Count me in.Those odd socks still have to find their way outside and the clothes and shoes could probably do with a second sweep, for starters. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Ooooh - I'd like to join please!
My 'theme' - or motto - for 2022 is Make Space. This includes in my head, in my life and in my house so decluttering is an important part of this. I don't know about a numerical goal but I have a few tasks/areas to focus on:- Stop bringing things in - I will only buy what is needed this year, no wants - I can focus on wants when I have more space.
- Use up what I have and only replace once used (or down to last stash bottle/tube etc)
- 16 living room drawers/shelves need going through and sorting
- 7 bookshelves to organise and declutter
- 18 'cubes' in bedroom to go through and organise
- Clothes - no new ones and move some old ones on (sell or give away)
- On top of the fridge
- Glassware cupboard
- 3 plastic tubs of craft stuff
- Organise computer files
- And the biggy.. the hall cupboard.
I hope to tackle these things throughout the year so that I am constantly focused on 'Making Space' everywhere in my life.
Looking forward to sharing everyone's journey

I did a few bits yesterday, I have a basket in my bedroom that I had been popping things in that either needed to go downstairs or in the bin so I finally got around to emptying that and I cleaned an old highchair ready for listing on Facebook and ebay. I also put 2 Nakd muffin bars that we didn’t like on Olio and someone is coming to collect them on Saturday. I flitted about a bit as I couldn’t concentrate on any one area which probably wasn’t that productive but I’m sure doing anything is better than doing nothing!
vulpix I miss the updates on the escapades of Mr V and yourself so it’s lovely to have found you on another thread! Thanks for the heads up about the broken jewellery donation to the Alzheimers Society, I didn’t know about this and it will come in handy!
Marpau that’s a great list, thank you.

Welcome aboard princesskitty29 👋 your seat is reserved 🙂 Sounds like you are already a well seasoned declutterer with various strategies in play 👏 However, like me you need a bit of company on the journey 😉 You never ever have to apologise for long posts - it gives us a chance to get to know you & gives you a chance to see your thoughts written down & to appreciate how far you have come already 👏🙂 The Electric Declutter Train will be travelling around the country/countries on Thursday picking up everyone who has reserved a seat plus anyone else who wants to hop on board - there are plenty of seats & the number of carriages will increase as we travel 😉 Another one getting into the decluttering groove 🥳
vulpix, virtual buffet cars are the only way I will be able to lose weight 😉😉 Sounds like you had a lovely Christmas 🙂 & very impressed that having decluttered much of your party ware you still managed to be a perfect hostess 👏 I sneaked in & moved the missing earring so you would have to sort out a couple of drawers looking for it 🙃
Welcome back shangaijimmy 👋 - I remember how much I liked your name - sounds very exotic 😉 Your seat is reserved & your target noted 🙂 I sympathise with you re your good lady - hopefully when she sees how much easier it is to find things once the clutter is gone she might join in 🤞Good luck with the frogs - remember if they are large you can dismember them & deal a piece at a time 😉
What a great list Marpau 👏 I have taken the liberty of copying it & will see how many I can cross off - although the make up & nail varnish will be difficult as I don’t use either 😉
bit_by_bit, I quite agree that 2022 is going to be a great decluttering year 🙂
Great start Black_Saturn 👏
I hope that isn’t 5000 poppies each, ilovetea 😉 Sounds like it will be a wonderful display 🙂
Welcome back daisy_1571 👋 your seat is reserved 🙂 with a label stating 1000 - so easily identifiable as your seat 😉
Excellent start Guineapigsqueaks 👏 No such thing as starting early 😉 just making use of the last week of 2021 to get you into the decluttering mindset for 2022 🥳 So I make that 5 already 👏
Welcome aboard elsien 👋 I can see that many of you already have plans in place for your Decluttering Campaign 👏🙂
Welcome aboard the Electric Train MostlyFine 👋 We now definitely have 2 carriages of declutterers - socially distanced & all getting along famously. I am very impressed with your planning - you have set out out your overall goal “Make Space” & then the steps you need to take to be successful 🙂 Brought to mind an acronym that was all the rage when I was working 👏 S.M.A.R.T. - Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Timely. Your list meets all the criteria 👏Be Kind. Stay Safe. Break the Chain. Save Lives. ⭐️2025 Savings Pot Challenge: As a monthly amount, running total = £228.00

Please add me as well Mrs S_D, and thanks for the new thread.
I think my 2021 is done now, anything I organise etc won't make it out the door before Saturday so will count as 2022.
Target of 2 items a day - 730
DD is now in 2-3 clothes so a lot less. Of those this year as should get 2 seasons out of everything as she is small for her age.
I am less so and have a large bag of clothes that haven't fit since pre-pregnancy that will go this year if that doesn't change.
This year we half converted a large wardrobe into a larder, will finish that this year enabling the total decluttering of a number of kitchen cupboards out the door.
Other plans include some room rearranging which always leads to stuff out the door, mending Mondays so that everything is either in use or going rather than waiting for action and the continual review of anything I come across.June Grocery Challenge £0/£250

Please may I join in 2022 ,I have been lurking for a while.
my beloved DH died last April ,he suffered from a particularly foul neuro degenerative disease which destroyed his body whilst leaving his mind intact ,his only wish was to stay at home and with the help of some magnificent carers and nurses and a fantastic GP ,we managed to .
i have managed to sort and take to the charity shops the vast majority of his clothes.
I now need to sort and declutter my bungalow ,the last 3-4 years it has just become very untidy and lots of unnecessary stuff has accumulated
.No regrets ,his care was much more important
I would like to sort my bedroom first ( he had a hospital bed and hoist etc in another room .all that equipment has been returned .
sorry for the essay
I already know some of you from other threads “ hello Bala “11 -

Thanks so much for organising this thread once again Mrs SD. I would love to join again and I'm loving the train metaphor - I can almost imagine that I'm sitting excitedly in the waiting room - happy to be seeing lots of familiar faces and some new ones for the journey ahead.
Counting items motivates me so I am going for 2022 in 2022. This will include physical items, admin & house maintenance tasks. I'm also going to count actions that correspond to decluttering bad habits (Pepsi Max and Social Media) and establishing good ones towards being the kind of person I want to be - to include: re-establishing my morning routine (prayer, stretching & journalling) , being thoughtful & generous to others, learning things (including starting to read physical books again) etc
I also want to stop procrastination on household maintenance and it is my goal for the early part of 2022 to make my house into an asset so that I have more choices.
I also need to stop bringing things into my house so will operate a 1 in 1 out rule for clothes which are my downfall (nearly all from CS but that's no excuse).
