Oooft what a day !
round at mums early loaded up the car with plastic/ wood/metal/ rubbish and down to top for it opening at 8am. Happily unloading when crunch!
chap in front of me had reversed his heavy trailer/big car in to my wee car! And then was about to drive away. I was upset. I was furious. I was at the end of a very short tether. I was I can’t actually believe this has happened! So I’m now sitting in the waiting room at the car garage getting my car checked out! Not much visible damage but such a big clunk from such a big car to my wee car!In better news doggy was at vets and he’s doing so well. Back next week to get his stitches out. Will need to go round to mums later on when DD2 home, don’t want to leave doggy on his own too long. Have a pile to go to charity shop in the morning.Edited : evening update.
car filled with stuff for charity shop drop off tomorrow.
Did a bit in the garden . The patio is a big square of 2’x2’ slabs so my aim is to clear 4 slabs a day ( weeds /bring covered by overgrown bushes) so I’ve managed 8 squares today.Nice chatter with NDN over the fence.8 -
Holiday Mantras
1. Try not to eat too much but drink plenty of water
2. Restrict time playing AB2 to 45 mins in the morning & 60 mins in the evening 😉
3. Breakfast everyday with the family 😉
4. Enjoy the excursions
Our new cabana is great - a member of staff even comes to take a drinks order if you are too lazy to walk 20 yards or so to the bar 😉 Everyone went into the sea at least a couple of times as it was so hot 🥵- the skies were blue & the sun shone on & off the whole day. Saw plenty of fish including a new one with stripes from head to tail & lots of crabs. We had lunch in our usual place - just a few yards further on from the bar. DH had a goats cheese salad 😋 & then popcorn shrimp & chips. I had a fried mixed fish basket to myself, mimosas/rum & cokes + sparkling water as the drinks of choice. Then we headed off to the main building & booked a day trip - The Tout Bagay Tour. Cruise, mud baths visit, drive through volcano & a lunch - booked for Monday. Stayed on the terrace & had ice cream then everyone else headed back to the beach. DH accompanied me to book an hour in the Spa - 40 minute full body Swedish massage with 20 mins refreshing facial. Back to the beach where we saw an egret - photo below
A couple more sessions in the sea plus a few beers & a cocktail called a Bob Marley - layered red, yellow, green - more like a slushy with the attendant brain freeze as we were drinking them 😬 Left the beach 5:15 p.m., returned to rooms, showered & changed & headed off to The Calypso - Caribbean Food restaurant at 6:30. Put on a waiting list so had a drink & listened to the rather good but very loud electric guitar player until 7:30 when we were seated at our table. Everyone enjoyed their starters - 3 had crab cakes, 1 had patties, DH had cod balls in batter & I had smoked Marlin carpaccio (delicious & lots of it 🙂) Main course - 3 had coconut encrusted snapper with either sweet potato mash or plantain - no-one enjoyed it as it was all very dry; 2 had goat casserole (enjoyed by both C & DH) but I again had the best meal - a shrimp pot with plenty of sauce & sweet potato mash - a bit spicy but so tasty 😋 The last rum & coke C had was the wrong way round - a measure of coke topped up with rum 😰 undrinkable 🤢 The guitarist had been replaced with a very good band
Back in rooms by 10:00 p.m.
There is also another wedding - we saw the bride & she looked beautiful 😻
We can see the wedding party from our balcony & listen to the music
Will cheerlead on a separate post 😉
Decluttering lots of plastic drinks bottles 😉

Sorry to hear your friend was unwell EnergyShifter ☹️ but nice that you enjoyed your ‘pottering’ day 😉 An excellent day of decluttering & so satisfying when you can set off a chain reaction 👏
vulpix, had to smile at your tale of ‘feral peacocks taking over’ 😄 You have been busy - not only decluttering but washing, cleaning & tidying 👏
bit_by_bit, a fairly good day indeed - cuddles with a baby are always good 😊 Sounds like you need to take charge in the CS 😉 as it is rather annoying when things aren’t priced properly 😖 Good luck with the bra collection 🍀 Hope you manage a good night’s sleep 🤞
GrannyKate, here’s hoping that DS2 can stay positive & that the situation is calming down 🤞So very sorry to hear about DB 😞 You should stay in the TLC carriage for as long as you need. Please take care & sending gentle hugs 🤗 your way.Good work TC77 👏 Sounds like you forgot to parboil the potatoes before putting them in the freezer - only joking 🙃
Excellent work mhagster 👏 & pleased to see that the nice chaps at the Tip are so helpful 🙂
vulpix, I hope you are at least doing a rain dance in the drizzle 😉 What a lovely way to make a new RL friend - thank you to Guineapigsqueaks & Sa1sysoo for starting the original decluttering thread back in 2015 👏 & continuing it each year until I hijacked it 😉😉 Well done to your joiner - MrV must be champing at the bit to turn the giant shed into his studio 😉 Sorry I missed MrV on the BBC - a hideous T-shirt is better than a rude one 😁 Good luck with the cushion covers fight 🍀 Sorry the holiday tales are not as exciting as the America trip 😉
What a lovely thing to do Fizz2015 😇
bit_by_bit, I hope you were also singing when walking in the drizzle 😉 doesn’t sound quite so good as Singing in the Rain 🥲 Sounds like you had a good day 👏
Nodding off now (11:45 p.m. here), so will try & catch up with the cheerleading tomorrow.MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Mrs SD amazing photos
Using my graph paper to try and record things out , and things put away. Friend yesterday telling me in no uncertain terms (v kindly) that I need to sort my own things out before getting stressed with DD2. Going down to my dad's to hopefully sort some things out. Kept paint for DD2 who wanted to paint her room, 18 months later she's decided not worth it as will be at uni in a year. I asked if she wanted it to paint anything else she said no, and then i said maybe there is something we can use it for and then accused of being a hoarder! Next door garden being done, and I didn't realise alot of sand being used and didn't move my car! Hoping rains overnight and it gets abit cleaner.14 things out (some in CS bag, bra, candle and charger etc, others recycled or binned and 20+ things put away. Realise how many things I leave lying around8 -

Hey everyone!
Centeral heating in, was finished by Wednesday afternoon but the house is starting to look a lot more modern now!
In terms of decluttering, not much has been done still as we're still slowly tidying up after the building work (going down off my meds further has caused me more pain)

Currently clearing the hall/stairs/landing ahead of the replastering starting Monday. It’s surprising how much stuff there is there…….
I can’t remember if I mentioned that we’d been through the shed to identify any extra bits that could go in the skip? They are currently lined up waiting for the skips arrival on Tuesday. The plus side of that is we have worked out where we could put a freezer in the shed!I’m currently plotting out budgets and savings plans for the next round or replastering (front room - planned for next year) whilst trying to account for the cost of living and energy price increases. Despite many years working in financial services (before I decided to use my powers for good 😉 instead of making money for other people) I still dislike maths!✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Hi, just a quick check in: I have 2 time sensitive projects on the go.
1a is ensure there's space for the engineer to get to the washer and replace the door hinge; 1b is ensure there's enough space to remove the fridge that failed its PAT (portable appliance test) and bring in a new one. Also involves having a fairly clear fridge and waiting for the new one to settle for 24 hours.
Project 2: sort some records so dealer friend can take a look.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Mhagster I admire your determination to carry on regardless. I am sure a lesser soul would have crumbled by now. X
you lot are so busy. You put me to shame.I have cleared the kitchen of all the stuff waiting to do jobs. Jobs were either done or the stuff put in the pantry or giant shed. It looks sooo much better. The joiner is finished. Electrician coming next week. The cable is already in place under the stable bricks.Mr V going to work soon. I am going to give the back door hopefully it’s final coat of paint. It has been either too hot, wet or sawdust flying. Then I will potter in the garden. It is all coming together now. I am still deciding what to do at the front of the house. Luckily my builder is amazing and can share my vision. I just say I want a curved wall about that high and he just builds it. Still undecided what to do atm. Mine is the last house on the road so a cul de sac. I look at a large stone wall which was the wall of the mill, now demolished. Presently there are some cobblestones along the bottom of the wall. I thought I might get some dug up and have a slim bed to plant climbers. I have time to refine my plan. The lads are on another job for a while yet.Better get on with it then.Forgot to say. 2 tennis balls given to neighbours dog.Vx:8 -

Saturday is hot, hot hot 🥵 will reach 30C. Started with clear blue skies but now have some clouds but mostly white. DH showered & got beach ready, I washed & got beach ready. The other 4 went down earlier than our prearranged time, so we met them at the cabana. Had breakfast - fruit platter & toast & marmalade for me with the obligatory mimosa & coffee. Then back to the cabana - DH & I had a swim then I relaxed in the shade & got mostly dry - my massage is today. DH had a 2nd dip. Came back to our room at about 12:15 so I could shower & change + DH has showered & changed. Meeting the rest of the family for lunch then I will have my massage whilst they relax on the terrace with ice cream & melon water.
See you later.
