I've been MIA again as we both picked up the D&V virus and only now we're slowly getting our appetites back. I've really appreciated the TLC carriage and it's amenities this year, I've been in and out of it so much that the staff trust me to put the sandwiches and cakes out. 🤣🍰🍩
I've only kept up with the day to day decluttering but now I'm trying to keep up with all the cardboard boxes so that they leave the house in stead of being kept for Justin. DD dropped off more laundry yesterday so that's been washed and dried and it's now awaiting collection. Her new kitchen is still in a mess and it will be touch and go as to whether it will be ready for xmas, they'll come here if not, we're only 5mins away. DD collected her many parcels yesterday as we were beginning to look like a branch of a post office warehouse. She left most of the boxes and packaging behind for me to declutter, good old Mum 😂 I have recycled 2 wrapping paper cardboard inners and a box of my own from when I wrapped the presents today.
Monday we took Dad to the hospital audiology dept as he had broken his hearing aid in two. I went to act as interpreter shouter and thankfully he now has a new updated one 🧏♂️.
Apologies I haven't read back so I've missed about 100 posts so I hope everyone is well. Hugs winging their way for the poorly ones and anyone struggling for any reason.
MrsSD what a lovely idea of a 50p on a chain. Hope you can sort out things for your Wedding anniversary.
Siebrie happy belated birthday from me too !

Cold and pain in my leg wouldn't let me go back to sleep so pulled the support bandage back on, took some painkillers and brought a bin bag and a paper bag onto the bed. Started going through bags and boxes and had 3 emptied by the time the painkillers kicked in. Plumber called to say he had done the repair and was in town this morning so arranged for him to call for his money and to hand over the safety certificate. Took 2 bin bags to the bins but the men had already been, added 2 small ones and a paper sack as kind next door neighbour had brought it back to my gate. Found my magic gloves so the ones I used on Monday will be binned (originally bought for one of the boys but the linings are funny and could not get my fingers into the glove fingers (more trouble than they were worth).
Two more only socks binned (1 was at least 5 years old so have had my wear out of it). Moved the large shelf (wardrobe side), set the drawer bookshelf back in place and moved books back off the bed, Added 3 other small piles that were dotted around the room. Moved all the presents and wrapping paper onto the bed. DS3 went to bed so I moved my 3 orange trees into the house and onto the front room windowsill. DS3 keeps the curtains closed most of the time so it's a little micro climate - not as cold as outside but the curtains keep the heat in the room so windowsill is quite cool.
Four boxes of toilet rolls and 3 sets of washing taken upstairs (most of it in one go - lifting the bottom box up and setting it down above the highest one), Washing out of the machine but not moved into the dryer as I need to de-fluff it. I did check outside but although I can get up the path as far as the gate, I don't think it's safe yet to go across the yard to put washing lines up. 7 large pieces of cardboard outside to make the next batch of mulch. 4 small ones kept to make dividers but later taken to the back door as they weren't suitable. Took books back to the library (one missed - will take it before weekend). Had lunch. Gathered books to take to the charity book shop. Huge bag as I've picked my way through 2 bookshelves and picked up oddments from around the rooms.
Very tiring and all the benches were occupied. Luckily the bookshop has couches and comfy chairs so had a rest. Came back through the market and bought my radar key. Man had some foil roasting dishes so bought some (that lamb will get cooked - need a new roasting tin but not worth the expense for the number of times I need one). Called in B00ts to buy a meal deal but they only had one white bread unappetising sandwich left so decided I'd rummage through the freezer again. Hand delivered 2 more cards on my way home.
Wanted to do a couple more jobs downstairs. Estate agent phoned but my phone cut out (needed charging) Came upstairs and set both the phone and the laptop to charging and emailed the EA to let her know what had happened. Went back down for food, then moved a few things around and then started on the records. Have got about 300 records arranged alphabetically in boxes. One box needs further shuffling - I had several boxes on the go but had to move some across when a particular category got very large. 3 boxes are sorted but gave up when DS3 came back downstairs and put all the leftover with the half a box I'd done. Came to bed at 1/4 to 11, very tired and aching but those four boxes are packed away in the cube unit that supports the tv. We have more floor space and lots of other space too - I'm nearly ready to start furniture shuffling. I'm awarding myself 10 points per every hour I spent sorting records.
I have totted all that up and my total for today is 108 with a total of 1824/ 2022. hope to do more tomorrow but may need to rest and I'm not sure if my niece still intends us meeting up.8 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWednesday stayed very cold all day. The hm soup was slightly thicker as I had added a bit of lo mash & baked beans 😉 Finished descaling the kettle, updated my To Do list - it is very long 🙁 & knitted one ninth of a scarf 😔 Dinner was the 2nd HF meal - chicken in a creamy peppercorn sauce with roasted carrots. Delicious but a tad too peppery even for DH. Wudupa.
2152 - 2158 Kitchen recycling, 2 magazines, 2 cardboard boxes, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled2159 - 2160 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging - binned
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
vulpix, if your rug has gone to a spa perhaps you & MrV should also have a couple of spa days 😂You made watching a video sound so good, that I did 🤣 Perhaps a mat on top of the rug if MrV fails to master his levitation skills 😂 Great work relocating downstairs items upstairs 👏Great work Foofoopuppy 👏 Long may the decluttering wind blow 😉
Great work Floss 👏 An office space that you enjoy using 🙂
Sorry to hear you & Mr nanny have both been laid low, nannywindow 🙁 I hope you invited Mr nanny into the TLC Carriage 😉 The staff are wonderful hard working people so thank you for helping them out 👏 Well done on keeping up the day to day decluttering even whilst ill 👏 Poor DD must be really stressed about the kitchen work 😔 Good old mum - laundress extraordinaire & cardboard box disposal Queen 👏 The special 50p was a present from my DH on 30th September- I was going to take it to my favourite old fashioned jewellery shop only to find it had shut down in 2021 (after 128 years) 😭Sorry to hear that you are overwhelmed TC77 🙁 Hopefully the biting frogs can be dispensed with in double quick time 🤞
So sorry to hear that the cold + the pain in your leg meant you didn’t sleep grandmanerd 🙁 However all kudos to you for the decluttering & tidying you managed to do whilst waiting for the painkillers to kick in 😊 Wow, you have been so busy not only decluttering but tidying & going out 👏 - no wonder you are so exhausted 😩 I think you should spend at least a couple of hours in the TLC Carriage - you need some rest 😊 Hope the EA called back with some good news 🤞MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏆

My eye is still behaving itself ! I feel so grateful for my improved sight. I felt confident enough to go out at the weekend. DS & I had a lovely afternoon at Hampstead Heath - it was chilly but beautiful. Made it to Church on Sunday morning but since then I've hardly been out due to the snow - I'm particularly nervous about falling due to recent op! It's so unusual for me to not go out. It has meant that I have rested more and been reading more which feels lovely.
I am going to attempt to go out tonight. Feeling a little nervous as a. I don't want to fall over & b. I am worried about getting stuck due to transport issues - weather and strikes - no train strike today but there was yesterday and there is tomorrow. However, I will make the effort as its dinner with a very, very dear group of friends.

Morning all xx
There's more coming in than going out at the moment - but they're all Christmas or birthday presents so will be wrapped and exit stage left in the near future.
Yesterday I was expecting the man to come and service the boiler between 12 and 6. He arrived at 10.15. AM!!!! I wasn't dressed. There is now a traumatised heating engineer on the roads in North Lincolnshire - since he joined the select list of 'males who have seen me in my nightie' ooops. 🤣.
Boiler is now serviced. Carbon monoxide monitor has been fitted. And I was already upskittled so I went into town and finished my Christmas present shopping (after postponing day after day for a week). I also bought my Christmas TV magazine - and was mse and bought a lower priced one than I used to.....having discovered last year that it does the job just as well as the expensive ones. How much! I usually use the EPG but I don't want to miss any gems. Cue: hot chocolate and pen for circling programmes to watch over the festive season. 😊
The rubbish and recycling continues to leave the building. Bin day today: general waste bin, paper box and tins/ glass box + batteries for recycling. Fer-ling 😊
Have a good day. Go steady.

Mrs SD, I don't know about a spa day, perhaps if I could keep my vest on!
Glad to hear that poorly people are on the mend.
Home alone all day and evening today,no point cleaning, a day of telly watching and cross stitch,I don't mind if I do.

Out - 2 cardboard boxes the cats have been fighting over for the past 1.5 weeks, and have now decided they want nothing to do with. Cats are very fickle creatures, but my living room floor now seems much bigger.Someone coming round to pick up 4 crafty bits, plus some jewellery making kit posted. If no one picks up, it will go to charity this weekend.
I think over the Christmas period I might have a slimming down of my paper crafting - I don't do it so much anymore and it is just taking up space. Something to think about when I'm rejigging9 -
Hi all, sunny but very cold here, the roads have mostly cleared but the garden still has frozen snow all over as the sun is too low to get to it.
In Monday we went to visit friend's son's new house. It is lovely, a Victorian terrace with nice big rooms. Everything is livable with so they don't have to do any major work right away. Nice kitchen but a pink bathroom that the gf is apparently desperate to change. I must admit I would be too but it is livable with as everything works. When I think what a state my house was in when I moved in, bare floor boards, no kitchen, original cloth covered wiring with round pin sockets and mad 1960s wallpaper everywhere.
We had taken a few plants as a housewarming but when we were driving home we were discussing how they still needed furniture, table and chairs and wardrobe at least so we decided we would get them an 1kea voucher as most of what they have seems to be from there so they can put it towards something.
On Tuesday I took myself off to 1kia to get the voucher and have a mooch around. I did pick up a a few bits, mainly candles which were in the sale as I have completely used all I had. I also got a new small roasting pan which is just the right size for our dual microwave/ oven which we use a lot, again in the sale. I must say I do quite like their cookware. We used it a lot in work when cooking with the kids, reasonably priced and hard wearing. I stopped for a coffee, free with the family cardand a cinnamon bun as a treat
. By the time I got home it was nearly dark and I was knackered
I finished knitting the second hot water bottle cover before I went to bed.
Yesterday I made a big pan of carrot and lentil soup using some carrots from the 2 good 2 go box. OH does not eat carrots so I have to find ways to use them. I love them but I have loads in the freezer in 1 portion bags. In between I pressed the hot water bottle covers and did a load of washing, sorted and put away the last load, brought in a load of wood for the log burner as it was cold enough to light it. I took coffee into LN about 4 as it is a few days since I saw her, her gutter was fixed by neighbour on her other side who climbed out of his bedroom window and walked along his extension roof to reach it, brave man, but I do suspect it was his builders who caused the problem. The gas man has been and fixed the boiler so she has her heating back, phew, she had been at her daughter's most of the time as her grandson and great grandson were visiting, but was home to sleep. When I got in OH was home asking where I had been despite me saying earlier I was going to call in, had eaten chicken curry and nothing done for me
.
After I had sorted my tea I sorted the wet washing, emptied the bins and sat down to make the buttons for the hot water bottle covers only to discover I couldn't find my darning needle. Major hunt through the supplies next to the couch but no luck so I got the sewing basket out and sorted through that. Threw out various bits and gave it a proper tidy and found a darning needle so buttons were made but by that time my eyes were tired so I will be finishing them today. They need to be put in the post so will have to crack on
Before that I need to get in another load of wood and warm up some soup for lunch.
@Mrs SD I usually find if I blend soup, or partially blend it if you like bits, it will thicken up. I use a hand blender straight in the pan.
Take care everyone9
