one of our local charities too recently.
Interesting - I'll look into it. Thanks, floriana

Received an invite to a christening next month 🙂 As it is for the 3 of us & miles away, we will have to get there by train, taxi to the church + taxi to the lunch venue. Further investigation required 🙂 Dinner was steaks (cooked perfectly by DH) with oven chips, roasted tomatoes, fried onions, dry fried mushrooms, & peas. Delicious 🤤 Wudupa. DH went to bed at 10:00 p.m. & got up 3:45 a.m. to watch the MotoGP races being held in Japan.

Excellent decluttering daisy_1571 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for reaching 500 🙂 Very pleased to hear that you are starting to notice spaces 👏
QueenJess, please book your opticians appointment 🙏 & please try to get some rest & give yourself some TLC 🙏 There is plenty of room in the TLC Carriage. Well done on completing your humongous work frog & great decluttering 👏
Thanks for the useful information Floss 👏
TC77, like you I struggle with official paperwork - never quite know what to keep 😔 The stall at the Vintage Market sounds like less hassle than online selling 😉 Hope you had a lovely evening with your friends 🙂
It really does sound a faff, basketcase 😔
Thanks for that florianatwobob 👏 Now you mention it, I used to get a letter re donated goods sold from Spitalfields Crypt Trust + I was asked if I gift aided (so left name & address) when I dropped off a bag of clothes & hand knitted items at British Red Cross.

basketcase said:Floss said:@basketcase As long as you pay tax, if you sign up for gift aid with the charity shop you donate to, they can claim the tax back & it can be used in a tax return (if you do them). You can sign up to more than one charity too.
...
I'd not heard of this before, and it sounds like an awful faff.

Hi re Gift Aid you don't really have to do anything at all as they do it. I give my name and postcode in whenever I drop stuff off where I have registered for Gift Aid - the legalities require them to send you a letter once a year saying what they've sold and giving you the opportunity to claim money back. I guess no-one ever does. I had a letter from Oxfam yesterday saying they had sold some items for £10.65 but were able to claim another £2.66 because I had gift aided things. The only advantage to me was that when I was paying higher rate tax (doing consulting work) my accountant claimed the higher rate tax back for charitable donations (from HMRC not the charity). I just file the letters or keep emails.
DS2 got active and has been doing some sorting. No sign of contractors starting work on leak damage. They have asked me to pay the excess though.

@GrannyKate I've always paid any excess after work has been completed, maybe suggest that you wait to pay when the work is ongoing rather than in advance?2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

Hi all, well this jab has left me feeling pretty rough. It came on me about 3 hours after the jab and is still with me this morning. Dosed up with paracetamol and hot drinks and just lounging around listening to radio 4.
Take care everyone10 -
I am going through our wardrobes again today as my husband wore a jumper he hadn't worn before the other day and it had odd puffy sleeves so that will be donated along with whatever I can find.
I had to declutter my brown ankle boots this week as I wore them for the first time in ages in the rain and realised the sole on one is completely destroyed. There weren't expensive enough that I would consider repairing them.
I also decluttered almost £200 to the fence guy yesterday, Not my favourite form of decluttering!

Hey hey!
I suffered two nights of insomnia so have been fit for nowt. Went to bed at 9 last night and Mr V woke me at 10:30 today. I feel vaguely human now.All my plans were abandoned as I just cannot work through tiredness like some people can. Plan for today is to finish painting the first coat on 3 sheds. Another undercoat on the bookcase and give a rose plant some TLC. My neighbour’s mil died the other day and the potted rose was the last thing they bought her. My neighbour is renowned for giving plants a very hard, short life.Feel better soon Liverpool Anne.Thank you for the reminder about gift aid at charity shops. As we no longer pay tax we shall have to stop gift aiding. Or maybe give donations to someone else to take in.I had better get on. Sitting here with coffee and amaretti isn’t very productive.Oh by the way Mrs SD, I noticed in Lidl they were selling what looks very much like Bakewell pudding in their bakery department. They had an Italian name and I couldn’t read exactly what they were as I didn’t have my glasses. 🤣
Another one here who’s optician appointment is long over due.Have a nice day people. Vx:12 -
More shuffling and sorting today.DSis repainted the front doorstep after the replastering work took its toll on the paintwork. We’ve nearly finished the pot of doorstep paint though. DSis also finished the pot of hammerite on the letterbox. The door is looking quite smart for WinterI’ve scrubbed the doormats again (the plaster is stubborn) and finally got the door number back on the door - it’s only been off and in the drawer for oooooohhhh 8 or 9 years!
I’m off this coming week and am planning on tackling some personal admin that has been left to drift whilst the house has been the main focus this year. Might even tackle a frog or two.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)
