Thank you.Hear hear!I know I rarely reply to conversations on this thread, but am totally overwhelmed with real life 99% of the time (decluttering usually makes me feel better and a bit more in control). I do love to see everyone's updates and progress though and spurs me onStruggling with decluttering right now because our heating is broken and we are all huddled in a single room in the day with a fan heater on. It doesn't help tidying or decluttering as you always seem to need to go to 5 other rooms just to clear a tiny space in the room you are in! A few things used up though.I am trying to make myself feel better from the conversation DH said he had with a friend. His friend was complaining about all the stuff they had due to kids growing out of stuff and his other half always says she will deal with it and he is not allowed to, but she never does. Apparently DH told him I was utterly ruthless and as soon as something isn't being used anymore, it is out the door! If I didn't, we would be overrun... since kids, I almost fail to see how anyone's house isn't rammed full of junk!I should be doing lots of stuff, but feel too overwhelmed. I did find some party bags to order for DS (plastic free and completely recyclable) and party tableware and decorations to rent that are all completely reusable. Am hoping for a waste free party. Sadly it requires me to make decisions on numbers, what items etc, but I am halfway there... At least the place and the entertainment is booked; the latter of which provided us with the invitations.4981 - gift bag (used)4982 - wrapping paper (reused)4983 - birthday card (used)

Morning all xx
My heart was glad when I saw that the thread will continue, after an earth-stopping jolt when I realised it might not. I'd just assumed it would. I need you all to travel through 2023 with me. Destination being a clutter free home / end of CHAOS to be reached by this time next year. A great big THANK YOU to you all, and especially to @Mrs_Salad_Dodger for everything you do to keep us on track. ❤
I'm in overwhelm mode too @QueenJess - I've brain dumped on paper this morning to free up some fried brain cells. Does that count as decluttering?
Next job is to put out the rubbish and recycling including the packaging from yesterday's delivery of presents for DS and GF.
Keep on keeping on.

I'd count that as decluttering @roundtuit, getting it out of your brain means you've cleared some of the clutter already so you can focus on what you actually need to do.
Wrote all my Christmas cards last night so will pop those in the post box this evening and hope they get there by new year (and means I'm decluttering them from my house!). Car tax renewal came through the post this morning and have already paid and put the form in the shredding pile (which I really need to tackle at some point...) and I confronted a Frog a phoned the home insurance people to change the bank details for the payment (I absolutely hate speaking to people on the phone so try to get DH to do these things most of the time).
It's Tuesday so that means Bedroom day so need to change the sheets and put the old ones on to wash and throw the duster around a bit.

Thank you @ruby_eskimo 😘 Written down it starts to look doable. While it was all stampeding round my head it was chaotic.
I've read that the traffic lights in town are not working so I'll forget the shopping today. I aim to put up the tree and decorate it this afternoon instead. That'll be another job ticked off.
And breathe

My tree is up and decorated. I don't have an artistic bone in my body. I use the flung together traditional approach. No colour coordination finesse here. It'll look a pigsear whatever I do....but it's my pigsear and it's up 😊
Next job is to unpack the Christmas goodies from the hamper I won. I plan to reuse the box to deliver presents to DS and GF on Christmas Day. Waste not want not.

The most important part of decluttering is making sure that no new clutter comes inToday is my 51st birthday, and I only received 1 2"x3" hard plastic card (credit card type)
: an annual Museum Pass, which gives me free access to 225 musea AND 1 day per month that husband and dds have promised to keep me free to actually visit those! Husband and dds also wrote me a letter each about how much they like/love me, which I will treasure

Happy Birthday Siebrie.
Thank you for all your kind messages re my mother. Dsis said she was looking better yesterday. OH tried to visit earlier today but the ward was closed to visitors so wasn’t allowed in. He will try again tomorrow evening as he will be there anyway.
Didn’t get cards finished yesterday but did get one more present ordered. Down to 1 present and a few cards to do in the next few days.
Keep being disturbed for various reasons so haven’t been able to get on with things today. Will make a start now and fingers crossed I am able to get something done.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅8
