Please may I join in 2022 ,I have been lurking for a while.
my beloved DH died last April ,he suffered from a particularly foul neuro degenerative disease which destroyed his body whilst leaving his mind intact ,his only wish was to stay at home and with the help of some magnificent carers and nurses and a fantastic GP ,we managed to . i have managed to sort and take to the charity shops the vast majority of his clothes.
I now need to sort and declutter my bungalow ,the last 3-4 years it has just become very untidy and lots of unnecessary stuff has accumulated .No regrets ,his care was much more important
I would like to sort my bedroom first ( he had a hospital bed and hoist etc in another room .all that equipment has been returned . sorry for the essay I already know some of you from other threads “ hello Bala “

According to a lovely poster I am Bala the Brave who wrestled a Tiger. You know who you are.....
Mrs S.D.........are we allowed to bring things forward? Am 18 bags light/away from target for 2021.
What I would like to do is have a target of a bag a week (52 for the year) and add what I didn't complete from 2021. So 70 bags in total, as many frogs as I can manage and hopefully some weight too.
How's that ?

Welcome aboard Holmefarm 👋 You didn’t fall off - you were hiding in the baggage car counting your 1p Challenge monies 😉 Do you have any plans for this cash - sorry for being nosy but I also did the 1p Challenge & am spending it buying bras & shoes + filling any gaps in my wardrobe 😉 Your seat is reserved with a note added re your target & I am looking forward to seeing you 🙂 & hoping that your strategy will keep you motivated 🤞
Suffolksue as your bags are varying sizes I would count the number of items in each bag 🙂 However there are no hard & fast rules as so well put by charlies_tribe 👏
Welcome aboard charlies_tribe 👋 lovely to see you again 🙂 Your seat is reserved & target is noted. Sorry to hear that the dreaded mental health raised its head but you have my utmost admiration for keeping going 👏 Firstly thank you so much for reminding me of the ‘timer method’ of decluttering 👏 I had completely forgotten this method & how successful a tool it is 🙂 What an excellent start to your 2022 Decluttering Campaign 👏 Btw, You don’t have to keep anything until Saturday - out it goes 👏
Excellent start Guineapigsqueaks 👏 Thanks for the reminder about bird feeders - we also have very particular birds in our garden & so have quite a few unused bird feeders which are taking up space in the garden box ☹️ Oh dear another task added to my ever growing To Do list 😔
No need to hang on the side of the train -taff 😉 Come aboard & be warm - maintenance decluttering is just as important as plain decluttering 🙂 Especially in view of your rather exciting plans 👏
Welcome aboard Baxtersmum - how lovely to meet you 🙂 Hopefully you will find us a helpful, encouraging & kind family who will support you on your decluttering journey 🙂 Good luck with the bay of E sales 🍀
Plenty of seats left on the EDT, TheCraftyForager 🙂 So welcome aboard 👋 Thank you for sharing your life & your decluttering goals with us. Sorry to hear that you have long covid ☹️ - the ‘gift’ that keeps on giving 😖 😔 Hopefully we can help with the motivation 🤞& remember the more decluttering success you have, the more motivated you become 🙂👏 I believe it is called a Virtuous Circle 🤔
StickyTheStickInsect, Absolutely love ‘the additional encouragement’ being something as simple as getting someone in to do the decorating & DIY 😂 Unfortunately that wouldn’t work with my DH - he would just start getting quotes 😉
Welcome aboard EcoIntent 👋 love the name 🙂 Your seat is reserved & your target noted 🙂 Good luck with your ‘no buy January’ 🍀 I sometimes think that half the battle is stopping stuff coming in 😬 See you on the 1st 🙂
balabooberlies, very impressed that you want to carry forward 👏 & have made a note - need to make sure I don’t miss out on giving out awards earned 😉

Thank you Mrs SD I will count individual items to the CS , rubbish I will just count bags ,will not count binning the paper each day !
yesterday I cleared the window sill in my bedroom cleaned it and the window and thought carefully what to put back .( having washed them first) I replaced two broken curtain hooks now drinking my tea, admiring it having opened the curtains . Think I need to sort surfaces slowly but keep them tidy once I have .
Thank you Mrs SD, I super excited to join, I’ve already thought of 2022 things that I need to wave goodbye to! Happy New Year everyone and it’s so lovely to meet you all ☺️🧹🧺🧼

I’m ready for the whistle to blow, ticket in hand and plenty of tea and cake to keep me going. I have a map of the route lm taking starting with the garage then sheds, round the garden back into the house. The house ride will be bumpy so might need my seat during this stage. Probably a few stops on the way but l need to start this journey in 2022.
Morning, usually I desperately clean and tidy for the new year but working today and too exhausted, and of course will be on board the train tomorrow and have fresh motivation. Couldn't find my bank/credit cards to order things even! Will do a minimal tidy to be able to work and eat dinner!
Looking forward, have my trunks, suitcase and backpacks all ready......
I'm another waiting with my ticket downloaded to my phone (decluttering already!) and a map of my route & plans...
First is my wardrobes (3 of them 🤭) and all the clothes stashed in drawers & under beds. I need to be ruthless about what suits, whether I am realistically going to lose 2 stone to fit things and if I will actually wear them!
Decluttering weight & regaining fitness is also on the list, along with my wellbeing.
My home is almost all decorated inside now, I will be doing all the inside windows & my decorators will be doing the outside.
The gardens need proper attention and refining - there are quite a few "features" & plants already in when I bought the house that I really don't like!
Devluttering other stuff was done when I moved in 2019, but I know there are things I have not used since then that can leave.
Pleased to see the excitement building about catching the 2022 EDT 🥳 Thanks to Suffolksue, Baxtersmum, shabbychic12, TC77 and Floss your excitement is contagious in the nicest sense of the word 🙂
I will be back later to list my intentions & set out my daily mantras which will hopefully keep me on track 🤞
