A good decluttery day of little niggly bits from my desk - 54 items in total. Not much space created but a satisfying number of things gone.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10

Great reading all the triumphs and good advice.
Yesterday I did more decluttering on the rooms of doom. I need to get rid of a large set of draws. My DD is taking them when leaving home but I need to move them out so I can carry on with my plans. I hope to get them loaded in my van with her other stuff this weekend if I can mange it. She is still looking for a place to live in Manchester.
Today I got rid of 1 bag of soft plastic recycling. This was on my way to the allotment via friend at the local Txsco. First time I have used the service so pleased it really existed.
While there I dropped 5 bags of SiL's clothes to the charity clothes bins but not conting these as ins and outs.
I spent a few hours at the allotment and am pleased with progress. I used big white builder's bags for some of my spuds, like huge spud bags. I prepped the area I was going to be placing them and started to load one bag with soil. Will place a second bag when I go next time. the good thing is that I can empty the soil at when they are harvested and move the bags and they need no weeding. Very satisfactory.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Officially retired at 55 2021 [/b][/b].Mortgage free April 2021Challenges 2024: Decluttering Campaign 32/100 bags plus 0 large items. Hi all, .
Hoping everyone that needs to is making use of the TLC carriage. I haven't done loads in the sense of decluttering my own house as I've been helping my aunt with the clearing of my Grandma's bungalow ❤ She passed away before Christmas and I'm so proud of the family for how well they are dealing with the sorting and organisation. I delivered 2 boot fulls of things to the charity shop.
I have kept a couple of small things that are special to me and my memories but have been sure not to take anything I don't absoloutely love or won't use. Big win for me.
Things I have decluttered from home are
82 2021 Diary (Recycled)
83-85 Joe Wicks books (listed)
86 craft baubles (Half used) Bin
87 stray papers (Recycled)
88-94 Magazines (Recycled)
95 - Double pushchair £25 made 😊
96 - 2 pairs children's PJ'S £2 made 😊
97 - Old slow cooker gifted to a friend
98-102 - 5 items childrens clothing £17 made 😊
I have decided to list things on book of face for 1 week limit. If they are not sold in this time or given away they will be donated to the charity shop. My garage is full of stuff that we no longer want but have been unable to sell before and I'm putting a stop to it. It gets 1 week only and then it is donated after all the money is already gone! Though it is lovely to make a few extra pounds if we can 😊

@Baxtersmum My budgeting is based around 2 bank accounts - the first one gets my salary & has all my DDs for the bills. I have a spreadsheet which has tabs for every month with the starting balance, each debit listed in date order, and an ongoing total so I know exactly how much there will be left at the end of each month & that gets transferred to my savings account. Because I just use that for the bills, it doesn't matter what date the DDs go out.
The second account, with a different bank, gets my "housekeeping" money on the 1st of the month, it is the account I use for my petrol, food shopping, haircuts, pet insurance, cat food etc.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hello @Mrs_Salad_Dodger et al
Used to chip in on a previous incarnation of this thread a while ago, been MIA for a long time but need to get back to OS ways in a hurry - including THE most mahoosive dejunking ever!
Will go back to the first few posts to remind myself, but not sure I have the brainpower to read 84 pages, sorry!

5 books for CS
1 book for selling
2 scarves for CS - I'm working through them atm.
8 + 82 = 90/365
I think I am now at or near the maintenance level. As GrannyKate put it -" the habit of routinely reviewing stuff" and I keep a bag always on the go for the CS. This past year only one toiletry bought and I am hoping for another no-spend year on toiletries as I still have loads.
Like for Like really works and cuts the stressful task of hunting for something. As I get older I think this is very important.
Nothing lying around on the floor is also essential for we older folk. As I have a pile of books in a corner of the spare room, I hope to get them read and away by the end of the month. My favourite CS had a sale of 5 for a euro which was so hard to resist. Resist I must and on the CS clothes front I am signed up with the Fashion on the Ration team with the added restriction that I will also count CS purchases as needing wartime "ration coupons"
I have always left the kitchen clear every night, that continues ,but every morning as I wait for the pot of water to boil, I have a quick look into the drawers and cupboards to find something for recycling or the bin. BTW, pot and not kettle as with cheap container gas ,like lots of rural French, we have a gas hob. Also the electric standing charge is lower if you sign up for a lower kilowatt usage = again more gas use for cooking.
As TC77 said, decluttering leads to less time being spent finding stuff and cleaning is quicker as less stuff is lying around.
Still, I have lots to sort....
And hugs for all with troubles and as my GP once said to me when I was in a dark place, you don't have to feel you must be doing something - you are allowed to do nothing
So, back to my novel...... .

@stellata as @TC77 had mentioned when I was reading through find a small thing to do. Many things do fit in the ad breaks. Sorting paper, doing a washing match up i.e socks. I like to do the washing up in stages if I am having a me day (or 2 or 3) wash the items and place on drainer, then use a jug or kettle of hot water and simply pour slowly washing off soap and swilling down the drainer and leave for another ad break. (or 2 or 3) The hot water helps dry the items and can generally picked up and put straight away
You are doing a great job in eating from the freezer and not spending is a double MSE thing to do. Take care.

Meant to be having some decorating but having to put off. Walls to dining room being painted. DD2 doesn't want blinds changed (stripey ikea fabric from 2020 but faded) - she gets stressed about some things changing. Have abit of the fabric in my stash (someone made them) but not enough to replace so trying to think of a work around.
Watched decluttering/hoarding programmes this evening rather than action!
165-166 2 old podiatry made insoles (never wore)
167 ood food.
Still can't find book club book. Own up to picking up knitting books from someone, and someone hadn't picked up notebooks so came home with them - hoping to give to neighbour's little girl.
someone meant to pick up free stuff from me and didn't turn up11
