Popped out to a localish nice town for a few hours and only bought things we actually needed, I honestly didn't miss or mind not buying the extra bits I usually would have picked up. I'm determined we'll use up the things we have first.
I need to tackle my frogs too and decide how best to tackle them, starting small I think with listing some unneeded things on fb market place, lets hope I'm blessed with interested shoppersand no time wasters.
Loving reading everyone's posts11 -
To all our experienced declutterers don’t forget to remove any personal belongings from the 2021 Charabancs as you are being dropped off at your local stations ready to board the 2022 Electric Decluttering Train 😉 The charabancs ended up being unwieldy & expensive as I had to hire way too many drivers 😱
Welcome aboard mumof3.12kindebt 👋 your seat is reserved 🙂 Hopefully whilst you are on your decluttering journey you will find a few items to sell which will help you to reduce your debt 🤞
Welcome back Finstickle 👋 your seat is also reserved & I have attached a note of your target 🙂 Sounds Like you have a busy year planned 🙂
Marpau we now have Mending Monday and Frog Friday 🙂So lovely to see you Suffolksue 👋 I read quite a few threads and I remember with sadness reading your posts about your husband. Your love shone through with every word you wrote. I have reserved your seat in the same carriage as balabooberlies so you can catch up before we set off 🙂
vulpix, I never thought of finding the same earring twice 🤣
Nice to see you again EnergyShifter 👋 Your seat is reserved & target noted 🙂 The train metaphor is definitely working better than 2021’s Charabanc/s but once I’d started I felt compelled to stick with it ☹️ - I can be a bit stubborn 😉😉 Some great goals in your list which make me realise that I really need to knuckle under & sort out my priorities 😉What a great start to your Decluttering Campaign hopefuldebtfree 👏 Keeping our purses or wallets closed is often difficult 😱 Good luck with your frogs 🍀Be Kind. vulpix, I am rather pleased that the thread is being compared to HP 😉 Such a shame that eco concerns mean that we cannot have a steam train 🤣
Suffolksue, Remember to take a good run up in a straight line (head on) when getting to Platform 9 & 3/4 😂Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £228.00

I'm going for 1000 items to declutter in 2022.
I have a tendency to shop if I'm bored or need something to do. I don't need to and not setting healthy habits for my daughter. I am a member of a health club and have an allotment so plenty to do. I am going to impose a 100 day challenge on myself of not buying any clothes/shoes/bags or non essential toiletries for myself and the family - OH, DD, and 2 stepchildren.
When decluttering I find I want an instance fix and it all sorted at once. In reality I try, end up working on several areas, getting overwhelmed, stressed and arguing with my OH. Then shoving it all back. I would love a calmer, easier flowing house where I could find what I need quickly and everything to have a home.
I've never really written this down or thought about reasons behind my struggle to part with things. Also trying to be sustainable and more environmentally conscious.
Looking forward to jumping on board and getting to know everyone. Not been on a train journey since pre-covd.

I’d love to join this challenge again in 2022, please, and my aim is to simplify my life by decluttering at least 2022 items.
I have managed to get rid of more than 2021 items this year, but must admit that this number includes many hobby magazines and books belonging to my husband. He has barely made a dent in the number he owns, which fill one of the bedrooms in our house. He still wants to keep most of what remains, unfortunately, but at least he has got rid of some!
I look forward to reading everyone’s posts - good luck!

Fizz2015, I have added a note to your reserved seat with your target of 1000 🙂 Well done on writing down your thoughts & ideas - it does help to clarify your aspirations. I hope you don’t mind a couple of observations 😉 Firstly well done on finding a compelling reason not to shop 👏 Window shopping is fine but can be tempting 😉 however as several people have hinted writing down what has caught your eye & then looking at your note again in 30 days is quite often enough - a good way to curb the desire to buy whatever it is. If after the 30 days you decide you don’t want the item, can I suggest you put the purchase price into a money box/jar & see how m h you can save by being mindful 🙂 The harshest & hardest solution though is to not go out and/or not switch on your phone or computer 😉 Also if you watch TV & are tempted by the adverts - don’t watch them perhaps do a mini decluttering task e.g. sort handbag/rucksack 😉 As to instant fixes, regrettably there are none 😔
Welcome aboard the 2022 Electric Train, tiddles 👋 Your seat is reserved with a note re your 2022 target 🙂 Btw well done on surpassing this years target - one Gold Star ⭐️ for 2021 👏 Remember you can count whatever you like - if it is leaving the house then it doesn’t really matter which member of the household owns it 😉😉

Hello Mrs SD, I'm in again for 2022 🙂
Thank you for setting up another thread for 2022, the 2021 thread and all your hard work keeping us ontrack is very much appreciated.
I'll do 52 bags in 52 weeks again and hope to do a couple more if possible.
My good intentions this year are very much recycled ones from 2021, as I only achieved one of them -
1. Redecorate the hall and stairs after damage from a water leak in 2020.
2. Redecorate and add storage in our downstairs toilet.
3. To add some additional cupboards in the kitchen to reduce the amount of surface clutter
4. To clear the loft, fix the damaged floor, get rid of all the things we don’t need and the stuff we want to keep put back boxed and labelled.
5. Declutter some more debt !
DH is on board with these but given we only achieved 1 out 5 this year perhaps needs additional encouragement !!
Looking forward to spending another year with all you lovely declutterer’s 😘
