@Mrs_Salad_Dodger unfortunately not, DH has done another 5 car loads today, these were some of his self employed things that only fit 1 at a time in the car with some odd bits filtered in between. DH says hopefully a few more car loads to empty it, if he stays well.
I've been of little use to DH today, an awful night with a horrible sore throat, I knew DD2 had managed to share her germs. And from the message I've just got, to one of the kids from dance/the party too. So I've done absolutely nothing all day so far.

Has anyone watched Sort Your Life Out on BBC? It was on before Christmas and is still on iplayer. I found the bits exploring the emotional reasons behind people hanging on to stuff really got me thinking about my own clutter. I love their "professional sort-outer" Dilly, I started following her on instagram and she has some very helpful (sometimes brutal!) posts about why we hang on to "stuff" and what to do about it.
Not much done today, I’m always exhausted and sore after having the tinies over night, they were as good as gold though and we read some lovely stories and made some fantastic Lego creations.

@Suffolksue I very often think that, it’s a good motivator to think your loved ones having to go through all your stuff and giving them worries about wether it was something you loved, and therefore they should keep it.
I have told my children that they can gladly throw everything away. They are only physical items , we hold our memories inside our hearts.
Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.
Hello Mrs SD and all my fellow declutterers Seems as though there are a lot of us needing some TLC at the moment, here's a (((Hug))) if that helps
I haven't done much decluttering over the last two days. I got involved yesterday with a large pile of paper in the "office" which I started sorting out, that'll keep me busy for the next few days, at least!
A long-term frog has been eaten and digested in the form of DH's pension which has finally been sorted - yay!!

Cadent have advised that they’re upgrading the pipes supplying gas to my house somewhere over a 5 week period that could start between 31/01/22 and 31/03/22. Im trying to get a more exact date as it’s potentially delaying my house upgrades.

donna73, The amount increases by 1p per day eg on March 8th you would save 67p
Day 1 = 1p Day 2 = 2p And so on to Day 365 = £3.65
Hope that helps.

Oooer, I look away for a moment, 233 replies unread! Finally managed to shift half of those books out in the garage, which went out there at the start of lockdown; they'd been destined to be donated/given away, but of course that wasn't possible, and I'd kind of forgotten they were out there. Oh dear... mice had got into one of the boxes, so I'm afraid they went off to the Tip this morning, along with a vast assortment of cardboard boxes and a few metal items that had Gone Beyond Reasonable Use. There's still another big hamper of books out there, but that was quite enough shifting for one day!
Next major job is to enquire what, if anything, from the furniture out there is needed for DS1 & his partner moving into their new home. They have already "spoken for" a couple of items, which I will take up to them when they complete on the house they're buying. DD1 and her partner are resuming their search for somewhere to live shortly and are having the dining chairs, but anything that no-one's currently interested in should be moved on after that. (That said, though, her twin brother is currently job-hunting, but could end up anywhere in the world & probably won't be interested in hand-me-downs anyway, even just to tide him over.)
Smaller jobs in progress: more stuff sorted out in the sewing room; a bag of clean washing (!) of DD1's, that was "temporarily" deposited in there in November, has been plonked outside her bedroom door, to be sorted out or donated. Some more fabric etc. has been priced up & put on my stall. And I've finally given my notice in on the local stall, which has never done very well & has struggled lately. That feels like a weight off my mind! Just hope I don't have to bring anything much back here; I'll reduce it right down & plug it madly on social media.
Onwards & upwards...
