Hello all I'm back from my hols and I'm afraid I've missed umpteen pages of posts (no wi fi), but I hope everyone is well and still happily decluttering. I shall send hugs to anyone unwell, in the TLC carriage or struggling with daily life.
Today we had a very stressful journey home as we had a flat tyre on the caravan on the M5, luckily we managed to pull off at a near junction to wait for help. DH would normally change the wheel himself but since his cancer treatment he's unable to even lift the wheel. An hour later we were back on the road but then found the car radiator has sprung a small leak and the van battery wouldn't power the motor mover to put the van away. What a day! Thankfully it wasn't on the way there, but now I can foresee a large amount of money being decluttered from our bank 😢.
This afternoon I have deleted 6 books (read on hols) from my kindle and 23 read emails, I have also done 2 loads of washing. Most of the holiday stuff has been sorted and put away although some of it is yet to be collected from the van but nothing that can't wait for a bit.
Take care all, happy decluttering.

Popping by. Reading along. Busy in RL. GrS 3 has been poorly so I have been supporting DiL with looking after him and her a bit too. She is also under the weather.
Today DH and I have also been to MiL to clear her patio of plant pots and piles of stuff. She can get to her potting bench now. We are slowly working towards getting planters nearer the house for veg growing and to avoid her walking in the uneven areas of her garden.
In our own garden we are dismantling what was meant to be a pond but became a veg bed and replacing with a shady summerhouse for me as I can;'t cope with direct sun so rarely sit outside when it is warm. We took 4 bags of compost to Sisters partner who has a flower bed but it had very little proper soil. It is high grade compost and looks great around his plants.
Also 3 bags of leafmold have gone to the allotment.
Managed to get some stuff online yesterday but interrupted by DS2 who thought he had broked his finger and lost his bank card whilst drunk in town. When he rang the bank he found someone had spent all his money (not a huge amount thankfully) plus he spent the evening in A&E where they diagnosed a dislocation (I thought it was) and had it reset.
So busy and distracted but not bored.
Got more childcare tomorrow as GrS 3 can't go to nursery and then my regular day Tuesday. If he is well enough he can come to the allotment with me and watch me dig!Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Well last Friday I decided to devote 3 30 minute slots to the loft. I knew the bit I wanted to tackle. DH had started to sort papers at one end of the loft. This area had become a source of stress as things had fallen on the floor and were all over the place and you literally had to step on bits to get through. I haven't sorted things by any means but it is a lot better. Took a large empty box and when I found cards from the children or myself they have all gone in the new box (previously all over the place. And a second box for photos etc( also all over the place) Photos since we have had the children are getting sorted into groups and in the photo box from Amazon that I had bought him. I suspect many of these stray photos are the spares from the olden days when it was cheaper to get two printed at a time. I can check this at a later date.
Saturday I took some large bags of shredded paper and other bits to the dump. Did only a tiny bit yesterday as DD came to visit.
Today it is raining and I already have another box down from the loft to sort.
Enjoyed catching up on everyone's posts.
Happy Monday everyone 😁Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D11 -
Had a bonus couple of days - supposed to be on holiday however OH became unwell just before we were due to leave. He has made a full recovery so we are going tomorrow.
Made use of the time to catch up with laundry, admin and tidying of some random things that had made their way into my bedroom. All looks so much better. Also made a start on boxes in the shed (that originally came from the little bedroom) and got rid of anything obvious. Boxes have been put into bin bags just to keep the damp off until I can get stuck into sorting them when we get home in 10 days.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅10 -
Hi all, I am much better today having spent most of yesterday either in bed or on the couch. I didn't even get dressed I was so rough, though my arm is still sore. Yesterday OH met the decorator and the outside of OHs house is finished. OH did not do anything in the garden but has cleared the hall of pictures and plates from the wall and other stuff with a view to getting that decorated next. By the time that was done OH was exhausted as I expected. The weather today is looking a bit grey and blustery but as I am feeling the need to get some fresh air I am going to try to get into the garden for a while as long as the rain holds off, and get a bit more into the green waste bin
Take care everyone7 -

Hi.Nice to hear everyone’s news. You are all so busy.I painted the two bigger sheds and brought the sentry box into the kitchen as it started to rain. It’s still there, unpainted and in the way! I also gave the bookcase another under coat of paint.Mr V seems to be fighting a bug, very shivery so I have sent him back to bed and I am creeping around down stairs. We had big plans for a good clean in the sitting room today , pulling all the furniture out to clean behind. Oh well, tomorrow is another day. I will give the bookcase a coat of black paint. It would be great if it doesn’t need a second coat.I am pleased to be using up oddments of paint. I have no idea where the black paint came from. It has moved house with us several times. No work has happened on the road, so no dust. I could use up more paint by painting the front door the same duck egg as the back. Mind it is a bit cold to have the door open all day.We have so far resisted having the heating on. Mr V has made a plant pot tea light heater. It is very effective in a small room like ours.Well this won’t knit the baby a new bonnet. I will crack on.Vx:10

Hi all, well I managed a big bag of garden waste before the rain set in so pleased about that and I have had a lovely chat with my nephew who is off to Europe working on 1st October. He is still homeless and staying with friends but is totally ok with this. His plan is to go travelling for a couple of months somewhere warm after he gets back from working and then think about where he wants to live, possibly somewhere abroad. If he was any more laid back he would be horizontal
This evening I have been out for tea with friends as it is my birthday soon. Feeling nice and full nowbut still feeling tired so will try for an early night.
Take care everyone10 -
Morning Peeps,
@Liverpool_Anne glad to see you are feeling a bit more hooman.
Yesterday DH had his 2 petrol hedge trimmers out and make light work of restyling (or topiarised as he claims, not so sure about that) the Jasmin creeper. It is now a tenth of its original size all chopped with said buzzers into manageable sizes and bagged ready for a trip to the tip with a quantity of bags. This is part of the start of making space (moving and prepping) for the start next year of the kitchen extension. He is adamant about keeping a tidy site too.
I polished off the ironing early doors, I am now only ironing the front side of simple items. I managed to reduce 3 items to rags for his workshop/shed. I seem to struggle with letting my t shirts become rags for the cause I have plenty don't get me wrong it's just making that god damn decision!
I feel this year I have only decluttered my time, yet when sat here in the west room (sunny back bedroom, with "stuff" in it) and look around I can see gaps, so progress is actually being made.
I do try to plan my journeys out and about to keep costs down - I feel I am becoming decidedly extremely frugal. Or shall I say more aware - yes I will have some of that.
Have a good week all.
2 Scratters xx
