I'm feeling incapable of decluttering. As well as gaining things yesterday, wrapped glassware for CS, then unwrapped, wrapped and unwrapped, maybe I will need it. Total waste of time. B Gas here so hopefully that may be sorted!12

If you never use it, you won't need it, bit of time and you won't remember you ever had it. Even if you did suddenly need it (you won't) you would manage.

Bought a loooooooooooooooot of candlestick holders for the wedding in Oct, and they are all hanging around. I'm thinking of keeping two of each colour, and the rest to charity shop.... they have a bit of sentimental value as they were part of our big day, but just don't need all of them- when am I ever going to need that many again? I don't know, will I, won't I, what if we have a big party and I want to burn the place down??
How do you all do it, am so impressed with your destashing!
At the weekend I'm planning on going through my exercise draw and listing some leggings for sale. I have SO MANY, and I don't wear all of them, and the brand resells really well so if they sell I'll get a decent amount back for them. It's literally the only thing I bother to sell rather than charity shop.
Have a quiet weekend at home this weekend so I am hoping to get rid of some stuff, that is my plan. Need to be a bit more brutal. The other day I picked up a couple of books on the shelves I've had for YEARS and haven't read yet because clearly they don't inspire me (Cloud Atlas was one- I know it is meant to be good so back on the shelf it went), and went to put them in the charity shop bag but stopped myself. What if they are good? It'll save me having to buy any new books if I make myself read all the ones I have.....
I was the same with notepads the other day- I have lots of pretty notepads, stationary, hogging up space, and what stopped me getting rid of any is the thought of saving cash later for when I need to crack open a new notepad.Jan Grocery Challenge 2023: £181.18/£400

@Clutterbug07 maybe keep your absolute favourite candleholders in case you feel a pyromaniacal urge in the future 😉
As I’m working from home I’ve gathered up the stationary and put them in my ‘office’ drawers with a promise to myself to use these up (with the exception of one that is far far too pretty for work).✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks.
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedThursday is another bright start - blue sky & sunny but bitterly cold 🥶 DH is up waiting for a phone call from the cardiologist - DH has been on his tablets for 3 months. Already an hour late 😔. I am on my 2nd cuppa & DSis has just come down & is faffing about with her French paperwork - which she should have sorted out in 2018 when she left France. Unlike me she never sorts her paperwork & after 10 years of trying to help her I completely left her to it from about 2.5 years ago. I still worry but to be honest if she can’t be bothered then neither can I. Might sound harsh but she is in her 50’s & I am completely worn out by it. Rant over because now I feel a bit sick 😞 So to cheer myself up I am going to go straight into cheerleading before I get angry 😔
Excellent work weenancyinAmerica 👏 Hope the book sale goes well 🤞
Good luck Baxtersmum 🍀
Pleased to hear that there has been some movement on the plumbing issues GrannyKate 🙂 Hopefully the rest of the issues will be sorted out very soon 🤞 Excellent decluttering in the kitchen 👏 As to the prompt action on your mail you not only stopped them gathering dust but also prevented them turning into frogs 👏
donna73, I have a large wheelie bin to which I add a 240l black bin bag. All the little bags of rubbish get dropped into that. When collection day comes round they put the entire bin on the back of the truck & tip automatically. Sometimes the bin liner goes into the truck, sometimes not. Hope that helps 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏
Good work balabooberlies 👏Good work GrannyKate 👏 As far as I am aware PMs are perfectly acceptable.Sorry you are having one of those days TC77 😞 Fingers crossed that BG sort out the problem 🤞
Lovely supportive post Guineapigsqueaks 🙂
Clutterbug07, are the lots of wedding photos with the candle holders in plain sight? If not, perhaps take some photos & put the pictures into one frame & hang on the wall. You will still have the memories but not the clutter 😉 As to the books, perhaps set a target of reading one a week/fortnight/month depending on how fast you read? Once read put it straight into the CS bag 🙂 So many of us find notebooks a challenge 😉 but a good idea from florianatwobob 👏See you later 👋MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

@Clutterbug07 Re: books - my view would be if you haven't read a book that's sat on your shelf for over 12 months, next time you did foen to read start that book. If it doesngrab you, let it go. I regularly have a session of doing this with the constant pile of unreads on my bookshelves.
Re: notepads - put all the unused ones away in one place, just keeping one, part-used one out, and DON'T get another out until that is full.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Thankyou for my medal 🏅 @Mrs_Salad_Dodger 😊
Had another productive morning here.
One frog tackled and rang the furniture charity shop to collect the now empty wardrobes from Grandma's bungalow 😊
I have gutted the entire bathroom and airing cupboard today and it's incredible the amount of stuff we have that we won't use. I really have a habit of spending money on things we will never need or use 😪 must stop doing that!!
For the bin/recycling
1 full bag rubbish
4 x expired meds
Half used stick on nails
4 packs bone dry baby wipes....my children are 13 and 10 🙈
8 almost empty but no longer used products
1 broken jug
1 broken lighter (for candles)
2 old make up sponges
1 broken hairdryer
3 broke hairbrush
1 broken headband
25 mishaped/broken hair clips
32 stretched/damaged hair bobbles
23 Unused but part used make up (most been open way too long)
4 empty makeup containers
8 broken/damaged make up brushes
1 box used eyelashes.
That makes it sound like I use a considerable amount of makeup!! Ive put my face on a handful of times on the last year 🙈
There is another appx 200 items that are too good/unused to be thrown or recycled so going to sort through them for charity/women's shelter etc. Won't count those until they are out!
Think that makes my total 222 items out 😊

I earnt it for just keeping a couple of small things that I absoloutrly love or will use from my grandma's bungalow after she passed. I'm someone who can find sentiment in the most random things so a huge win for me 😊
I kept 3 very snuggle home Jumpers (The PJ type ones)
A cutting from a plant that she loved which is happily rooted and now planted and a naked man statue that was always a talking/chuckling point when we went to visit with the children. They are both extremely happy and amused to have naked man at home 😉13
