Hi all, I have things come in
. I am planning to knit hot water bottle covers as stocking fillers for a couple of family members for Christmas and as my current knitting project is nearly finished it was time to think about yarn then I remembered it is 2nd hand September so I took a trip to the cs and came away with a bag of yarn in browns and greens with 1 ball of grey and 1 ball of pink. They are different plys ranging from 4 ply to chunky but the colours go together quite nicely. I am beyond pleased as I have never found yarn in this shop before and it will give me a challenge to combine them all. Various test knits will have to be done and measured and probably multi strands combined to get it right but I am quite excited to try using it all up. Hopefully I can also use up a few bits of yarn, half balls, I already have.
Apart from that I have been continuing with the garden declutter as the green bin was emptied on Tuesday and I have been busy refilling itI have a pile of stuff to take to the tip, broken plant pots etc.
Tonight we are taking LN for a meal at our fav greek restaurant for her birthday, really looking forward to that.
Tomorrow I need to be up and out early as I am meeting a decorator at OHs house and he will either paint the front or 4 ceilings depending on what the weather is like. We have the paint for both
I am very pleased about this as it means OH has finally accepted that we cannot do everything in the 2 houses that need sorting ourselves. OH is not fit enough and I have more than enough to do with this house. The plan is to rent out OHs house but it does need sorting first. OHs Mum lived there until she died but that was a few years ago but I haven't had the heart to push this along. OH was born in the house and it has been a wrench to sort anything out. While I am there if the weather is kind I will tackle the garden. This is a major job as it is 3 times the size of mine and has 2 greenhouses and a shed ! I have suggested we get a gardener to help but so far that has fallen on deaf ears
@bit_by_bit Brian Cox is amazing, his show here has been rearranged and I am hoping to go to the show as some tickets have been returned
@vulpix, I totally relate to that meme
Take care everyone

@Liverpool_Anne I totally understand about the 2 houses bit I have 3(MIL had 2 when she died) I hate it.
Don't mind admitting I had a good cry this morning fed up with mess and RL. The day started well with a relatively good sleep and a quick run. Both dogs well for them. Paid some bills for one of the Dorset houses ...printer won't work. It tells me I have the wrong size paper....I don't. A4 same as normal. Decide to sort insurance for same house. It had come with hubbys name on as well as mine as it was a joint policy. Company cannot just remove his name I have to start all over again🤦🏼♀️ Only insurance company that have said this. 45 minutes later I have sorted it.
I decide to mow the lawn(what is left of it) as we might have rain tomorrow...the first in weeks again. Then my sister texts to say The surveyors say I have not filled in their form for the house I am selling to her. (I didn't even realise there was one) So I down tools and fill it in. Mostly the same questions as I filled in for the solicitor. I go into the loft of doom to search for papers, after half an hour of looking through absolute tut......I sit down and have a good cry. Then I notice a box that I have sorted which says old house stuff and there I find the info I need.
Now just to add to todays frustration the surveyors cannot open the form🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️🤦🏼♀️ Sent it three time now
I did bring down more shredding. If it does rain properly I might spend a couple of hours in the loft tomorrow just putting some of the stuff in piles.....eg photos, tickets etc etc. Can't keep going up there and getting this distressed.
Sorry folks rant overEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D11 -
Hello All,
Well yesterday I ended up feeling sorry for myself so had chocolate and wine, think I need to sneak off to the TLC carriage.
Had to have an emergency optician appointment and diagnosed with Epiretinal Membrane macular pucker. On 3 monthly eye tests and referred to hospital. Eyes are still a bit sore from the eye drops. I did Google it and find reliable sources of information and not as bad as it sounds. It was one way to get the afternoon off work!
Will attempt to declutter the ironing in a bit. Find doing little and often is more manageable. Same with decluttering really.
Only decluttering today will be putting the recycling out.

@teachergirl, sometimes a cry is what is needed
@ vulpix love the idea of the meme.
Working so no action here but have found large no of large plastic boxes, abit bigger than cereal boxes but long rather than tall mostly but not sure what to put in them. Decorator back next week so trying to put things away to minimise disruption and dust!7 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV during daylight hours 😉 AB2 playing zero - 20/9/2022
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Wednesday stayed dry. Dinner was cold pork, oven chips, fried eggs & baked beans. Wudupa.
Thursday is another bright start - cloudy but sunny. Both wheelie bins have been emptied.
1574 - 1579 Kitchen recycling, drinks cans, plastic jar, paper packaging, cardboard box, plastic bottle - recycled
1580 Kitchen detritus - binned
Good work in the garden bit_by_bit - I do love sweet Williams - so colourful. The talk sounds really interesting & Brian Cox is a really good speaker.
teachergirl, sorry to hear you had a sleepless night but I agree with you - I had a quick Google & it appears that dogs & badgers have similar hearing ranges 😔 Nothing wrong with decluttering by accident 👏
Excellent decluttering short_bird 👏 Hope you find good locations for your bins 😉
Excellent decluttering 2Scratters 👏 Well done sticking to your ‘loft rule’ - it makes such a difference when a new habit becomes ingrained 🙂 Good luck with the photographing 🍀
TC77, you can lead a horse to water but you cannot make it drink 😔 However I would restrict DD2 to her room 😉 unless she picks up after herself 🤣 Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent decluttering Siebrie 👏
Very apt vulpix 😉 I have also been procrastinating re vacuuming 😉
Lovely post Liverpool_Anne ☺️ You are a far more organised & dedicated knitter than I am 😉 I have never done ‘test knits’ 😔 even when knitting jumpers etc. I just start & finish any project & over the years I have been lucky 🍀 Now I just knit scarves, beanies & wrist warmers so sizing isn’t really a big factor 😂 Excellent garden decluttering 👏 Hopefully the weather will stay fine for the decorator so the outside work can be done first 🤞Fingers crossed that OH will be ‘persuaded’ to hire a gardener 🤞
Back later to finish cheerleading as need to write a shopping list for DH 😉

To avoid housework I spent ages pegging out the washing ,socks in pairs, everything neat. Went in, made a coffee, took it outside to sit before doing some shed painting. It started to rain hard. Oh dear I will have to watch tv and knit!
Sorted my gift and wrapping drawer today. Used up 21st birthday paper from 10 years ago! DD2’s Birthday on Sunday. More paper used to wrap a bubble machine to gift to my Grand Nieces for when their new sibling is born. Gifts and wrapping have made lots of room in the drawer. I think wrapping paper is another area in which I am SABLE.Hugs, coffee and homemade cake for people in the TLC carriage. Me n Mr V included. (Mil)
I have bought a small oak bookcase for £5. It is presently red. Too much trouble to strip it. I will watch tv and paint it black and then knit. It will make me feel like I haven’t wasted the day.Vx:12 -
