I seem to have rediscovered my decluttering mojo at the moment. Probably means I’ll have got rid of everything I can before the start of 2023 and then struggle! All progress is good though. Charity bags sent off and I’ve already started the next one. At least it’ll get through my stash of delivery bags!
Next size up clothes for DD retrieved from the rammed cupboard and will go through the wash this week. I can then file it in the big drawer at the bottom of her wardrobe ready for when she goes up to the next size. More clothes investigations needed in her room (cupboard boxes and one of the drawers) it gets out of control so quickly when the size changes every 6 months! I also need to start making notes on what is missing for next size up for both DD and DS, so I can source those before they need them. Should just be a few gaps here and there.5038 - packaging (used)

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedMonday has definitely been warmer but very windy. The torrential rain that was forecast never materialised 🙂 Woke up very late so the trip out with DH never happened although DH did go to sm on the motorbike & stocked up on soft drinks & mixers + a few bits. DSis did a wash load but used td rather than whirligig 😔 She received a call from her son - he has to pay to receive the parcels she sent - yet another “benefit” of leaving the EU 😡 I have spent the day watching TV & reading. The HF box was delivered at 3:00 p.m. - several hours earlier than usual 👏2190 - 2193 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, plastic packaging & kitchen detritusI am miles behind on the cheerleading, so I will attempt to catch up 🤞Rather you than me EnergyShifter 😉 Great decluttering 👏 Pleased & bewildered sounds about right for your DS’s reaction to his medal 😉 He probably thinks we are all barking 🤣
Good luck with sorting the stuff from your dad’s house, TC77 🍀 Does this company have an online presence/chat room if the complaint letter fails? Fingers crossed that your address book surfaces before you start the emails 🤞QueenJess, The silver lining to the cloud of all the extra gifts/stuff from the grandparents is that you have 8/9 months to declutter before the next load arrives 🥲 Excellent decluttering with your DS’s input 👏
Floss, I am enjoying this conversation about laminate flooring. I am very tempted but know that I would trip over any rugs 😉
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, an FT job & 4 PT jobs - no wonder RL is so busy 🤩 You barely have time to sleep let alone declutter 😱 Shame about the rug 😭 I’m blushing again ☺️Enjoy your 9 day fortnight Floss - sounds like a great idea 😊
Deni, I forgot to congratulate you on your new job 🥳 & fingers crossed that once you have been there a while you can also get a condensed fortnight 🤞
bit_by_bit, sweep ups sound good 👍 & maybe you might be lucky with the odd coin found when you are out & about 🤞Although I have to say that with the COL crisis I am not having a lot of success 😉 Good luck with getting tasks done today 🍀
This 9 day fortnight sounds like it is gaining in popularity, florianatwobob 😊

Very nice @vulpix.
MrSD. I haven't found any coins for weeks and I do a lot of walking.
I had an unexpectedly free morning as GS3 in ED with the third day of high temperatures. Nothing obvious. He is very snotttery and of course a bit grouchy. Not one to waste time I took the opportunity to clear off and clean my dresser. Some ornaments are going to the CS.
My chores list was halved after dropping the chainsaw and a gift from a friend to another friend, 1 of mine and 2 of a friends bags of blankets and a bag of baby hats to go to African hospitals with my friend. I have a few left to donate to the local radio station collection.
I have childcare duties tomorrow and expect some wood to be delivered for a swing construction. That is if all the bits arrive by Wednesday and the rain holds off.
Had a disturbed sleep du to a family drama last night.
Keep well all. Hugs for all who want or need them.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. DD1 stayed last night as went to a&E had a reaction with some medication, got her headphones to send off with DD2 and lent her mine, she was shocked at the state of DD2's bedroom and couldn't believe it when I said her room used to be like it!
hoping someone will pick up my spare office chair tomorrow and someone interested in a recliner at my dad's, possibly a lamp as well. meant to be a half day from work but only managed a few hours but have started tidying. headphone packed to send, couple of things in CS bag, few pressies wrapped. I did buy some ikea fake plants which I have put on shelves - not quite sorted yet but will post a pic before the end of the year.
Couple of small frogs and about to make list of frogs to get done this week - will include decluttering £££ but then I will know what I have to budget for next 6 months.

I was saying that I am going to do a big declutter in 2023 and then realised there is no time like the present!
Two bags of stuff to donate. I did list it all while I was going through it but it was basically clothing, some crockery and unopened makeup.

Now to catch up on cheerleading 😉grandmanerd, I am completely exhausted reading about your efforts over the last few days 🥱 😩Excellent decluttering 👏You are an absolute marvel 🤩 At the rate you are going you will reach your target very soon 🙂 DS3 is going to have a shock when he moves out 😬 when he has to perform all the tasks you currently do for him 😉 As to hiding the extra crockery & cutlery I am very impressed 👏
Very generous short_bird 👏
I am curious too, Floss 🧐 DS3 is in for a rude awakening 🥲
I do not have the superlatives to describe such a Herculean effort weenancy 🤩 Your first complete year as President has been an outstanding success 🥳 Good news that the library is finally back to pre-Covid opening hours 🙂 As to your roommates, what can I say other than your persistence has been admirable to behold & if I remember correctly you have managed to get a couple of them to help out even if it was only once in a blue moon 😔 As to the cats, no wonder you think more is coming in than going out if one of them is ‘donating’ towels & placemats to the clutter 😉 Sorry to hear that the Christmas spirit has not claimed you but there are still a few days to go 🤞Seeing your great niece & nephew in The Nutcracker sounds wonderful 😊
Thank you for sharing your circumstances grandmanerd 👏 The situation sounds rather challenging and to be fair you are coping extremely well 🙂 The Covid lockdowns have caused no end of problems even for those people who weren’t struggling previously 😔 Hopefully when DS3 & his gf get their own place, they will resume cooking & regain their confidence. Nothing wrong with nesting - especially when ill health curtails your activity. You still manage to do so much that it makes me tired reading about everything you do. Gently nudging DS3 to use his height & his DIY skills will hopefully help him to regain his confidence & getting gf back in the kitchen cooking will help her regain her confidence 🤞
vulpix sounds like even when your children leave they never actually leave 😉 Re the football I completely resisted any temptation to watch although it sounds like female fans had a far more pleasurable experience than is usually the case & the actual football was pretty good. Regardless of feeling a bit ropey, you still managed to get a lot done 👏 Sending healing vibes your way.
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 & yippee to the Room of Doom no longer being a Room of Doom 🥳 Your hard work is paying off 🙂
Sorry that circumstances prevented you from getting to Church EnergyShifter 🙁 but safety first 😉 As you say a very productive day 👏 I am not really a Christmas person so apart from sending Christmas cards I am always way behind & I only have 2 people to buy presents for 🥲
oceanspirit, lucky year 13 then 😉 Sounds like the clothes situation is pretty much sorted so very well done 👏 As to the papers, I empathise as I have the same issue - I am too scared to get rid of paperwork although I have got better over the years 🤞Hopefully I can make 2023 the year of conquering the paperwork 🤞
roundtuit, what a result - family visit & an item out 👏
Fingers crossed that you finish reading your weighty tomes florianatwobob 🤞
Siebrie, What a great suggestion for grandmanerd 👏 I have a grabby thing (from when DH had his accident) which has proved very useful picking up litter when the foxes have ripped open rubbish bags 😉 Also thanks for the very interesting information re furniture sizes for taller people - not something I have ever considered but makes sense as my DH is 6’2” & does struggle with dining room chairs etc. Hmm, don’t quite know what to say about your DH not believing in routines 🤨 - I would have thought he would realise that when you have children routines are a lifesaver 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏
vulpix, what a beautiful room & I love the lanterns that bit_by_bit wombled for you 😊
Siebrie, I think grandmanerd is an inspiration to us all with her 2023 plan 👏
Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Always best to make use of your decluttering mojo when it grabs hold 🙂Remember the more you sort out & organise in 2022, the easier it will be to keep in control of your children’s clothing in 2023 😊
bit_by_bit, it seems people are keeping a firm grip on their loose change. Sorry to hear that GS3 is so unwell that it necessitated a trip to ED 🙁 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hopefully no more family dramas 🤞
TC77, sorry to hear about DD1 - sending get well wishes & the hope that any new medication will sort out the original health issue. Fingers crossed that all the items listed are ‘liberated’ from your home 🤞 I think the Quiet Carriage will prove very popular 😉😉
What a great start to your 2023 decluttering, Wednesday2000 👏 Look at all that clear floor space 😊By the way I really like the colour of your carpet 🙂

Well that's the Christmas money decluttered.
None of it has gone on christmas though!! One of the dogs has decided to consume a medication tablet of DH's that landed on the floor - his fault!! So a phone call to the vet then to ring the national help line for toxicicity for animals and £35 before you speak to a person. Who then tells me to ring the vet as they both need to be made sick!
So both dogs dropped off and had to go home to get the reference number for the vets to be able to use too.(Pity the help line didn't tell me to take it with me!)
The journey to the vets was absolutey chock a block each time (3 times ) came home home with 1 dog.
The culprit who we thought and it appears to be was left behind for further treatment. Had a phone call early this morning to say she is doing OK and happily ate the 30 tablets at a time she needs to have. Told them she will eat most thingswill be picking her up this evening after all her treatment has been given.

Morning fellow declutterers
@Floss - yes we are neighbours - I had a shopping trip to the Ch Oaks shopping emporium on Sunday - decluttered some money but got a couple of bargains including a weekend bag for me so i don't have to take my clothes and toiletries in a bag for life when i visit my family !
I had my last full day in the office yesterday, I have to pop back tomorrow but that's it now - I won't miss the long journey, regular late nights and 10 minute walk from the car park (uphill!) but I will miss my colleagues . My boss gave me a box of M£S florentines & a bottle of prosecco as a parting gift which i was delighted with.
Yesterday I dropped off 2 bags at the CS which had been on the landing for 3 weeks

I'm ill - not very, not in pain and suffering (though there's a little bit of that) which is why it took a while for the penny to drop. For the past few days I've started well but quickly ran out of steam. Very tired and drowsy and there's a slight 'whisper' to my breathing. Yesterday I was writing a longish letter to my cousin to put with her card (was on the weekend list but didn't get that far) and my phone rang. Quite close to me and I'd had it the day before to confirm my identity before changing a minor detail on one of my accounts. It rang and I hunted and then whoever it was sent a message or voicemail. I'd tipped out the 2 most recently used bags on the bed (hoping I'd put it back in one of them).
I got very upset (more than the situation warranted really), abandoned the letter and resumed the tidying of my room. I've worked my way into the corner next to the drawers I use as a bedside table - quite a lot of shuffling because I had to move the bed across as far as it will go, fished everything out from under the bed and . chest of drawers (very carefully because I didn't want to dislodge any of the things I'd already rescued). Not enough room to get down and look underneath but I think I've got everything - but still no phone.
By that time I'd found another place for things to hide. The cod has to be a few inches out from the wall because the standard size anglepoise-type lamp needs about 5" to accommodate its' heavy base, so things had fallen off that side of the drawers too. Very awkward to get to, at one point I'd worked my way half way into a space to retrieve something and then the only way out again was to turn nearly 360 degrees so I could use my good knee to lead going back onto the bed.
Watched a film in the afternoon and through to the evening with some reading (I've had to start on my Christmas book pile) and continuing to sort little bits (the rubbish and paper recycling are stacking up). Anyway I'm going to treat myself gently, make what progress I can but will have to do yet another revision of what I can tackle before I go to DS1's (I hope you all realise that that is shorthand for DS1 and darling d-i-l's).
They've lost a pork joint so will go and persuade them to do a sorting of their freezer whilst looking for it. Back later9
