1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWednesday was a dry warm day. DH filled the bird feeders again 😬 He also phoned his sister & had a long chat. DH & I popped out to M&S Food Hall - picked up a few treats & managed to find a small pack of turkey so can save the joint of turkey for New Year. I also got some cash for the Recycling men’s Christmas Box. I couldn’t find a present for DH - he is very difficult to buy for as if he wants something he buys it 😔 as does DSis 😔 I have almost finished knitting another scarf 🙂 Dinner was the 2nd HF meal - was supposed to be Shepherds Pie but they had sent beef mince (although there was 50% more 😉) Of course that meant it was cottage pie & I was gratified to be told by DH that he prefers my cottage pie 🥲😊 Carrots & peas as an accompaniment. Wudupa
Thursday is overcast & grey 😔 I was up before 9:00 a.m. but missed the recycling men - I will hang onto their Christmas Boxes & hope to catch them over the next couple of weeks 🤞Although this year I have managed to catch the postman who looks a bit grumpy but whose face broke out into the most enormous smile 😃 Made my day 😉
2196 - 2198 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled
2199 - 2200 Kitchen detritus, plastic packaging- binnedFingers crossed that you are all feeling better over Christmas vulpix 🤞 Pleased to hear that the rug enjoyed its Spa day 😉 Well done on the decluttering - everything out is a win 👏ruby_eskimo, I always try to hand out the Christmas Boxes then I know the correct people have got them 😉 Sadly they sometimes don’t get their envelopes before Christmas but everyone generally does such a good job over the year that I rather enjoy giving out a Christmas Box. Well done on keeping the house tidy rather than worrying about decluttering 👏 I quite agree that it is such a fuss for one day - but annoyingly I get caught up with it each year especially since DSis moved in 😖 One of DH& my best Christmas dinners was sausages with full roast accompaniment 😂 - the meat we had bought & frozen was not fit for consumption. How aggravating bit_by_bit 😖 Everything crossed that all the pieces come together & the swing is ready before the New Year 🤞 Great work reducing your jobs list 👏
Yippee to decluttering both your cold & work EnergyShifter 🥳 A very effective symbolic act 🙂 Sorry to hear about the loss of a Corporate client but pleased to hear that you can cover the drop in earnings at least temporarily 🙂 Wishing you every success in updating your business model 🍀Love your profile pic - teddy is lovely 😊
weenancy, that made me smile - celebrating all holidays whatever nationality 😁 I looked up Kwanzaa (every day is a learning day🙂) I do hope that someone else is organising Karuma 😉 As you have mentioned your intentions for next year, I have reserved you a seat on the 2023 EDT 😊
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 Very pleased to hear that you are getting some proper TLC 😊 Thanks for the reminder re massages - I really must get my ‘arris in gear & book a few sessions 😉
grandmanerd your energy & determination always amazes me 🤩 You get so much done & are always planning ahead 👏 I have absolutely no doubt that you will hit your target 🎯 As to DS3, I think the best Christmas present he could give you is to help you with the heavy work in the garden 🤞😉 Please, please take care - I do not want you to injure yourself by doing too much 🙏 Hopefully the ‘grabbers’ will come out of hiding as they can be very useful 🤞
What a nightmare TC77 & not helped by the fact that the bank have rather fallen down on their duty of care 😖 I know it will be more work, but once the situation is sorted to your ‘complete satisfaction’, I would definitely write a complaint letter. By sharing with us, you are making sure that you will not have to remember all the relevant information & your feelings at the time. Hopefully, having expressed her concern DD1 will lend you a helping hand in clearing at least some of your clutter 😉🤞Do please take some time to visit the TLC Carriage - a neck & head massage might be a good way to release some of the tension caused by the credit card saga 😊
I ‘fourth’ EnergyShifter, florianatwobob & Fizz2015’s good wishes 🙂
Fizz2015, all very well sticking to a list but everything looks sooooooo tempting 😅 Good job I usually ‘allow’ DH to do most of the shopping 😂 although he is more likely to be tempted than I am 😉😉 Now, I hope you have dealt with the most important task………..packing for your holiday 😊 & what a coincidence re a colleague being on the same flight 🙂
No signs of movement from upstairs yet 😂P.S. received two lovely bits of post today - a thank you card from the couple whose wedding we attended in October & a couple of photos from the wedding in France which we were unable to attend 😊 My new bright spots of the day 😊MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅🥇 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ 🏆

Sorry to hear that @EnergyShifter. My Dsis (self made business woman and entrepeneur) used to say that you should always have a plan B and try not to keep all your eggs in one basket re money. Good luck with a new future where no doubt a new door will open shortly.
Thankyou @Mrs_Salad_Dodger. I do believe that you should round off your year with another of these 🥇 Thankyou for all your support, good advice and consistent cheeriness over the year.
So its clean up day. I have a few hours before heading off to DG3s 1st birthday party.
Last night I did a timeline on my financial spreadsheet for all the expected expenditure over the year. It includes birthdays, festivals, holidays and house and health insurances, car costs etc. It comes to a lot of cash. However I can see when the bigger expenses are coming out ansd when the lighter months are. I can't believe I didn't do this before as I always have unexpected surprises just when I have no money. I can plan a lot better now.
So its clean up day. I have a few hours before heading off to DG3s 1st birthday party so will hit the downstairs. DH is off work so he will help.

Thanks for the inspiration @bit_by_bit, I just did our timeline for the next 12 months too, so I can clearly see when I need to make sure I've hit our savings goals by for all the things that are going on next year!

I managed to get my binmen's Christmas box of M&S biscuits out to them today, I stuck a Merry Christmas sticker on & put it into a large clear plastic bag then left it on top of the bin.

Thank you for empathy with bank scenario. Rang their customer experience team but the thought of going through all of it was too much so submitted online complaint. Then new card arrived - no idea if safe to use! fortunately I have another, this was for extra expense I know is coming.
Some bills paid, and frogs at lunchtime as working til end of tomorrow . Some people failed to pick up free offers which does happen but frustrating!10 -

Work has been decluttered for the remainder of the year! All was going swimmingly until 2pm when I had to look at some work!I fear the fridge freezer may need to be decluttered and replaced next year. After getting the hump as DBro left the freezer door open slightly, then the extreme heat causing it to freeze up as it got over excited it now appears to have got the hump from the cold snap (it is next to an external wall) and decided that the fridge chilling was once again an optional feature!I seem to have got to it before it became a too serious issue and the fridge is now chilly (thank heavens for Lurpak being a solid reliable indicator of fridge temperature). If everyone can keep their fingers crossed that it behaves nicely over Christmas/NY I would appreciate it. 😄✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

@florianatwobob good luck with the freezer and fridge, fingers crossed for you.
Just got more food and of course forgot things so will go out again, maybe early lunchbreak, luckily only a 7 min walk from the shops, although tonight was a drive to big shop.
when DD1 stays wants to do some uni work in peace so may need this PC in my bedroom - yikes chaos as work things, father xmas presents, wrapping paper and files!11 -
I shall be completely finishing tidying the house tomorrow (honest!). Just did the hallway today. Everything is 80% tidy, but the last 20% seems to take 90% of the time…. Anyway, just that, washing clothes and changing beds. Then that’s me done for this year. No specific decluttering in 2022 now besides anything I stumble across - want to spend time with the kids.
5049-50 - paper (recycled)
5051 - packaging (used)
5052 - deflated balloon (binned)
5053 - kids clothes too small (charity bag)
In 2023 I will be attempting to empty, clean and put back anything I still want based on one shelf/drawer/box etc per weekday. It’s not regimented, so if stuff happens and I miss some days there’s no stress; I’ll just pick it back up again as soon as I can. Hopefully it means my house will be cleaner and permanently being decluttered! Taking a break for 2022 as I feel I’ve earned it this year!2025 decluttering: 3,324🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅🏆🌟🏅

6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedApart from the completion of another scarf & starting another one, all I did today was watch TV & sneeze all day. Wrote a small shopping list for DH - forgot baked beans, sugar & a sliced loaf yesterday. DH came back with two full bags for life 😔 Dinner was takeaway fish’n’chips as I had napped for a couple of hours & it was half past seven. In bed before midnight & managed 4 hours sleep before coming down for a Horlicks drink & a cheerleading session. Someone else did the washing up 😉👏
2201 - 2203 Kitchen recycling, cardboard packaging, drinks cans - recycled
2204 Kitchen detritus - binnedThank you for my medal bit_by_bit - added to my tally 😊 My last post on this 2022 thread will be the Awards Post 🙂 Excellent work setting up a Financial Timeline for 2023 - anything that can aid in planning should help keep life a little less stressful 🙂 Hope you enjoyed the birthday party 🥳
Pleased to hear you were inspired ruby_eskimo 😊
How lovely Floss & what a great way to make sure Christmas Box is received without having to wait up 👏TC77, what a rather naff name for a Complaints Line 😔 I quite understand your reluctance to phone & to resort to an online complaint form. Hopefully the online team will be more efficient at their job 🤞 Great decluttering of bills & frogs 👏
Great work EnergyShifter 👏 decluttering at glacial speed is still decluttering 😊
Enjoy your time off florianatwobob 🙂 Everything crossed that the fridge/freezer behaves itself until the New Year Sales kick in, which will also give you an opportunity to empty down the contents 🤞Good luck picking up your ‘forgotten’ bits of shopping TC77 🤞Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 You have earned your time off so do try to take it easy over the Christmas period - taking care of little ones notwithstanding 😉
