Holiday Mantras
1. Try not to eat too much but drink plenty of water
2. Restrict time playing AB2 to 45 mins in the morning & 60 mins in the evening 😉
3. Breakfast everyday with the family 😉
4. Enjoy the excursions
Saturday & we are rapidly approaching the end of our holiday 😢 😭 Met up for team breakfast in our usual place (Dorado) DH & I both had cheese & mushroom omelettes - DH had bacon & sausage with his & I had beans with mine. Managed to get lots of marmalade for the toast today 👏 T & I were tempted to ask the staff to cover with clingfilm & put it aside for us for Sunday & probably Monday as well 😉 but being very British, we didn’t 😔 Just sparkling water & coffee for us 🙂 Then wandered along to our cabana - DH & S went straight into the sea to feed the fish, I had a drink then went in with the rest of the toast. Find of the day was a hermit crab with red legs in a shell with the top halo being pinky blue & the spiral at the bottom being white & black striped. Unable to find a picture that even closely resembled the shell ☹️ We were also treated to an aerial display by at least half a dozen frigate birds who flew low & close to the shore waiting for the fishermen to drag their net out 😉 Did a bit of sunbathing which was disrupted by a 10 minute rain shower & then went to lunch in Dorado. I had the almond crusted goats cheese salad & some fries. DH had chilli chicken skewers, followed by steak & chips. Rum & cokes + sparkling water. Although the food was mostly as delicious as ever the service was dire - no spoons for the soup - asked 3 times before a different waitress brought them, missing portions of fries & very slow service - lunch took over 1.5 hours 😔 Returned to cabana, had another dip but there was a group of people fishing in the water - not from the rocks & making a real hash of catch & release 😡 I returned to room & DH followed about 30 minutes later after having a 3rd dip. We are about to shower & change & then head off at 6:00 p.m. - you have to arrive early to have any hope of getting a table for 6 without having to wait until 8:00 p.m. or later 😔 Apart from the 10 minutes of rain, it has been wall to wall sunshine & very hot 🥵
nannywindow, I have to say that yesterday’s torrential downpour did cool things down for a while 😮💨 Sadly I cannot remember the name of the memory plant 😂 & don’t think an ideas plant was mentioned…….. but then again 😉
Back again in a while after I have my shower 🙂 although I am enjoying listening to the rather soothing Chinese music that is currently playing 🙂 Was a violinist playing at yet another wedding 👏
It is now 11:17 p.m. - we headed off to dinner @ 6:00 p.m., tried to get a table in Armadillo - first available table was for 8:30 p.m. 😱 So we tried Hunters Steak House & were given a beeper & told 45 minutes to an hour - fair enough as time to have a couple of drinks 😉 However 2hours & 15 mins later we were finally seated 😔 DH had the iceberg wedge followed by the pork ribs & fries (he was a little disappointed as the outside of the ribs was a bit crunchy ☹️. I had French onion soup - so delicious & also filling - followed by the beef tenderloin en bouchette (again!) with mash & creamed spinach - just as delicious as the first time - perfectly cooked (compliments to the chef). Sadly I was so full that I only managed one skewer ☹️ - gave the 2nd one to DH. We finally finished dinner at 10:00 p.m. Everyone is usually in bed just after 9 😉 Back to cheerleading rather later than I expected 😉
nannywindow, definitely not wrong to enjoy the space created by packing/loading the van 🙂 Is there one designated area that the van contents could be stored over winter or are they just stored in available space around your house? Well at least your DH tried or should I say your DH is ‘trying’ in the non complimentary sense of the word 😂🙃 Sorry to hear about your DH’s cousin, my condolences to you both.
Thanks Floss 👏 well spotted as the hummingbird was definitely tiny 🙂
Excellent work Rootle 👏 Maybe your DH was saving them to create an art installation 😉😉
You have worked so hard mhagster 👏 a bit of therapeutic weeding is well deserved 😉 What a lovely idea to donate tools etc to the allotment 😇
teachergirl sounds like it is time to visit the TLC carriage - it is well stocked with snacks & hm goodies as well as a huge tea urn & a good selection of alcoholic drinks 😉There is even at least one massage chair 😉 What a great way to motivate yourself to continue decluttering - 30 minutes decluttering rewarded by 15 minutes of a favourite pastime 👏 Excellent decluttering 👏 Perhaps take photos of the spaces in the garage & shed so that you can admire your handiwork & will not be tempted to refill the spaces 😉
Great decluttering EnergyShifter 👏 What a relief for you that DS is on a more even keel & you have managed to have a productive discussion about his Autumn plans 😮💨
Excellent work TC77 👏 Sounds like a few tweaks here & there have made your bedroom feel bigger & less cluttered - well done 👏
Great work short_bird 👏 Good luck with Operation Hunt the Passport 🍀
Good night to everyone 😴

Finally put weedkiller down on few large persistent ones but didn't know it was going to rain!
Decided to sort my room, rearranged modular storage, took out office chair, took down large clothes rail and replaced with small - wardrobe is too small and I like having a few clothes out as wardrobe awkward corner. Small bag to CS, hairbrush I can't sort out, ood food, lots of things put away. Bedroom much better but still needs tidy of smaller things, one large duvet cover added to animal shelter pile. Posted a few things, interest but no-one turned up, one email frog sent,

It turned into a horribly stressful week. Lots of worry and fear but little I could do about it.
The plasterer is coming tomorrow so today I'm moving the bedroom furniture into the living room, which is already crammed with DS2's belongings. I'm going to go through each drawer (15 including desk) and decluttering as I go. It's about all I'm up to. Also 3 wardrobe shelves as they contain things I need access to. Might be back for advice.
Edited to add, this week I decluttered a subscription to a newspaper which I had several times previously rang to cancel and they always lured me back with lower prices. But it isn't just the monetary cost but the time cost (way too long as I'd get drawn in) and also the effect on my mental health of spending so many hours reading negative news. But this time I ignored their blandishments and it's cancelled. Felt relieved I'd got that monkey off my back.10 -
The skip collection has been arranged for Tuesday which gives me a couple more days to find more things to fling in it.Ran into one of my neighbours putting some metal out for the scrap man so offered her some skip space if she had anything to go, so we now have a well broken up chipboard single wardrobe in there. This week I’m taking the week off (Birthday Week for me and two friends) so will be spending the time rearranging the house again and spending some time in the TLC carriage. We did treat ourselves and pull the stair carpet up in the end. 92 years documented in carpet width!Oh and more plaster drying! 😉Good luck with the plastering @wildrose!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Checking in. Loving the holiday pictures @MrsSD and thanks for the gold star. Things rumble along in the background. DS2 decluttered Covid but I had a positive test today. Felt grotty yesterday but just feel as though I have a cold today. Hoping small people don't get it.

I think it might be a very long week for me. DD has a temperature and is very grumpy. She only wants me and screams when DH comes near. I know it’s nothing when lots on here are going through much harder times, but I really don’t deal with lack of sleep very well and I haven’t had more than 3 hours sleep in a row (on a good day) unbroken for over 16 months now 😕 and I’ve never done more than 6 hours of sleep in 24 hours (it’s usually far less).I’ve tackled some of one of the cupboards I feel is too full. I keep all packaging to reuse, but the reality is I have far too much and I can’t see me getting through it in reality. I’ve just kept a handful of bags/Jiffy bags and all the rest are going. That’s almost a box of things gone from there already.
Decluttering progress:
2505-2574 - packaging
2575 - broken flip flops (I loved them and they are not fixable. Down to my last pair)
2576-81 - batteries used up and recycled. I think that was the last of the non-rechargeable ones

@QueenJess that doesn't sound like nothing at all! It is so hard to function on so little sleep, you're doing well to be getting through each day let alone actually decluttering too. Don't underestimate how gruelling it is to be so sleep-deprived.6
