I am with you energy shifter. My weight is a barometer of my emotions. I have had an extremely emotional year but intend to move forward next year. I tend to clean and tidy when I am upset as it is something within my control. Can you hear the groan? The builder isn’t coming till the new year. The recent weather has completely thrown his schedule. I am not bothered but feel like I am obligated to clean a bit and put some Christmas decorations up now. I have invited the neighbours for food on Christmas Eve after the brass band Carol concert in the cave.Vx:11

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWell, the ‘lazy gene’ is still very active. Thursday was slightly warmer but not enough to make the snow or ice melt 🙁 Finished knitting a scarf. DH filled the bird feeders again. Still no sign of the recycling men - now have a recycling wheelie bin that is full to the gunwales as has not been emptied for two weeks 😖 Dinner was the last of the HF meals - lamb steaks with a pesto dressing, mash & roasted aubergine & tomatoes with a balsamic dressing. Added roasted carrots, & peas for DSis. Delicious 🤤 Wudupa.
Paid the milkman before I went to bed. Friday is slightly warmer again but still no sign of the snow & ice melting 🙁 Too dangerous for DH to take the motorbike out so no shopping trip 😔 I have started knitting another scarf. Also put one load of washing on & started a menu plan up to & including Christmas Day.
2161 - 2174 Kitchen recycling, 7 newspapers, 5 cardboard boxes, drinks cans - recycled2175 Kitchen detritus binnedEnergyShifter, the EDT is gathering pace again with many of our fellow declutterers making a final push to have a less cluttered house before Christmas 😉 Good news that your eye is behaving itself although I would say that is down to your very sensible approach of taking care 👏 Resting & reading sounds ideal & you are sounding suitably refreshed & ready for the fray 😉 I hope you had a lovely time out with your dear friends last night 😊 Great decluttering 👏
roundtuit, a temporary blip with more in than out - I will let you off🙃 Lucky heating engineer 😂 & a silver lining to him turning up so early is that you got the last of your Christmas present shopping done 👏 Thanks for the reminder about the Christmas TV magazine 🙂vulpix, you can wear whatever you like for your spa day 😉 although a day of telly & cross stitch sounds good 🙂Excellent decluttering Foofoopuppy 👏
Liverpool_Anne - you have had a few very busy days & have got such a lot done 👏 My ‘challenge’ with Ik*a is that much as I like their items I really dislike having to traipse right the way round trying to find what I want 😔 Rather like visiting the sm when they have had a change round & haven’t updated the signage 😩 Great news about your LN - at least she now has the choice of where to spend her time 😊 Well done to your darning needle for hiding - meant you did a bit more decluttering 😉😉 Thanks for the tip re soup but sadly this time around there were not really enough bits to blend 🙁Great work ruby_eskimo 👏 Good luck with your practice run of SIMPLIFY 🍀
Wonderful news about your mum, oceanspirit 😊 Good work on the decluttering & tidying 👏

Excellent decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 & fingers crossed that you get your knitting completed 🤞Great news about your DH’s new job 🥳 especially the news that you will have the house to yourself for a couple of days a week 😉😉
Excellent work Baxtersmum 👏 I am just polishing the Gold Star which will come your way once the last 120 items are gone 😉 Looking forward to seeing you aboard the 2023 EDT 🙂
You are on a roll TC77 👏 so I am positive you will clear ‘stuff’ well before you are 90 🙂 Re the unwanted DVDs, do you have a CeX near you?Lovely knitting Liverpool_Anne 👏 especially without a pattern 🙂
Thank you for sharing your experience with us Floss 👏 Sometimes only a skip will do for a large decluttering job 😔
You have been busy grandmanerd 👏 Sorry to hear about the bad cough 🙁 Hopefully it will ease when the promised warmer weather puts in an appearance 🤞 That is the only problem with pedestrianised zones, lack of drop off points for people with mobility issues 😔
vulpix, perhaps Liverpool_Anne can share her unique knitting pattern 😉 Sorry to hear that MrV is unwell 🙁 He needs mollycoddling 🙂 Great work packing up the ornaments 👏 Everything crossed that the builder turns up & completes the work swiftly 🤞
GrannyKate, the time in Germany sounds wonderful 😊 shame about the travelling but as you say you got there & back safely 🙂 Yah boo to 2nd bathroom floor having to be decluttered but yippee to the workmen being able to deal with the issue as part of an interconnected claim 👏
Love the reminiscing EnergyShifter 🙂 Lots of lovely memories & I am especially impressed that you not only decluttered your home but also your excess weight & a toxic job 👏 An inspiring story which gives us all hope that that if we stick to our decluttering of physical items we can convert that success into other areas of our lives 😊 What a great compliment to the originators of the decluttering thread & to all those who make it such a lovely place to be 😊 P.s. One Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way as your post has been so lovingly acknowledged by several of our fellow declutterers 😊
daisy_1571 there is an old thread called “Dehumidifier v Tumble Dryer” + one called “Recommendations for dehumidifier” might be useful for info 🤞
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 and as promised one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for 5,000+ 🙂What a lovely post roundtuit 😊 especially the part about EnergyShifter giving us all hope 👏
TC77, Hopefully DB, DDs & other family members will be more helpful over the coming months 🤞Then you will be able to get a skip 😉 A timely reminder from EnergyShifter that decluttering is a marathon not a sprint 👏
florianatwobob, as you say EnergyShifter’s post was both lovely & inspiring 😉 Very organised having a tally of boxes & bags out over the years 👏 a reminder of how successful you are as a declutterer 😊
Lovely post retiredinfrance 😊
Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 Electronic decluttering is just as ‘freeing’ as physical decluttering - so well done on decluttering so many emails 👏
A busy few years Floss 😉
Oh bother vulpix & yes I did hear the groan 😫 Look on the bright side you can have a big party in the newly emptied room 😉😉 only joking 🙃 Although I must say you are taking the news about the builder not turning up until the New Year rather well 👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏆

Another day hardly going out - Caught up with a friend on Zoom - chatted for 2 hours !!! We had been planning to meet in person but the ice / train strike combo led to a change of plans. Made it out to dinner with my friends last night - it was truly lovely and the food was delicious ! We even caught some of a free soul concert at the Festival Hall after we'd eaten.
Encouraged DS to have a declutter of his room today and he did good !

I had a great time last night watching DGD's school choir (over 50 strong) in their carol concert at a local community church. They were amazing and sang their little hearts out. The church people were very welcoming and we all joined in the singing, although I mimed as I didn't want anyone to listen to Foghorn Lil (not every welsh person can sing you know !) although the man behind me would have given me a run for my money 🤣 There were free refreshments for all and every child from the choir plus those in the audience received a selection box from Santa.
DH scraped the ice off the car this morning then we went xmas food shopping, now there's only some last minute bits, fresh veg and cream to get next week.
Only decluttered 2 Sunday socks today, one from each of us, I'll use their mates as dusters, plus 50 emails and a depleted pen. I also used up 3 sour eating apples, I stewed them with a bit of sugar and ate it with ice cream. I've also finished, finally, wrapping up the presents, I I've been going so slow I was starting to go backwards!
Vulpix sorry Mr V is unwell, hope the builder returns with gusto after xmas.
MrsSD you can't say you still have the lazy gene when you have just finished a scarf and are starting another. That's not lazy in my book.
Energyshifter I'm another one who seems to have been ill a lot this year 😕 Sadly I comfort eat at the drop of a hat.
ionafan take care of yourself and best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Hugs to all, stay safe and keep warm.

Found a very cool 1940s italian coffee pot at my dad's which I thought I would have, then realised parts missing so spent about an hour googling the make and parts to no avail. They could turn up so will put to one side. Lots of things to take back for CS. Just found unopened airfix train stuff, and 1960s gardening books, one about lawns which has great photos. Not for me with my tiny north facing garden that after 27 years of failure on returfing many times is now astro! Been working so little done, but have a pile to take home - mainly for CS.

Apologies for my earlier post ( now deleted) - I thought I was on the other thread that I frequent. Don't want to be a distraction from all the good work going on here.9

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedFriday got colder & colder 🥶 DH did a quick trip out to the corner shop by bus taking the opportunity to assess whether or not it would be safe to use the motorbike. No chance & now at 3:00 a.m. there is another layer of frost on top of the ice 😱 I finished the washing & most of the clothing tumble dried - just 2 pairs of jeans hanging over the banisters. DH turned half the lo rice into egg fried rice adding ham, peas, red pepper, garlic, Thai 7 spice & an egg. I made 3 egg omelettes for DSis & me. DSis ham, mushrooms & cheese with added red peppers for me. Wudupa.

2178 Kitchen detritus binnedEnergyShifter, dinner with friends & a bit of a concert, a long chat with another friend & persuading your DS to declutter his room - I would call that a successful couple of days 👏 As you were so pleased with DS, I am sending him a medal 🏅🙂 Love the observation re Floss 😊
nannywindow, the carol concert sounds wonderful & what a generous thing the organisers did - a selection box for all the children 😊 You might have been slow in wrapping the Christmas presents but I bet they are all beautifully wrapped 👏 Hopefully 2023 will be a better year for your health 🤞The trouble with knitting is that I am using it as a displacement activity when I should be crossing things off my TO DO List 😔
TC77, everything crossed that you find the missing parts for the 1940’s Italian coffee pot 🤞 Excellent work at your dad’s place 👏
Now I am curious ionafan 🧐😉 I might even look around 😅😉
