Hi, just popping in 👋
My garage is currently filled with stuff that isn’t mine! It’s such a thought to even go in however I had to on Sunday morning at 5am when I’d no heat / hot water as that’s the where the boiler lives. When my son was decanting his stuff in August I’d said make sure there’s room for me to get the lawnmower out and a path to the boiler. So I could reach the boiler but there’s just so much stuff.Anyway I’d brought out a big box of stuff that had mum stuff in and processed through that one day mid week. Some for charity, some for recycling and the paperwork that went with her wheelchair found and dropped off at my friends mum and dad who’d bought it off me the other week. It still has 5 months warranty if anything goes wrong. There are still several piles of mum stuff to deal with. And if I do that I can get son stuff up the back and out the way. And son will send for his things once he has a permanent address.Anyway log delivery came on Thursday and I’d decided it was going in the garage rather than the trail round to the back of the house that is the leaky log shed. So I said to chap just leave it in front of the garage and I don’t think he believed it was going to go in! I actually felt like taking a photo to say ‘see!’ So my logs are tidy at least! ( and will be dry)
Had to go in to town yesterday so took a big bag of stuff to charity shop. Mum stuff, stuff from work, and a gallery of picture frames I’d got last year for free.I’ve managed to pass on several bags of Christmas decorations that’s I’d accrued over the years that I no longer needed and they’ve actually gone to schools with teachers who’ve picked them up so it’s nice to know they’re going to a good home! It’s just little and often I think, just to chip away. I’m having a very ( as in very) quiet Christmas and have asked for no ‘stuff’ . I’ve processed so much ‘stuff’ this year I just don’t need it nor actually want it.Have a lovely weekend and again another big thank you to Mrs SD your encouragement and kindness really do make such a difference ( as do medals 😆)10 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedOops, we fell off the first page 😬 Saturday has been a slightly warmer day & quite a bit of the snow has melted although the road is still icy. DH stayed up until 11:00 a.m. listening to Test cricket then had a few hours in bed. I have cleared a few more programmes from TV planner & knitted a bit more of the next scarf & napped on the sofa. Dinner was burger, chips & baked beans. DH washed up.

Hi. I have the cold. Blergh.Went to visit a friend yesterday. Her house is lovely but I must say chuffin freezing. We should have been going out but she has had a bereavement and didn’t feel up to it.Friends lovely decorated house made me feel worse about my house. Particularly the bathroom and kitchen. A distinct lack of a cosy feel at chez Vulpix. Bare laminate floors don’t help down stairs.Mr V working all day and evening so I will have a crack at cleaning the sitting room and putting some Christmas decorations up.It is Mr V’s Birthday today. We will celebrate tomorrow if we feel better.Take care all Vx:11

Morning All, was out in the fresh air yesterday without freezing. 3 degree's felt balmy. Though my new thermal leggings under jeans kept me very warm. Met a friend, had a Santa's gotta and free crafts set up where we went. The children loved it and Santa was authentic and spent ages talking to the children, it was lovely.
Finally decluttered Dd's craft cupboard and filled the paper recycling sack. Also got rid of 20+ old magazines and 4 sports bra to my friend. Half the Xmas presents are wrapped already, will finish rest today after heading to town to return stuff.
Then to sort all the holiday stuff and dust off the suitcases.
Have a good day all, pouring with rain here.8 -
Inspired by previous posts about decluttering being a marathon rather than a sprint I’ve tallied up the numbers since we started tracking (which it turns out was 2017). Is the house the way we want it yet? Nearly
Can we still declutter more? Absolutely.Have we moved to maintenance in at least some areas. Yes!!
The last bag for this year of charity stuff went yesterday so the total decluttered since 2017 are:
199 bags to charity (gulp)
37 boxes shipped to Ziffit
1 skip
1 bulky waste collection
1 garden freebie day
These figures don’t include the bits sold on eBay, marketplace or given away via our local reuse ♻️ page.Oh and there is already a Ziffit box started for 2023!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Mrs SD - Thanks for DS' medal - his expression was an interesting combination of pleased & bewildered when I told him about it !!!
Vulpix - I've got the same issue re: the laminate flooring! I actually really like it like that in the Summer but I agree it doesn't look very cosy in the Winter. I bought a large rug for the living room this year and it has helped a bit. Sorry you have come down with a cold - wish you better. x
Floriana - what an achievement over the last few years! I love your questions to yourself - I would answer them very similarly !

Brought car load back from my dad's! Have used small bits of xmas paper and those saved from I think 2020s xmas to wrap some stocking pressies, and unpacked some stuff - so much more to do. Hoping to get abit sorted today.
Have written complaint letter to company who I have unsubscribed from at least 6 time and keep sending me carp.
Also ploughing through the several notebooks I have on the go , and want to only use one. The reason for more is that I can't find the one I'm looking for!
Still can't find address book so need to emails those I haven't been able to send cards for - will take longer than writing a card:(
Keep waking up thinking/dreaming about work so trying to do a priority list for it.
Keep warm and safe, still very cold in and out of the house!8 -
Impending gift giving is starting to stress me out thinking about all the things the kids will acquire (I’ve given up trying to control grandparents as they don’t listen - mine are the only grandchildren on both sides) and both kids also have birthdays in the first 1/4 of 2023.
Got DS to pick 10 things to get rid of In his room to make space. Some go to DD so won’t leave the house. Found a few things to go though. Just need to keep it all going to make sure we’re not overrun!

I've had a similar issue - my home has laminate in the living room & last winter I bought 3 matching rugs on Fb marketplace & put 1 under my sofa and 2 laid side by side under the table. They have made a big difference.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi all
Sorry for being AWOL, RL is really busy.
I'm decluttering my current FT job! I am still going to be working FT (plus 4 PT jobs!) but my new FT job is 6 miles away compared to 27 miles, 1-2 eve mtgs a month compared to 4+ and only in the office twice a week compared to 3 times - yay! I am sad to leave my current job as my colleagues are lovely but I want a better work - life balance. Plus I'll have more time to declutter .....
I agree with the comments about laminate flooring, it's practical but not warm in winter. I had a lovely green tufted rug from the Swedish shop but my cats used it as a toilet - can only assume they thought I'd provided an indoor grassed area for them ?! I daren't buy another rug in case the same thing happens
Thank you for my medal from ages ago Mrs S_DAs @mhagster says above, your support and encouragement and caring nature makes this thread such a warm place to be - thank you xxx
