Reporting back in but 235 unread posts to catch up on.
RL continues to be challenging. Lovely to see lots of family at DB's funeral but not the best circumstances. DS and BIL (from US) came back with me for a week and then I took them back South again. Lots of money spent on fuel etc. Then I went to Northumberland coast for short break with DS2 and his youngest 2 and we had a lovely time. Right on the beach and weather was glorious. Tumble dryer had died the week before so huge pile of washing was a challenge. Most dried outside but new one purchased yesterday as old one couldn't be repaired. I will catch up on everyone asap.

Have now started moving things back into my bedroom. It's an education in itself, I've never taken so much care over what goes where, what I keep and what needs to be moved on. Also not had so much free reign over those considerations ever. Just myself to please.
So that means a lot of things need rehoming, the cs will be pleased to see me again, I hope.
@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, you asked me if I'd found any treasure in the Wardrobe of Everything? Why yes! A stash of photos from my Dad's Navy days when he was a fire and rescue man on aircraft carriers in the 50s. Had a lovely evening looking through these with DS2 who was particularly close to my Dad. One of those evenings to treasure.
Also the attached recipe for Christmas Wine Cake typed out by either my Mum or her Mum. Think I'll make this this year instead of buying one of those Christmas Cake slices from Tesco. The splodges show this recipe saw action in the kitchen. You came away from my parents' at Christmas staggering from the booze in the Sherry Trifle & the cake. No need to actually drink anything!11 -
Thankyou @vulpix. Save me your bra please! Congrats to MrV on his retirement. Not sure how the caves will cope without the both of you.
Fascinating history stuff @Wildrose Makes the clearing out worth it.
Just back in to report a bag of clothes to the CS (an in and out so not counted) and a huge bag of pots to a fellow allotmenteer.
Found a load of blackberries hiding behind the shed as I cleared it today, so picked some apples and we have the ingreients for a pie. Yay.
DS did very well with his GS3 today. I am very proud of him. I hope his wife feels the sameWife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Been MIA ...sorry folks. Friend that went missing did not get the help she needed for a week. So supported her hubby and sat with her as she could not be left. Finally a hospital bed was found Monday. Also helped a friend with a sick dog and so many other things.
I have done some decluttering though. Went to look in loft for clothing for my break to Scotland next week and found several bags of clothes that my hubby had squirrelled away up there. Nothing of any meaning so took them to the CS. Also found my MIL vat returns from 20 years ago (LIKE WHY????) brought those down and shredded them. Took books from Summerhouse to the CS or recycling. Bookcase will now have to wait....it has a maker and a number. Some are up for sale on ETSY for £350. I am not sure they will get this but I now feel I just can't free cycle it.
DD and SIL came as a surprise on Sunday. They helped me move a few bits in the garage . Found lots more things for the tip in the process and these will go tomorrow. Freecycled a bit of a kitchen cupboard.
Finally finished cutting up most of the wood in the wood stores ready for the workman tomorrow. That was a job and a half!
I will be away for a week from Sunday and not even sure we have reliable internet but very much looking forward to the break. Have read everyones posts(another reason I haven't had time to post)Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D11 -

Down at my dads again. DB and nephew and niece came down and we went in the loft. Found many more boxes of books that we've left there but other things, my dads raf medals from ww2 , his school newsletters, debating society in 1938/ early 39 discussing Germany and Post war list of ex pupils served in war and those indicated where died or missing in action or in prison of war camps , very poignant, my dad lost alot of his friends.
Found my a level economic book ' economic problems of the 1970s' sadly increasingly relevant.
Tip run today and boxes of stuff to take home for refugee/ homeless project . Popping home tomorrow as DD 18 on Friday and then coming back here for a day or two. Radiator picked up and other things posted for free, realised similar address in the US so just amended this.
Think my girls will take little from their grandads and don't want to have my hoarding tenderdencies. Been in CS shops as high quality stuff here and resisted!
When home need to do my stuff as decorators starting and still need carpet before get too cold.
Take care all, and reading along. Take care all. X11 -
One house up for sale today! Hurrah!Put something up on local FB page and it was collected this evening. By a lady who’s taken a few things from me now ( i don’t care who gets it as long as it goes!) so just said I’ll leave it out at front porch, just collect. )
Tidied my ribbon collection. I’ve got lots of ribbons used for various things and they were rather untidy.Tidied spice cabinet . A few very out of dates chucked! And I thought last years Christmas tree would have been used this year but it totally died a death in all l that heat we had so it’s in the garden recycling bin ( with a trail of blooming pine needles still to sweep!) ,14 -
3758-3760: 2 GB data and 50 emails deleted.
3761-3762: Met a friend in town and, after discussion, realised I could sort out a storage problem for them so 2 ring binders, 5 A4 plastic wallets, a wodge of punched plastic pockets rehomed along with
3763: a Darth Vader biscuit tin (bought 2017 in Hull) and
3764: a gluten based frozen pizza which of course, I can't eat.
3765-3772: items to recycling, mostly packaging.
Not back at work till Monday... Need to read the meters tomorrow.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

I have been picking up items in charity shops again as I am looking to decorate my house for autumn. I decided to see if I could put together a bag of things I don't need for the charity shop. Success. My husband can drop the bag off today when he goes to get his hair cut later.
I made an odds and ends curry yesterday and might add a few more bits like a bendy pepper and some frozen peas and have that for lunch or dinner. Thinking about it, I do have a courgette that needs using up too so that might go in too.:) Oh yes, I might grate it in.10 -
Great clearing out @teachergirl . I have very few things of my dads now and nothing like those treasures
Fab news about the house being up for sale @mhagster
I didn't get to finish the side of the house or the pots yesterday so that is my task for today.
