Not much decluttering but destressing on a mini-break in Devon before school starts for DD at end of the week. Off to the Donkey Sanctuary tomorrow and hopefully we avoid the downpours.
Staying on a farm and it's so peaceful apart from the geese in the field behind us!
Will refocus declutter efforts when we get back as have a few days off work and time to actually sort stuff and do charity/tip runs.

So far the weathermen were right about the heat staying around 40C today. I did get two loads of laundry done though. And have been typing away at my book. And it was interesting to see that the article on my news station talking about what your new prime minister has to contend with only quoted one person - Martin Lewis. Impressive. He is getting the word out there.8

Hi all, hugs to all having a hard time atm.
It has taken me ages to catch up with all the posts. I finally finished the union thing on Friday. I had taken ages trying to get it right and I got computer overload so didn't log on here.
I have decluttered some stuff from the freezer into meals which have been mostly eaten though 2 portions of veg pasta sauce have gone back into the freezer.
Today I have filled 2 wheely bins with garden waste, mine and my LN. They are emptied tomorrow and if it's not raining I will start to refill it as most things are now at the end of flowering apart from my climbing rose that is starting to flower again
I have kept on top of the washing and so far got it all line dried
Today OH came home with 2 hand towels, they were in the sale. I questioned this as we do have a few hand towels, apparently the 1 in current use in the bathroom is a show as it has a small hole in the cornerI will turn it into a floor cloth after it has been washed
I was very tired after my gardening and decided on an early night only to be kept wide awake by a spectacular thunder storm and now, of course I am wide awake
Take care everyone8 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bed
Thursday’s dinner - finished off the risotto cakes, with a bit of chicken & rocket.
Friday’s dinner - hm cottage pie with cauliflower
Saturday’s dinner - finished the cottage pie with spinach for DSis & peas for DH & me.
Sunday - full roast beef dinner (roast potatoes, frozen Yorkshire puddings, cabbage, cauliflower & hm gravy) 🤤
Monday - cold roast beef with mash & fried lo roast potatoes, cabbage & cauliflower.
Friday DH went out re Round Britain Rally - Derbyshire - did get soaked 😬 but also popped into Bakewell - our annual treat 🙂 No rain in London until after DH got home 😉
Saturday & Sunday DH watched MotoGP racing + Sunday went out for a small shop - needed potatoes & Yorkshire puddings 😉 Both days beautiful warm & sunny days.
I have been exceedingly lazy but have nearly cleared down the TV planner - just one full series to watch. Have been doing the wudupa each day + dealing with daily rubbish & recycling.
Monday - yet another lazy day. Overcast all day & then about 11:00 p.m. thunder & lightning & heavy rain for a while but now clear skies.
1420 - 1440 Kitchen recycling x 5, office recycling, 3 cardboard boxes, 4 plastic bottles, drinks cans x 5, uu air freshener can, cardboard packaging x 2 - recycled
1441 - 1448 Kitchen detritus x 5, plastic packaging, damaged bubble wrap, office detritus - binned
1449 Bubblewrap in CS bag
Good work QueenJess- a steady outflow 👏 Nice result re the gift cards 🙂
TC77, I suppose you could say that DD2 has helped you decide on a decluttering project 🙃 Great result with decluttering at your dad’s house & what a lovely use of spare shoe & boot laces 👏
vulpix, a shoe & boot laces epiphany 👏🙂 What a confession 😂 I have to say that I always tried to do a good job as I never wanted to be a disappointment to my mum 😔 - she never got angry just looked so sad 😞 your mum is a card - I thought maybe the NHS had resorted to alternate sources of drugs 🤣 Excellent work in the garden & yippee to releasing fabric scraps 👏 What a grand job 🙂
teachergirl great work 👏 Hope you have a lovely time in Scotland 🙂 I remember that particular ‘executive toy’ - it was all the rage for a while 🤣
Excellent decluttering vulpix 👏
Good work QueenJess 👏
Great work short_bird 👏
weenancy, your perseverance in hunting down the missing library books is being rewarded 🙂 now just the one to find 🥳 The weather sounds absolutely debilitating - please take care - keep hydrated & try to get some of your roommates to help with the furniture moving 🙏 Sorry to hear that it was such a mixed bag of medical test results 😞 Congratulations on the award 👏 although from my pov you should be Citizen of the Year 🙂
Excellent decluttering teachergirl 👏
Deni_debt-free_dreamer, so very sorry to hear that RL is so stressful 😔😞 Sending many good vibes & get well wishes to you & your family. Very impressed with how much you have done even with all the difficulties 👏 Excellent work in your continuing reduction of emails 👏
What a cheek & what a pain in the backside oceanspirit 😡 No wonder estate agents have such a bad reputation 😞 Hope the third EA restores your faith 🤞 If not, good luck with the decluttering & tidying & finding a good builder 🍀
Nice to hear that a couple of your roommates are helping you weenancy 🙂 Let’s hope they keep it up 🤞 I really don’t know how anyone can work in such high temperatures - 32C is just about doable but any higher is hellish 😬 Did the roommate with tiny dog actually get married or is he MIA? Hope tiny dog is not pining too much 🤞
Excellent work florianatwobob 👏 Decorator turning up at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday 😓 - I would have had to stay up all night to make sure I was able to let him in 😂
Daisy_1571, I was curious too 🙂
Yippee EnergyShifter 🥳 All’s well that ends well 👏🙂 Hope you have a glorious time in Spain - plenty of sangria & lots of rest & relaxation 🙂
weenancy, am I remembering correctly that husky was kicked out of training class? Such a shame that even huskyrescue are unable to help at the moment 😞 Huskies are not really built for high temperatures, so am a bit surprised that she doesn’t spend all day in the pool 😉
Lovely post bit_by_bit 😊 Excellent decluttering 👏 Enjoy your well deserved time in the TLC carriage 🙂
vulpix, your friend sounds interesting - sled racing with huskies 😉 Excellent decluttering in preparation for the builders 👏
weenancy I am melting just reading about those temperatures 🥵 I really hope they cancelled the baseball game 🤞 Am I correct in thinking that even if you hit a home run you still have to run round the diamond? Cricket seems far more sensible - if you hit a 6 you don’t have to run at all 🙂
What a great dream aka target QueenJess 👏 Drawers & cupboards not jam packed - easy to find things with no risk of damage to items or injuries to yourself - Brilliant 🤩
nannywindow, you have still done more actual decluttering than I have 👏 Lovely supportive posts 😊
Good work TC77 👏 I do love a pretty sewing box 😉 Boo to scammers 😒 Nothing wrong with a guesstimate 😉
Sending get well wishes to you & MiL, bit_by_bit.
Such sad news florianatwobob 😢 but comforting that DBro2 got to see his friend before he died.
🥵 weenancy - that is hotter than it was in Death Valley whilst we were there 🥵 Good idea to write rather than anything more strenuous - 20 years is a mere drop in the ocean 😉 I still haven’t finished knitting DH’s jumper which I started over 30 years ago 😂
GrannyKate, you did a decent amount of decluttering 👏 especially as you think you had a lazyish weekend 🤔
Excellent work tackling frogs, Siebrie 👏 The birthday party sounds fun 🤩 Sorry to hear that DH has malaria 😔 but just wondering why he didn’t change his flight to Friday? bearing in mind how busy you are on a Sunday 🤔
vulpix, I agree with QueenJess - clutter multiplies when your back is turned 😉 Well done to MrV in his mission to declutter more stuff whilst setting up his studio 👏 one medal 🏅 for him but one Gold Star ⭐️ coming your way for going through the whole house - very impressive 👏 Hope builder’s baby gets well soon 🤞
Siebrie, what a strange thing to do 🤔 So pleased to hear that DD1 wasn’t selected 😉
What a great result vulpix 🥳 electricals used by someone else & far less to landfill 👏 What a lovely neighbour & I bet she was pleased with her new towels 🙂
Very impressed QueenJess 👏 - you are putting me to shame 😔 I promise I will try harder.
Steady progress Rootle 👏
Fizz2015, enjoy your de-stressing & hope the the rain stays away until Donkey Sanctuary visit is finished 🤞
Hopefully the temperatures will start falling soon, weenancy 🤞although it sounds like you are doing well with your writing 👏 Not too sure about our new PM - forget tax cuts (usually only benefit rich people 😠) she should definitely be doing something to help people with the energy crisis. Nice to know Martin Lewis is getting the message out - let’s hope she listens 🤞
Excellent gardening work & using up of food Liverpool_Anne 👏 I have to say I love a good thunder & lightning storm - no matter how tired I am I stay awake to watch. I am fascinated 🙂

Temperature to be over 38C tomorrow too. Not expected to go down much until Friday. They still payed the ballgame even though temperature on the field was 71C at the start of the game (air was 47C at the start)! Husky and I both spent part of the day in the pool today. Her ball floats so she would drop it in for me to retrieve and toss for her to go after, then come and jump in the pool with it - but only on the second stair level. Our stair goes eight feet down one side and then goes another eight feet down another so she has a lot of space to bounce. Roommate canceled the marriage when he found out he wasn't the only one (of course not - he met her online through a questionable service - phone company listed the number as spam even). So he is still going to be here for awhile. Female roommate and Disneyland employee 1 went to Disneyland today in the heat. He came home about 2, but she plans to stay until11:30 making it a 14 hour day there. But she can't do anything else if it takes over 30 minutes! Martin Lewis is getting a lot of coverage on our news reports on-line. He is the only person they have quoted about your election! Even in USA Today newspaper.8

Mrs S_D - it is good thing you made your trip earlier this year. Death Valley will be 51C tomorrow, San Francisco area has been in the 40sC! Temperature records are breaking everywhere in California even the beach hit 32C this weekend - hasn't happened in recorded history before.8

Big hugs for for your DB @florianatwobob
Thankyou @TC77. I am still not right but not too bad either. Just got to take a bit of care.
MiL OK. They sent her home at 3.30 am and she couldn't get in. FiL had left keys in the door. She walked round to ours and got picked up by a police patrol on the way. Anyway. She hasn't got a diagnosis but they are suggestin TIA and 'will be in touch'. I did their shopping with ours and sorted key hook for beside all the doors and got some spares cut too.
Dropped off another bag of pots to someone at the allotments yesterday and found someone who will take ther rest.
Traded for jam and chutney too.
First full day with GS3. Gonna be fun as we are going to a musical session at the library. I hjave to return him midday for a breast feed and inspection by his mum then on until 4.30.

Thank you for our awards Mrs SD. 🏆
The husky mad friend is never seen without a layer of dog hair 🤣. The racing is over ground in the absence of snow in a special sled. The dogs live for it. So does she!Bit by bit. Mil what can I say. Your family are very lucky to have you. Made me chuckle that you have to take the baby for lunch and an inspection.I hope all you holidaying folks are dodging the rain. We have finally had some decent rain. Nothing but drizzle for months. We never woke up during the storms. ⚡️💦💤I have corralled all the shoe laces and put them in a zip lock bag. I imagine they will sit on the kitchen table for a few months till I find a home for them.A man is coming to collect the big box of audio cables today.
Day 2 of Mr V’s retirement and he is going to Henry the loft. Rubble up there from when we had a new roof. He will have run out of things to do by the end of the week!
I intend to go to craft club today. I haven’t been for a long time. I am on the home straight with the log cabin quilt. I really want to use up my stash. The plan is the Sashiko quilt next. Trouble is I distract myself with ideas for other things.Hopefully I can drop off the ridiculous amount of things Mil has bought for fundraising for a new community centre and a local lad with cancer. That will clear a huge amount of space in the giant shed. She must have spent 2k. She could have just given a donation. The builders are here. Taking out the bathroom window. It will be nice to get rid of the scaffolding in the back yard. Fingers crossed this week.Take care every one. Vx

So today no decluttering done. Had a 'discussion' with DiL. So frustrating. The boy himself is a dream.
MiL still ok but tired.
Planning a trip to the allotment with three sacks of pots I don't want.
If its raining I will do the current inside project, sorting photos.
We are considering having the in-laws to live with us over the winter months just because of the fuel prices. Ideally though they would stay in their own home. It will reqire a ramping upof the upstairs decluttering.
Popped into work yesterday and was reminded why I am glad I left.
