MIA for a few days. A very unpleasant lurgy which I may have caught fron GS3 as he has had a vomiting bug as has his mum. I did 4 days of childcare in a row then bang. Anyway. Feeling mostly ok now. Just 'off centre' . DD cominghome at the weekend but I haven't done anything to clear her room. It is a staging/sorting space at the moment and still full of photos and pictures plus frames for sorting. I started about a month ago but came to a full stop.
Well done to all for the little wins, not matter how tiny, as well as the big ones. Many of worry about not doing enough and get overwhelmed with what we have to do. Me too. Loving the list making. That is one habit that I ususally do stick to. Keeps me focussed and I don't berate my self for not completion. I do pat myself on th back for anything ticked off though.
This week I turned up at a friends to deliver the bras I have been collecting for an anti rape project abroad. I came back with 9 bags of clothing for the CS. I have delivered half of it will do the rest today. These are 'in and out' bags so not in main total.
Todays plan is to got to the PO and send of some online sales I have had whilst ill, drop off stuff at the CS. I need to clear DD room and clean downstairs. Not too big a jog as mainly clear npw.ย
See you tomorrow @vulpix

This week feels like my first "proper" week of semi-retirement ! (3 day working).ย Went to Aqua Aerobics first thing yesterday then managed to get to the shops - got a couple of pairs of much needed trousers, some bras & a huge and extremely warm housecoat thingy.ย Almost bought a large rug yesterday in TK Maxx - I have laminate floors downstairs and would like it to be cosier for the winter.ย Decided not to buy it as it'd be too difficult to carry then found the exact same one online for ยฃ35 less !! (ยฃ65 instead of ยฃ100) - I'llย measure up today to make sure it will fit and if so will order that.ย ย
Best news from yesterday was that my persistence ringing the eye clinic asking about cancellations paid off and I got an earlier appointment for my pre-surgery assessment - its now on Tues 4th instead of Tues 18th.ย I'm assuming I'll have a better idea of when surgery is likely to take place after that which will be helpful.ย
Today - I have Aqua Aerobics again this afternoon - other than that mostly planning &ย pottering.ย I will alsoย try to take a trip to Blackheath charity shops as I am looking for a nice dress to wear to an event mid-Oct.ย ย
834.ย Got earlier appointment at eye clinic
Love to allย

No luck on the dress hunting -Thankfully I've still got 2 weeks to find something suitable. .ย I have a lot of nice dresses already but the ones that are the right colour (ie not black) are Summer dresses...ย The hunt continues....ย
835. Paid household insurance
836. Completed medical questionnaire ahead of Tues appointment
837. Made hairdressers appointment (more complicated than it sounds)ย

Hi all, another morning spent at OHs house with the decorator though OH came to relieve me at lunch time which was good as it was heavy rain and I couldn't get a thing done in the garden and I was just knitting listening to the radio and a bit tired and bored without either feeling able to relax or feeling productive. Anyhow the bathroom ceiling and the hall, stairs and landing have been done so that is 1 big job done.ย
The weather is looking pretty dire here for the next week or so unfortunately so I probably won't get the garden sorted this week and the tip goes on to winter hours as of tomorrow so I will probably end up with garden waste being carted round in the car for a day instead of going straight there hmm
Lovely chat with my niece who is now back in the Caribbean so all well there.
@Mrs SD, hope the weather wasn't too bad for your trip and you managed to have a lovely time. They do need the water in Yorkshire despite it being the wettest September for a few years.
Take care everyone11 -
9 bags and sacks went out to the bins. Some I'd collected and gathered over the past few days and loosely tied to roll them downstairs but no energy to get as far as the bins. Several had mysteriously arrived in the kitchen (their's I presume) but DS3 had moved the ones I'd sent down away from the bottom of the stairs to the back door. Just happy that Belovedย is feeling well enough to start tackling the mess. A couple of part filled bags went into one and I did a trawl around the yard and I went as far as the gable end to retrieve the bin that DS3 put out on Tuesday for the Wednesday collection. One of the neighbours brought the bins back last week and it made me so happy I could have cried.
Yesterday was wild and wet. Warm tunic, winter trousers (only velour joggers but very thick and warm and can pass as velvet for evening wear) and dug out the scarf DS2 and his Beloved bought me last December. I had a mission. Gathered my bags, got downstairs, opened the back door - bucketing down. Had to go back and fish out my winter coat from behind my bedroom door, my little rain poncho wasn't going to cut it.
The rain hadn't let up much but set off to the solicitor's to tell them about the new offer and pay the 'expenses' fee they wanted. Then went to the library. Sat down for a while, returned my books and picked some new ones. It was nearly 1 pm when I left - it was Cinema Club yesterday but I'd already decided to give it a miss. I was feeling ambivalent about Spielberg's "West Side Story" and I checked the evening film and it was yet another version of the Scottish Play (they must both be on the exam syllabus) so fine to miss out.ย
Went to the 2 nearest cs to look for a warm fluffy cardigan (no joy), picked up some food then decided I'd definitely had enough. Left my coat to drip over a chair (it's waterproofed but the fur around the hood was looking very sad, after obscuring my vision all the way round), gathered up a few extra food items, hauled myself upstairs (bags went up one or two steps ahead of me) and back onto the bed. Stayed there all afternoon, eating, reading, resting, getting warm (feet tucked under the covers).
A productive afternoon spent jotting down ideas about what I want to do - I'm working on 3 month goals because I'm definitely off course on the weight loss and still 'drifting' because my life and identity have been centred around caring for mum for the past 6 years. Wrote down what I want to do in the next few days (recovery period) and jotted down 'to do's' I mustn't forget plus some longer term things. A few items dealt with including letting the other hospital I use know my CoA and phone number. I let my GP know and in theory it filters through but it has problems going beyond the borough boundaries.
Soย 516/ย 23022.

Lovely but busy day yesterday. a race really to get to places in time. Hopped from the CS (1 bag out) to the dentist, to the hospital to drop DS2 off for a hand appointment, to 5 quick mins at a McMillan coffee morning to have a go on the raffle. Drove up to see vulpix for a flyby hello. Thanks for the bras and bitsย
Up to Manchester to sort out SiL and BiL electrics. Got a meter reading Then to DDย to pick her up and up th Rochdale to pick up a painting requested by a friend for her birthday. Its a shared cost thankfully. Finally home at 10pm. Needless to say I slept well.
Today its my shift at the CS so nothing much else to be done. Have a good day everyone.ย
PS 99/100 bags out. I am taking another bag to the CS today so that wwill mean I have reached target. Not counted yet as it hasn't left the house.ยWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Hi all, off to the footy so not much else will be done today
. Have a good day

We've been over to Dad's most of today and I binned the insides of the flush mechanism from his toilet as DH put in a new one for him, hope that counts. I was the go-fer throughout the job. Oh, I get all the best ones, turn the water off.........turn it back on, pass me another rag etc ๐
I did 2 loads in the wm and hung them out on the whirly before we left home and thankfully it was dry by time we got home. It's all been sorted and put away except a couple of pairs of joggers, they're on the airer indoors till morning as the waistbands are damp. I have recycled the plastic fruit containers and binned several plastic carrier bags from an online shop at Iceland. They've changed the carriers and now these are no good to man nor beast as they are about 12" deep and 3' long........ unless you need to carry 2 rolls of wallpaper! Our council won't take them in recycling either ๐
Started to work my way through the caravan stuff that I've brought back home, 2 plastic water bottles and a melamine fruit bowl have gone into the cs bag already, never used any of them and just kept carrying them back and fore between the 'van and the house ๐คจย Decluttered a nail brush and the washing up brush as they had very few bristles, but they have been replaced. 2 skimpy summer tops are now in the cs bag, they are much too skimpy for me! I've had them a while but hardly worn them.
MrsSD hope you're having a lovely time away and DH and DSis are well now.
Hugs to anyone struggling and healing vibes to the poorly ones.
Take care all
