take ages.
Not sure what my next knitting project will be as I'm still not in the mood for a big project so cardigan for me will have to wait a while.
I'm hoping to finish the bed runner for dsil tomorrow. This will add to my quilting fabrics stash as I've to keep all the leftover fabric - would be rude to say no to some free fabric 😂.
I'm thinking of starting the Debbie Shore Christmas throw on Friday - this will use up loads of my quilting fabric and wadding. I have a bundle of used bed sheets I use for the backing when I'm quilting for myself. When I was in TKMax last week i saw small hessian kids bags for Easter costing £5.99. This gave me an idea 🤔. So I'm making 2 bags for granddaughters. I have the fabric and just need to print off templates for bunnies and eggs etc. I can't leave the boys out so will make them a drawstring bag in camouflage fabric. I will embroider their names on the bags and fill (or half fill) with small chocolate eggs. Easter sorted !!!Pennib - I love 'First day of school' - your work is beautiful
Florenceem - Your wee chick baskets are great, a good way to use up the leftover wool
I must go now - have lots of sewing to do 🤩Debt free - Mortgage free - Work free ( in that order)

Finally managed to finish the shawl for my SIL - don't think I've ever finished anything so quickly!

I dropped off some books to my local charity shop and unfortunately, they had 4 balls of fluffy pink wool for £2, which would be great for fluffy pink sheep. I have been pretty good up to now. It did motivate me to come home and start something from my massive stock of wool. So I've started crocheting a lap blanket. I'm not sure how far I'll get though, as it's starting to be good gardening weather.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2403

@greentiger well done on resisting! They are smart but only worth it if you actually have the time to do it! If you are enjoying what you already have at home to do I always think its best to do that!
that is what I try and do anyway...until I need a change or new challenge... 🙈3
