That's a lovely idea for the Ikea voucher @Liverpool_Anne - hope your DS and GF enjoy putting their stamp on their first home.
1 item out - a cheap wooden spoon that was actually splintering and I don't really want to eat food that has splinters in it 😳 Managed to tidy and organise the tupperware cupboard so it closes now and things are vaguely in an order. Don't think I need to buy anymore jars though. One of my tasks on the Simplify list for next year is to clear the kitchen counter of clutter and I have an idea, just need to execute it.
Hope everyone is staying warm.

Mother home safe from hospital. Relief all round that it wasn’t a second stroke as we feared. Fingers crossed the new medication works.
Managed small amounts of tidying - just a few items into recycling bin. Hope to get into shed at the weekend to get a few more things out of there, cleaned and back indoors. Once I know how much needs to go back into each room, I can work out the best way to store it all.
Wrapped OH’s stocking presents in pre-used paper. Most satisfying as it all matched and was the right size so I only had to tape one end. Still have last few cards to write. They seem to be turning into a frog.
Well done re 1p challenge MrSD. I always start that bue never keep it up. Love the idea of the anniversary 50p on a chain.DH started collecting last year and we are drowning in 50ps now. Congrats on your 5th anniersary badge too. :
Sounds like you are really hammering the clutter now @grandmanerd. Always a great feeling when you can see the progress.
So a good day yesterday. I pulled loads of stuff out of the room of doom (craft room) cleared the table and rejigged or emptied some of the boxes in there. There is a lot to go but in clearing and tidying I could move all my online selling packaging into there from DD bedroom. I want to make that my photographing, packaging and storage space for that particular activity. Its all over the house right now. I do feel a lot better for doing it although not much went out. Mostly rubbish and recycling.
Her room is still full of pictures and presents which need to be gone or sorted by 23rd of December when she comes home. I also need to get to my wool cupboard as I have offfered to crochet a blanket for my DB and DSis. Both want greens so should be easy enough if I have enough wool. I really don't want to buy any more and I am sure I have enough various greens stored
Before that I have to finish a baby blanket for GS3 and to make for DDs boyfriend who is visiting from Canada in February. Now bored hands here.
Today I have been sorting out some chores and frogs. Breakdown cover sorted. DH's turn this time. We alternate between several companies though a cashback site. Its good to have the time and brainspace to sort this sort of thing out. When I was working it was all last minute and a chore.
DH has been offered a new job today. It won't start until the end of feb but will mean him being out of the house two days a week. When I retired I was looking forward to an empty house so I could gut it from top to bottom The course of real life doesn't run smooth. He has been homeworking for over two years now. I have got used to him being there and not doing stuff at the pace I wanted, just snatched moments like yesterday.
Have a good evening all - warmer weather is on the way so they say.

I’m on the final push, only 120 items to declutter and the target of 2022 will have been reached. It’s been such a great challenge, I get a real ends of achievement watching the number go down.
I’m wondering if next year I can manage to declutter again but also not buy anything new into the house, I’d like to try and properly save for a year. I can’t believe there are this many passengers and carriages on the Declutter Express, doesn’t seem 5 mins ago since boarding x

Gosh so much going on. Down at my dads and surrounded by vhs tapes, cds and dvds. Everything from dads army, politics, art and opera! Everything copied into the new format I remember he said some were for watching later when he had time Apparently people buy vhs tapes. Just watched a pinter play which when I out it on DB asked if emmerdale ( 1987 bbc version?).1950s mixer, dustette and infrared/ ultraviolet lamp- all with one small bit missing or damaged. Cards from every family.occasion. I could be 90 before I've cleared stuff. Put lamps and chair on free sites. Lots of wrapping paper as my dad gave all grandchildren £ the last 10 years. Hoping someone can use.
Hi all, well they posted but then wouldn't let me write so the one with the green bits is for my ds and the one with the grey and orange bits is for my bil. They are not perfect and if I were doing them again there are things I would do differently but no time to change them now I am still rather chuffed with them though as all the yarn was from the cs and I had no pattern so made it up as I went along. I have a big bag of yarn left over which I will ponder what to do with. Take care everyone
TC77, when we cleared my parents home following my mum's death in 2005 we filled 2 skips with "stuff" that was unfit for the charity shops. That was on top of the 2 we filled following my dad's death a few years earlier when my mum cleared out. Would having a skip help you clear the broken / useless things and enable you to work through everything?
Moved things around in my room to accommodate the extra bag of my pots taken up there (I'm taking my pots out of circulation until DS3 and Beloved get their own place), took the last of the library books back, another bag of book donations to the charity bookshop and carried on to do a small shop. The frost and ice was nearly clear yesterday but it's back so very glad to have got that done. Currently under the bedclothes (having a shower would require removing clothing layers and I'm not prepared to do that yet), coughing my head off (cold air makes it worse) with quite a lot of aching/ damaged body parts. I have a hair appointment at 4 pm and am working out where I could get a taxi to drop me off (middle of pedestrianised zone but there are possibilities).
Lovely work Liverpool-Anne, very clever to make up your own pattern. I really should follow your example and make some hot water bottle covers too. It's been on my list for a long time!
Mr V is poorly, a shivery cold. He has so much work on this weekend too, poor lad. He is working tonight till 1am. Also we have an afternoon tea booked today which was my secret Santa gift last year. We have cancelled twice before due to Mothers being hospitalised, we feel obliged to go this time.
Packed the ornaments and books up from the sitting room yesterday. It all fits in 2 boxes. With no rug or stuff it feels very empty in there. The opposite of cosy. No word from the builder, I hope he turns up next week.
Warm hugs of support and congratulations where appropriate.
