I remember the Pitons and the waterfall thank you !
I am still decluttering but got overwhelmed by the numbering so stopped posting
also had a surprise heart stent and 10 day hospital stay over the Jubilee ( the opposite of decluttering! )
still read here most days and am in awe of you all8 -
Sorry to hear of your sad news Granny Kate. For those of you who love the sight of drying plaster….
I’m currently nursing a couple of plaster stains out of my oak threshold. Apparently wet plaster draws the tannins out of oak (who knew?) so I am currently removing it with very careful applications of white vinegar and an artistically draped rag. The worst of it is now out but I have some specialist tannin remover arriving tomorrow.Credit to Mr G00gle for helping me understand that it was the tannins out and identifying the specialist product and the late ‘Mummy Floriana’ and her arcane knowledge of home stain removing remedies.Special treat for me today - removing the disreputable stair carpet before cracking open the gin ahead of birthday week next week.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hello all, I have been MIA as we had the DGC to stay last week and I think I was chained to the kitchen trying, and failing, to fill their ever open mouths 😂 We had a great time filled with fun and laughter and I started with a full freezer and fridge. Both appliances are now depleted as they have decluttered almost everything except some salad, although they had a go at that too ! Anyway they (and their rabbit ) are now back home with DD and Sil who had a lovely break in Belfast.
Today I have stripped the spare bed and washed the bedding, put the single quilt and DH's sleeping bag out to air, then sorted out some holiday clothes and did a freshen up wash on a few of the tops. Sadly now I have a full ironing basket but I can do it at my own pace as we don't go away till next Monday. The caravan stuff has also been sorted through and all the necessary things are ready to go. Some plastic hose has been binned as it had split.
During the week I have recycled several delivery boxes, lots of plastic food cartons and a pair of DH's DIY joggers, think he's been soldering and burnt holes in them 🙄 2 pairs of his underpants and a pair of mine have been washed and cut up for rags. A board game has been earmarked for the cs as no one enjoyed playing it as it was too long winded 😂
GrannyKate I'm so sorry about your DB, he fought a hard and long battle, my heart goes out to you and yours. My DH has been battling for over 7 years even though they gave him 5 at best. I hope he can keep on going as long as your brother although I think I'm hoping for a miracle 🙏
MrsSD you seem to be having a fantastic holiday, I'm loving the photos ! I'm awarding you a gold medal for keeping up with all the cheerleading whilst on hols 🥇
Well done to all those getting the building work sorted and those doing fabulous work with all the decluttering. Sorry I can't remember who said what specifically, my head doesn't retain much these days, so if anyone has a spare brain ....... ?
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Hi ,love the drying plaster.Mum having a tough time and not recuperating as she should. Personally I think she was in agony such a long time her body is in shock.I have managed to paint a trellis for the garden and painted the front and back door handles black. Also painted the letter box. I also touched up a shire horse shoe that my Grandad gave me when I was about 8. Got it on the wall near the back door. Hopefully get the trellis up tomorrow as my home grown kiwis are loving their spot and going crazy.Out
I smashed another plate
Solar lights that have not fulfilled their
promise. Our bed given to step son along with mattress protector and sheet.I get rid of so much stuff, I don’t know why my house doesn’t feel empty!

Struggling as DD2 (17) is clearly struggling but uncommunicative and refusing to do anything, even put her things away (clean clothes/dirty dishes) and stuff feels overwhelming. Did good stuff at home but feeling abit low. Realise have all stuff from when animal place was closed so going to put back in car (taken out for trip to dad's), also school uniform to donate again in Sept.
Don't think I added nos, 2 diaries gone, abit of paper clutter, emails deleted, 4 items binned (some DD2) and 5 items in CS bag.9 -
And for Friday ( another shift yay! 8 to go!)
went round for an hour this evening. Car boot filled with bags of garden waste for early tip appointment tomorrow ( I’m just hoping there’s no beasties!)
Hoovered so decluttered 3 canisters of dust. Left hoover there as I’ll hoover tomorrow once niece has taken furniture.
put a few things up for free on my FB page so one is getting picked up tomorrow. And dropped off a good bottle of whiskey I found at the back of a wardrobe to my husband’s friend. I thought it was a tin with more blooming knitting needles in it so was surprised to find an unopened bottle! He was delighted!Edited to say have found a home for garden things . Going to allotment that I used to go to.9 -
