Oh fiddle faddle. If I'd known you were in South Ferriby, Mrs SD I'd have dropped by to say hellooooo. It's not that far from chez moi.

Congratulations on your wedding anniversary. What a thoughtful gift. Xxxx
We looked at a house in Ferriby just before lockdown. We were all about to start a business in the area and lockdown finished the idea off. I had to do a lot of research for the business plan and spent a lot of time in North Lincolnshire so I feel like I know the area now.
Just popping in with todays outs before I forget. Shelves up,twice because I told Mr V too high initially. Curtain rail up. I spent this afternoon putting a false hem on a velvet curtain where Dd1’s house rabbit had chewed all along the bottom. Washed the curtain. It’s a whole new shade of blue! I suppose it has been in many different student houses with DD1 over the years.Peeled and cored a massive pan of apples and gave about 1/3 of them to my neighbour. Had a rootle in a banana box from the pantry of doom.To go planter
A tin
craft kitBaking tray
Tarte tattain tray
Box assorted cake decorating stuff
2 chocolate moulds
I have a plan. Mr V is going to British touring car final with DSS next weekend. I will be home alone. I will get everything out of the pantry and have a sort out. My tolerance for mess is higher than Mr V’s. I think I am ready to release a lot more stuff. Christmas decorations will be difficult for me, my last area of difficulty. I am after all Mrs Christmas. 🤶🏼

Hi. Mrs SD like @roundtuit I am not far from Ferriby and have eaten at the Hope and Anchor. Sympathies with Friday's weather as I too was crossing over the moors and it was very wet. Had lovely day wandering York yesterday and spent longer than I usually get in the Minster and visiting some other churches. Looked in windows but only went in one shop (Betty's) to get my DD some loose decaff tea. Weather was lovely but my feet ached when I got back to coach. Nice not to have to drive and also you can do different things without children or other guests. DS2 has decided to sell some of his stuff from loft which is good news. I moved tall cupboard which was in hall and had no purpose into DS2's room and he has filled it with his shoes. It is solid oak and was very expensive but it wasn't being used for anything. I need to clear the hallway before men come tomorrow to start on floor.
1144 Trimmed some overhanging trees
1145 Sorted through large pile of 'used' paper from children's stuff - kept some as it was unused and recycled the rest
1146 Planted out some bulbs I was given for birthday into pots of soil I used for veggies
1147 Random weeds to recycling bin
Need to nip out for a bit of shopping so will go to Iceland as it is 10% off day. Better get dressed first.2025 Decluttering Campaign 635/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Saturday dawned bright & clear if somewhat chilly. Fortunately our base layers, t-shirts & socks were dry as well as my bike trousers so the initial getting dressed was fine 🙂 However DH’s bike trousers were still wet & both our footwear were still completely wet (we had tipped out rain water the previous night 😱) Down to breakfast at 9:00 a.m. - full English, toast & marmalade + cappuccinos 😋 Back to room, collected bags, helmets & jackets then checked out. Sadly our jackets were both still very damp & uncomfortable 🥴 Set off about 10:45 a.m. - 2 old landmarks & then Bardney to photograph an old RAF propeller with the added bonus of 4 beautifully ornate metal benches & then onto Crowland for the Croyland Abbey ruins - absolutely stunning. Very odd sight - a field of cabbages with a double row of sheep down the whole of one side & a single row of sheep down another. One unhappy farmer I imagine 😖 Twenty miles from home & the road was really busy. It got even busier just 7 miles from home when eta was 4:19 p.m. At 6 miles eta 4:26 p.m., at 4 miles eta 4:28 p.m. then lost another 3 minutes & arrived home 4:31 p.m. Got indoors & put the kettle on before both stripping off, drying off & getting changed into dry clothes & sitting down with a cuppa. I emptied the bags & put away what could be put away but did nothing else. Dinner was takeaway fish’n’chips.
Although Friday was very wet we still enjoyed our trip & were reminded again how lovely both Yorkshire & Lincolnshire are - even in the rain 😉
Sunday was mainly dry - probably a great day for the London Marathon runners 🙂 The only thing I did was sort out the washing into loads for the machine. Dinner was shop bought lasagne & garlic bread. Wudupa.
Monday is another dry bright day but clouding over. Two loads of washing done & hung out on whirligig, half of one load already dried. The third load has just finished. We had a lovely surprise today - a delivery of flowers & a card from DH’s sister & family. Beautiful flowers now in a vase on the dining room table. DH has been busy - fed the worms, filled the bird feeders & planted out the rather healthy rooted potato shoots (from eyes) - fingers crossed that they survive & we get potatoes in a few months 🤞 Apart from 2 pairs of jeans which have been left out overnight, the rest of the 3 loads of washing dried on the whirligig 🙂 Dinner was breadcrumbed chicken fillets (too peppery so will not be purchased again), oven chips & peas. Wudupa.
Tuesday is a dull overcast day - threatening rain 🙁 The jeans did dry overnight (mostly) but are currently hung over the banisters just to finish off. One last load of washing done - the bedding, but have decided to use td rather than have to nip in & out if it does rain 😔 Wrote a shopping list for DH who has just set off to sm.
1631 - 1633 Kitchen recycling, magazine, drinks cans - recycled
1634 - 1635 Kitchen detritus, manky nail brush - binned
Now to catch up on the cheerleading 😉
Thanks florianatwobob 🙂
Sorry to hear that you have been so unwell bit_by_bit 🤧 What a lovely cheerleading post 👏 Definitely with you on the list making 🙂 Also thank you for reminding us all to take pride in our wins however small rather than berating ourselves for not being superhuman 😁 Excellent work on the in & out decluttering & very generous re the bras 👏
Congratulations on your first proper week of semi retirement EnergyShifter 👏 Well done on your successful shopping trip 👏 Fingers crossed that your persistence in getting an earlier eye assessment will pay off in getting an early operation date 🤞Excellent decluttering of financial & health tasks 👏Good luck with the hunt for a new dress 🍀
Pleased to hear that so much has already been done on OH’s house, Liverpool_Anne. Hopefully the weather will improve enough so that you can get out into the garden 🤞Technically one day of three was wet so overall a good trip 🙂
Excellent decluttering grandmanerd 👏 Pleased to hear that you are still being careful with your health 🙂 that way you will recover fully 😊 Fingers crossed that the house sale will go through quickly & with no further hiccups 🤞That was a very productive afternoon & I love the idea of a 3 month plan - I wish you every success 🙂
I was exhausted reading about how much you did on Friday, bit_by_bit 😪 Well done on getting so much done 👏
Hope you enjoyed the football, Liverpool_Anne 🙂
Excellent decluttering nannywindow 👏 You had the most important job of all - without a go-fer no one else gets anything done 😉 Great work doing your washing & getting it dry, folded & put away 👏 The new Iceland carrier bags sound like a ploy to shut down their online sales 🤔 DSis is definitely better, although I think DH & I have both caught a cold after our day of riding in the rain 😔
Excellent work on crossing off tasks from your To Do list, QueenJess 👏 Great idea for the duck food - giving paper wrapping a 2nd life before recycling is very green of you 🙂 If we can all do something like this, it will all add up to a better world 😊
Excellent decluttering EnergyShifter especially sorting out your paperwork 👏
GrannyKate, sounds like you had a lovely time 😊 We saw a line of about 40 people searching on the Yorkshire Moors when we travelled through 🙁 Hope you enjoyed your trip to York 🙂
roundtuit, nothing wrong with reminding yourself that you have kept the space under the table clear of clutter 👏
GrannyKate & roundtuit - how lovely that you live in the same general area 😊
Good decluttering roundtuit 👏 What a lovely find but as you say, you need to be in the correct frame of mind to decide what to do 🙂
nannywindow, it sounds like DH is getting on board with decluttering 🥳 I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️ for subtly encouraging him to the extent that he volunteered 👏 I am also awarding DH a medal 🏅- a black bag of rubbish & a large carrier bag of paper for shredding is great decluttering 👏
Welcome Mayaboo 👋 Sorry to hear that you are suffering from overwhelm & anxiety 😦 One suggestion I can offer is to identify the area of clutter that is causing you the most anxiety & just make a start 🙂
florianatwobob, I think you should ‘fine’ DBro each time he doesn’t shut the freezer door properly 😉 I had the Mission Impossible music playing in my head when I read about your reading mission 😂
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 especially dealing with the tax paperwork. Sorry to hear that your Covid booster knocked you for 3 🙁
Excellent decluttering at your dad’s TC77 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for preventing more clutter coming into your home - it is almost the same as decluttering your home. If you can look at decluttering your dad’s home as ‘honing your decision making skills for decluttering your own home’ it should make it easier when you have finished dealing with your dad’s house 😉 Good luck with your TBR pile 🍀
Well done on organising your paperwork EnergyShifter 👏 Hopefully there is no missing box & you were super efficient last time 😉🤞
Well done on decluttering your washing & drying Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hope you enjoy the Brian Cox lecture 🙂 Lovely supportive post 😊
Hope you can get some rest today Fiz2015 & that DD manages to sleep as well 🤞Sending lots of positive vibes that the next car boot sale is more successful 🍀
roundtuit, what a lovely welcome to Mayaboo 🤗
vulpix, another lovely welcome to Mayaboo 🤗 Surprising just how much you can get done when you are busy 👏 but quite agree that being busy should not be a full time pursuit 😉 It must have been lovely to see DD 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏
Siebrie, great question 👏 I think seeing a pile of books like that would definitely put me off 😉 rather like seeing an overloaded plate of food 😔 Loving the friendly welcome to Mayaboo 🤗 Everything crossed that the quote for the downstairs renovation is acceptable 🤞I remember that you mentioned having trouble getting anyone to quote 😔
roundtuit, lovely part of the country to live. I need to pay more attention to DH’s Route planning & hotel selection - could mean that I actually get to meet a few more of my fellow declutterers 🙂
basketcase, just a third of the trip was soggy 😉
Thanks vulpix, I have been very lucky - my DH is a lovely man & so thoughtful 😊 Love that you could have ended up in Ferriby & been a neighbour of roundtuit & GrannyKate 😃 Shame that Covid put paid to your plans but it sounds like the time you spent in North Lincolnshire was very enjoyable 😊Excellent decluttering & DIY by both you & MrV 👏 Good luck with the pantry decluttering next weekend 🍀 Don’t forget to have a bit of ‘you’ time - the TLC carriage is open 24/7 🙂
GrannyKate, such a small world 🙂 No surprise that you haven dined in The Hope & Anchor - the restaurant was packed when we were there including a group of 14 celebrating a successful Ofsted inspection - I only know that because I saw the cake 😊 Friday was definitely a rotter - just wondering now if you spotted us on the motorbike 😉 we would have been looking rather bedraggled & sorry for ourselves 😂 So pleased that the weather was kind for your visit to York - sounds like you had a wonderful if tiring day 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 Good luck to DS2 in his selling endeavours - decluttering & earning a bit of cash 🍀
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏
Yippee, all caught up + the first load of tumble drying has finished & the 2nd load is in. Feel justified at the expense as it is raining 😔

Quick check in to respond to @Liverpool_Anne - it was Knowsley Hall that we visited - they do events and weddings etc but ordinary tours are only one week a year in September.
I've cleared the hall completely ready for the floor to come up tomorrow and done lots of bin emptying but not much else. Will give myself one point. Put a couple of lines across the garage to add to drying space as trying not to use tumble dryer too much.

What a lovely gift @Mrs_Salad_Dodger.Thankyou for your kind words.
I have been in a bit of a ditch with my mood of late. Things have been hectic and I have overdone it or I am wiped out binge watching Korean dramas on Netflx.
Anyway, better day today. Going to bed early tonight and getting back on the horse.
I finally got the bag dropped off at the CS yesterday so now its100/100. I am now aiming for 150 bags
Take care all. Keep well and warm.
