Natty68 saidWell I've managed to do some decluttering but I think it kind of got overshadowed with three boxes of decorations coming back from the storage unit.
Is there a word for bringing something back that had been decluttered before?

Thanks, MrsSD, for my gold star and best wishes for Christmas and the New Year,
Your encouragement since I started decluttering means a lot to me. I did enjoy all those earlier “ French move” posts.Looking forward to the 2023 thread.
Keep safe everyone.See you on the new thread.xx10 -
Happy birthday @Siebrie
Well back from my 1 week winter sunshine holiday with friends. Came home to a very clean house as DH had bottomed the whole bathroom and replaced the broken ceiling light. It is oh so bright but apparently it can be turned down. He'd cleaned the mould on the ceiling in the kitchen and the florescent light. I had decluttered old stuff from the return journey of clothes so came back the same weight. The holiday clothes got washed and dried in the heated airer and have gone straight into the loft without ironing (can wait till next year now)
DH had his planned surgery on his arm last thursday so that is him out of action for at least 2 weeks. I did manage to get some bits of bags with debris in from the garden into the waste bin for collection today.
GD stayed at the weekend and that definitely decluttered some pennies but we also managed to declutter from the freezer too.
Have yourselves a lovely Christmas however you choose it.
Looking forward to continuing the journey with you all next year too.
Thank you @Mrs_Salad_Dodger

Belated happy birthday @Siebrie
Over the year have reduced packaging stash used to complete of drawers and some boxes. Still have a few boxes but nothing in them and one drawee empty and now has some sewing things that were on dining table. Broken unpicked binned and no working plug- phone wouldn't charge and my dads mobile and instructions in the donation bag. Broken Xmas decoration.
Dd1 and dd2 both have headphones not working, bought by me with 2 year warranty so need to follow up.dd2 could have given me hers months ago and using mine so can't give dd1 them. Hey ho something to sort out tomorrow to add to long list of frogs! Hoping to get some done tomorrow.
Healing hugs to those under the weather.
Really positive there will be a 2023 declutter thread. I think about a year ago I wanted to tackle my coloured glass collection and have whittled this down to an acceptable if still generous level through cs/ fleabay and friends. Books I think next year. Sorting photos could be 2024! X

Out - 1 blouse I never wear, 1 handbag I never use and one pair of stilettos that I have previously worn a few times, but since changing jobs last year I no longer go to any award dos or anything so unlikely to wear them anymore. Plus I have other shoes I could wear instead.I have added my goals to the 2023 thread - many thanks Mrs SD for running this, I really enjoy reading along even if I'm not at the same level of decluttering as everyone else; and every so often it gives me a boost to do a bigger declutter!2 plans over the Christmas break. Plan 1 is to rejig the office and spare bedroom due to a change in how I work from home.Plan 2 is consider where we can keep 2 electric bikes so they aren't damaged by the elements - considering purchasing a shed. I shall have to have a think.
Happy belated birthday Siebrie, your presents sound lovely! And good luck to everyone who's had things fall through xx14 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedTuesday was another of those days filled with good intentions but due to the laziness gene they remained as good intentions 😉 Although I did sort out the last of the 1p Savings Challenge & have £679.22 to spend next year - so new bras are on the agenda & hopefully can find somewhere to get my 30th Wedding Anniversary 50p put onto a chain & DH’s wedding ring resized. The scarf I am knitting is still only three quarters done 😔 The hm soup was tasty & warming but more like a broth with bits 🙁 DH filled the bird feeders again & put out more fat balls - then as he got so cold he had a bath 🙂 I had remembered to take food out of the freezer - dinner was sausages, mash & baked beans for DSis & hm chilli con carne (from a batch cook) with rice & a dollop of soured cream for DH & me. DH did the washing up & I dried & put away. I am very heartened to see that the 2023 Decluttering Thread is already attracting declutterers old & new 👏😁

Today we ventured over the hill to Cheshire to drop off the sitting room rug. I am so happy that the Berber rug has gone to a spa for a few days. He is having a bath! A spin and time in a gentle heat chamber.Have you ever seen those dirty rug vids on fb? Oh, so, so enjoyable. Our rug isn’t too bad, just at one end where Mr V’s chair is really. When the rug comes back next week Mr V will have to levitate to get to his chair. Also as the front door walks straight into the sitting room. I will keep the door locked and insist on using the back door! It will last for a couple of days if I am lucky.Every time we go upstairs we are taking something from the sitting room with us. It needs to be emptied for the builders next week. So looking forward to being able to tick another job off the list.Hope you are all keeping well. Vx:11

Out - 1 pet gate picked up by someone with a husky. I seem to have picked up a fair decluttering wind, as I've also spotted some craft bits that I will list tomorrow 😁9
