2022 DECLUTTERING CAMPAIGN MrsSD

Hard to rehome a totally untrained and lively husky - seems huskyrescue couldn't find anyone willing to try it. Dog and I went in the pool. she just stood on the step and try to pull me back out. But it did cool both of us off when the temperature went to 100 plus (about 38 C). supposed to be even hotter tomorrow. But it is helping getting the floor cleaned - where she spills the water and getting roommates to clean up what is on the floor before the dog gets to them.8

TC77 said:Mrs SD, I have failed totally in getting DD2 to put anything away. Came home to soggy teatowels on the floor - so an attempt to do some washing up, but think I need to have fewer tea towels.
Good news the refugee project will take heaters and other things from my dad's including his collection of extra shoe laces for every type of shoe and boot (they get shoe donations but often don't have good laces) so really pleased, also have sleeping bags and some health/medical stuff to take.
Home for 24 hours so hoping to do abit here.
Take care all, and love hearing about treasure finds, and moments of peace as we declutter.
Fantastic work @vulpixI gave two bags of scraps on freecycle last year. The were from a friend and I realised in the end that I wasn't going to use them.
Congratulations on your well deserved award @ween@weenancyinAmericaI am rubbish in the heat too.
Doing well @deni@Deni_debt-free_dreamereven if ist seems liuke two stpes forward and one back.
I had a good day on Friday:
The side of the house and the garden are now clear.
Dropped off 2 x huge bags of plastics to the SM and a bag of plant pots to the recycling point at the garden centre. I find they also take compost/bark bags and cloths and shoes. They also have a charity bookshelf looking a bit empty. Tme for me to weed my bookshelf again
Had a horrible dizzy day yesterday so had to rest up in the TLC carriage. Beter but not right today so off to rest up again.

Oh dear bit by bit. Take care. X
weenancy. I don’t know how you carry on in those temperatures. Anything over 23’ is too hot for me. Don’t give up on rehoming the husky. Someone will want her. My friend would but she lives here. She has 6 huskies and sled races with them. She has taken on a few waifs and they have trained well with her pack. Fingers crossed that the right person will turn up.So the builders turned up on Friday to drop off supplies to move the bathroom window. Just as I had swept up the Sahara desert from the last building work. It seems my inside work will be sooner rather than later. I have to take the builder when he has a slot. I was looking forward to a bit of peace for a while though. I am sure my lovely neighbours are too. I have to turn my mind to moving the contents of the pantry of doom somewhere.Yesterday we took stuff to the tip. A bag of rubble which I had dug up out of the garden. Some cardboard boxes a broken speaker stand and the bag of textiles. In similar news we have emptied the bathroom in anticipation of tomorrows dust storm. Out 3 hand towels, 3 bath sheets still with tags. Cleaning cloths. Shampoo we don’t use. Conditioner ditto. A new bath plug,A Christmas gift from mil. Yes really. A bath tidy thingy. Other stuff I can’t recall. I also outed 2 nail varnishes, a pair of earrings and a necklace.Onwards and outwards chums.Vx:11 -
Only 8:30 am here and the temperature is already over 32 C. Have fed the animals. My goal for today is to clean off tabletops in living room. That may be my limit. A baseball game is scheduled to be played here in town - when it will be about 41C at the start of the game. Hope they cancel it for the sake of everyone there. Already breaking heat records. The first part of September is usually the hottest time of the year for us. It won't really cool down until the end of October, beginning of November. But it has never been this bad.8

Decluttering has felt a bit overwhelming recently. I know I have more to do, but now it’s the odd thing or two in each drawer and I have to really think hard/challenge myself for each item. It definitely gets harder once you’ve got rid of the obvious stuff.
Anyway, I asked myself what I was actually trying to achieve and my dream is that everything I open is only half full so it isn’t rammed with things and is easy to find things or put things away. Using that as my motivation I redid a stationery drawer in my desk and managed to find loads to get rid of! It’s not perfect (I still have things to use up), but it’s loads better already.4068 - packaging

Hello all, haven't done much decluttering lately, hangs head in shame, but I have binned a jumbo storage bag which disintegrated when I opened it. It held the spare duvet and pillows for the folding bed as DGS stayed on Friday night and DGD will be staying on Monday night (she doesn't start back to school till Wed) Also gone a spatula and slotted spoon that are beyond use. I recycled a word search book that was finished and the cardboard from a new pair of heat holder socks, hopefully being knee length they will keep my legs warm in the cold weather as most of my thick socks are only ankle length.
Decluttered several more recordings from the TV planner, now watching some missed "The Capture" episodes. Blimey who knew that could be going on and it's probably not that far fetched either !
We decluttered the last of the chinese takeaway tonight (waste not want not) and I've finally cleared the ironing basket, my least favourite chore, ready for our next hols. Exotic Devon this time 🤣
Weenancy We had 35C heat when on holiday and that was much too hot. I hope you are able to cope with the heat and I shall send thoughts of cooling breezes and some of our rain ☔! As Vulpix says please don't give up on rehoming the dog. I'm sure there's someone who would love to have it.
Vulpix good luck with the building work and the resulting mess, I was really glad when ours finished. I wish there was a magic spell to zap all the mess away. P00f 💥
Bit by Bit take care and many hugs.
Love to all

QueenJess Don't despair, you sound like you're in the same boat as me on the decluttering journey. It seems to be getting harder to declutter things. Hugs 🧡

Back home and brought things for the refugee/ homeless project but traffic meant too late so may be next Sunday. Also brought a few things for me (mums sewing box , not that she sewed but I used it when I sewed with one of her friends and its prettier than mine and some things to post. Had some scammers via FB etc which makes me wary. Dd2 not tidied up but as she's stressed about school tomorrow trying to bite my tongue. Decorator here Thursday. Going to add nos this week, will be a guesstimate!
