Happy Birthday , Siebrie and hugs for everyone, needed or not.
well after finding that I am13 short of my 365 target and with Ruthless ringing in my ears I set to to find enough before I went to bed.
So
1 pile of baubles- only tiny ones left which suit my tiny tree.
2 piles of plastic and paper bags for the CS
2 magazines
3 very ood toiletries from DD’s hotel and travel leavings
1 pair of knackered knickers- I’ve mended them once and that’s it
1 unused toilet bag- given to me many years ago and now off to the CS.
Realising I still needed three items I went to the bookshelves saying to myself- right - find three and I did!
And so to bed.
Totals now 352+13=365/365.
And also the first time I have posted two days in a row. I shall be back with you all next year with another 365 item to declutter.I know that for many people, Christmas can be a difficult time, so I wish everyone a lighter load and good or better health for 2023.
And keep safe!9 -
Happy Birthday @Siebrie 🎂 🥳
And a timely reminder for me re: new clutter coming in. There are things in the hamper that I'll not use - they are NOT going in a cupboard to be retrieved in 20 years time. Chocolates, socks, tea towels, smellies, will be kept. Photo props will be passed on to DS - ooo I'll take them for us to use on Christmas Day.....and then leave them at his house. A cunning plan, 😉. Flavoured tea bags (🤢 not my thing at all - but I think my colleague likes them). Scented candles and wax melter will be passed on too. Smells - even nice ones - soon give me a headache.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedTuesday is another very cold day but the laying snow is gradually disappearing - looks awful though 🙁 Last night DSis did the washing up although I dried up & put away. I have made a bits & bobs soup which is currently on the stove. DSis is in the bath & DH is having his first cuppa. I am watching Trading Places & contemplating the day ahead - you never know I might even do some work 😉
However until then I will do some cheerleading 🙂
Fizz2015, hope DD is well enough to attend her school concert 🤞 Sorry to hear that you have to work through to New Year 🙁 Fingers crossed that cards arrive before Christmas is over 🤞
wort, Thank you so much for my cup 👏 I have already added it to my signature 😉
Time really does fly vulpix 🙂 as I was reminded when I was looking back & reading the odd post from each of the yearly decluttering threads 😉 I really was quite naive 😂
Thanks QueenJess. It is always nice to know that the decluttering thread is well received 🙂 Sorry to hear about the broken heating & everything crossed that it is repaired promptly 🤞You should definitely take your chat with DH as a compliment - Ruthless is a good trait to have when decluttering 👏 Well done on the arrangements you have already made (a birthday party?) & good luck with the rest 🍀 Even when overwhelmed you still manage to get a lot done so I hope you are very proud of yourself 🥲Good luck with the 1p Savings Challenge Wednesday2000 🍀roundtuit, the good news is that when I finish this post I will be putting up the 2023 thread 🙂 Brain dumping onto paper definitely counts as decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering ruby_eskimo 👏 I will keep my fingers crossed that the Christmas cards are delivered during the Christmas holiday 🤞 bearing in mind that Post Offices are still handing out the leaflet about latest posting times e.g. 19th December for 1st class in the U.K. 🤔 Bedroom day sounds more like an excuse to spend the whole day in bed rather than changing sheets & dusting 🤣 - that will just be me then 😂
Excellent work roundtuit - the brain dump has obviously worked 👏
Happy Birthday Siebrie 🥳 🎉 🎂 What wonderful presents - especially the letters from your husband & daughters 🙂 Please remember to use your birthday money to treat yourself - you deserve it 😉That is good news that your DM is looking better, oceanspirit 😮💨 Fingers crossed that you can cross a couple of things off your To Do list 🤞Great post retiredinfrance 🙂 I knew you could do it - well done on hitting your 365 target 👏 As promised one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way. If we don’t see you again before Christmas, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you a very Merry Christmas & a Happy & Healthy New Year 🎄Great planning roundtuit 👏 Always better to keep clutter out - saves decision making later on 😉 A very cunning plan - shades of Blackadder 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏆

Hi, good afternoon all (or whatever time it is when you get to this)
I'm probably going to be carrying on decluttering and tidying in between work shifts till the end of the year, even if it's only deleting stuff when I've watched it or popping things in a charity shop bag. Aim is to get the carpet cleaner in during January, February at the latest.
Thanks for being here and thanks @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for keeping this going.

Fought my way into the far corners of the room this morning and have taken children's books, some crafty items, some festive food (including cranberry sauce and custard powder) and some useful items - including an unused can opener, unopened ibuprofen gel, and 7 x 1 l salt from mum's stash (for putting on pathways). The salt was being handed out before I left. I know it doesn't cost much but when you have nothing buying something extra is not easy, especially if you're too afraid of falling to go out and get some. Someone on another thread, who volunteered in a food bank, had to explain to other people that some people don't have a hob (or any cooking facilities at all), can't afford the gas or electric to cook with and sometimes don't have can openers. Was going to take shoelaces as we only need the long bootlaces now. The food bank people gave me flowers (only SM donated ones) but very lovely.
Dropped off the spectacles for Vision Aid at my opticians on my way there (already counted) and remembered there being a post box in front of the church (one of the coach firms mum and her partner used, used it as a drop off point - bus station opposite and a taxi firm nearby - and she's asked me to meet her off the coach several times). Anyway the Christmas cards that were stamped have gone off. I have found some second class stamps but will hold on in case there are more first class ones hidden somewhere. I've done a recount on the bin bags - the pixies have left more (DS3 has already checked which bins he needs to put out tonight).
I crossed the road and walked through the bus station and have a hair appointment on Friday at 4 pm and then went to well known firm for hot transportable food and a sandwich. I think there are more books and crafty bits for the food bank and will see if there are more in date cans that could go (that will be on Thursday at the other church food bank venue).
Amongst the treasure found during my 'things for the food bank hunt' were 2 bottles which go with the soda stream - so they're going under the stairs as the soda stream has already gone into their gadget pile. I noticed lots of interesting bits, obviously boxed as not being needed immediately or non-urgent stuff to be sorted at a later date (found the file dividers I wanted yesterday and a small expanding file that has saved items in). I keep thinking that somewhere there's a pile of receipts from March to May as they seemed a bit thin on the ground and some have already been entered in the accounts book so I know I had them at one point. Now that I've more time I will continue to go through my online diary as my taxi journeys aren't noted consistently after February. Some of the time I was being taken and brought back by ex s-i-l but then that dropped off for a couple of months after her mum died until she felt able to come back (we then did the cleaning, hiring a van to move stuff). I have a list of things that should be somewhere and think my online diary will help me piece it together - I have the Morries receipt for bedding plants but because of the biodegradable ink it has a huge blank space in the middle where all the details are.
Anyway, totting up all my recent 'wins' I am on 1716/ 1022, 306 to go which should be doable as I'm getting to the 'either this goes or my sanity does' stage. Was hoping to do more today but after getting home at 11.30 am, eating and having my shower (had eaten about 5 am and was then busy trying to get to the food bank), then finding something to put my flowers in and strapping up my quite painful ankle (both of which took far more time than I expected) I felt sleepy. Just after 3 pm I stopped fighting and had a nap which did me a lot of good but could still sleep again. I had a hobble downstairs and collected drinks, juice, grain salad and bananas to go with my sandwich and 2 small yoghurts, so will continue in here when I feel ready - or if I sleep early and then am wide awake in the middle of the night.8 -
Happy birthday siebrie. 🎂
I have been given a sealed expensive pot of face cream from someone’s stash. It doesn’t smell very good. I think there’s a moral to buying more than we need there. I will use it as hand cream though.Large plastic Christmas tree storage box sold.Vx:10 -
Happy Birthday siebrie 🥳🥳 It sounds like you got totally spoilt on your special day 🙂
Well I've managed to do some decluttering but I think it kind of got overshadowed with three boxes of decorations coming back from the storage unit.
Is there a word for bringing something back that had been decluttered before?
I have decluttered a 1lb in weight this evening so am really pleased with this 🙂
Tomorrow I am going through a kitchen cupboard and I imagine I will be throwing a lot of stuff out.

We are with you@roundtuit. I also brain dump when overwhelmed. I then cross all of it off except the most important top 3 and a few easy wins.
Nothing done today as doing childcare. DH is out of the house tomorrow and I have the whole place to myself as DDiL has take time off to use up hols. Who knows what might happen......
Hugs to all who need or want them. Keep warm and safe.

@Siebrie Happy Birthday, the gifts sound perfect.@Mrs_Salad_Dodger thanks my DD was too poorly but we were very fortunate to be seen at the Dr's this morning. It's a bad virus that is doing the rounds and has knocked her for six. She missed her concert but does have another one on Thursday. Fingers crossed.I love this thread and finally got brave enough to post. I feel like I know everyone from afar, everyone is so friendly and supportive. I enjoy catching up first of last thing.I wander if we will ever have a real life declutter meet up. I think geographically we are spread to every corner of the UK, Europe, US and beyond.10
