What does a clear table-top look like? I don't think we have a clear space in this house. Still working on the roommates to do at least 6 items a day. I do mine, but...I dream of running away to a clean house anywhere.11

Am I too late to officially join in?@Mrs_Salad_Dodger ?? I’m really inspired by seeing you all number the items you’ve got rid of.
Ive got a list of the areas I’ve been tackling so far , so I’m going to sit down this morning and try and remember all the things I’ve got rid of. I’ll probably forget some , but at least it will get me started and make me realise the progress so far.Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗10 -
Everybody can join in @donna73 and the only rules are being kind to yourself and others. Whole days can be spent in the TLC carriage if needed. I seem to have acquired a list of mostly smallish frogs so will try and get through some of them today. Online meeting cancelled so just waiting in for plumber.
146 last of January birthday cards posted, February one written ready to post and I have bought a couple already for March
147 E mail received in late DH's account so have contacted the company to take him off list.

Thanks @GrannyKate 😀… so FROGS are jobs you’ve been putting off?? And they can be counted too because they are cluttering your mind?
I can’t seem to get back to the first post to read the “rules” , so trying to pick it up by reading what you’re all up to.The TLC carriage sounds like a cozy place I’ll be sure to bring along cake when I go there 😉😀Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗11 -
@donna73 - Cakes are always welcome. Frogs relate to quote from Mark Twain; - 'If it's your job to eat a frog, it's best to do it first thing in the morning. And If it's your job to eat two frogs, it's best to eat the biggest one first.' - on our site frogs can be eaten in any order as you may need to work yourself up to the biggest one.2025 Decluttering Campaign 648/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Morning all 😀 I’ve decided to get fully onboard with you. I’ve been doing my decluttering, but not recording it so far, but seeing your numbers going up has really inspired me - thank you!So whilst having breakfast, I’ve gone back over my to-do lists etc and tried to remember as many things as possible that I’ve got rid of. I’ve made a list in my bullet journal and am sharing a photo to save me having to type it all out!! There’s possibly more , that I’ve forgotten, but it’s the majority anyway.I’ve put a tick column as I might not update on here every day - but when I’ve shared,I’ll tick it off. Lots of satisfying ticking to do in a mo once I’ve posted this 😀

That is one very organised list @donna73, welcome aboard!
Woke up feeling a bit under the weather so didn't do my scheduled exercise and instead went back to bed for an hour. Have tested and come back negative, so could just be the weekend catching up with me. Luckily don't have any meetings today so can take it a little easy on the work front. Have one thing on the list for today and that's chasing our life insurance provider over their new DD; we modified our policy after re-mortgaging and they said we'd make the first payment around the 2nd of Jan, then the 11th and still nothing. They were chasing us on the old policy for the old DD because we'd cancelled it. So a little in limbo really. Right off to make a coffee and then give them a call.
Hugs to those that need them.

Thanks @ruby_eskimo 😀 hope you feel a bit brighter soon & good luck with the life insurance. I’m trying to get hold of virgin media… AGAIN!! Grrr
since making the list , I’m eyeing up everything in the house to see what else can go 😂Word for 2023 …PROACTIVE 🧡 2023 -decluttering campaign 1020/2023 ⭐️⭐️Saving towards paying off car in November…£720/£1500 🚗11 -
Welcome to our new declutterers, it's never too late to start, and any amount done puts you in a better place than you were before 😊 and hugs to those who need them right now.
@stellata I agree with everyone else, but also remember - we are only on week 3 of the year! You still have 49 weeks left, so if you need some r&r there is no hurry and the TLC carriage has all your favourite things.
I have managed to slay 2 frogs since I last posted. I weighed myself and was dismayed to see the highest weight I ever have 😔 we have a holiday booked for Mr Puppy's birthday in May so I am determined to lose some weight.
The second frog was much easier, amending a website for a professional group I volunteer with, met up with another volunteer and we sorted it together. Not sure why I put it off for 2 months!
Otherwise maintenance continuing, with the exception of a new to me, fairly impractical, pair of irregular choice shoes that I have wanted for years and are currently on their way to me. Think it is time I had a sort of my shoes and see if there are any I do not wear any more.11 -
TC77 said:would love to hear from people who are in 'maintenance mode' if you have noticed the difference in being able to find things etc, less time dealing with stuff?I may be half in maintenance and half out if that helps/makes sense. We are expecting [hoping!!] to have work done to the house this year so a lot of stuff that would be on display in a normal house is sitting in boxes or bags in the back bedroom [books and the like] . However, i used to a be a great believer in Justins and had a mountain of them. I've whittled them back to maybe 5% remaining Justins and am slowly going back through everything I've already agressively decluttered to see if there's anything else that can go too. I have found some stuff, but not huge amounts and intend to keep doing that because I remember how much stuff we moved when I sold my flat and brought with us only to get rid of it after we moved.I have tricks that I forget are tricks too. I have the recycle boxes by the front door in the porch so any post that comes through and doesn't usually get filed is straight in the box, or straight to the firelighting envelope.I also use decluttering at the speed of life like a bible and re-read it ocassionally to make sure I'm still on board. The visibility rule is so helpful. And t does gee you up to see things gradually being whittled down to something approaching respectability and not running round in horror when someone comes round...Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi10
