Hello! Just back in from an hour at mums. Blimey it was hot! Obviously house all shut up so the heat was just contained. Upstairs was awful!Anyway I’ve decluttered some weeds, some plants in garden recycling and then some plants in tubs for here ( I’m keeping the nice ceramic pots).
Some rogue mugs and plates in bin. Some glass & plastic & paper in recycling bin.
Had defrosted freezer so cleaned all that out and washed towels that I’d put down on floor. Just hung them up to dry overnight.
If I can get a tip run booked for first thing I’ll nip round before DD2 leaves for work. Not wanting to leave doggy for long until I’ve had vet check up on Friday. Got an appointment for 8am .At home I’ve sorted more photos/paperwork etc into appropriate piles. Chucked out random photos of randoms who mean nothing to me.Dropped off a bag of books from here at supermarket shelf…was looking a bit bare now I’m not filling it everyday 😛10 -

I am pleased to hear your dog is on the mend Mhagster. We had feral peacocks in the village years ago. They took up residence in my brothers hedge. They ruled for a few years. They used to stand in the road and stare down cars!
I have made the most of the cooler weather today. Stripped and washed the spare bed from when DD2 stayed and did usual washing too. I didn’t do any washing when it was so hot, I couldn’t face hanging it out.I have moved a heavy wood shelf unit from spare room to ours so the trundle bed can come out for DD1 and BF at weekend. I have thoroughly cleaned the bedrooms and bleached the grout on parts of the bathroom tiles.Just need to make up the spare bed and wash bathroom floor to be ready for visitors. A bit of dusting and wash kitchen floor and we will be cleaner than we have been for ages. I finished the cross stitch card today too.Tomorrow I will sand the back door and give it another coat of paint.Oh,just remembered, I need to go and try to put some cup hooks in the garden wall to hang some solar lights up.Out. Dead bra and a pair of socks

Thankyou @TC77
Glad you got there uneventfully MrsSD Enjoy your break
Welcome aboard @Sarah1Mitty2
Great going on your decluttering @teachergirl It is best to get rid of storage options like shelves otherwise you just start piling them up again.
Doing great @mhagsterGlad your dog is recovering.
Yhat sounds like a lot of cleaning @vulpix. Worn out just listening.
So a fairly good day today. Went to see DS1 plus difficult wife. Had hug with baby and listend to woes re family. Came from their straight to CS. Very tired at the end. And Pxxxd off after someone took a very expensive item of the dummy in the window and I sold it for less than it was worth because I thought someone had failed to put a dot in it. Happens a lot in my shop.
I wish they would mentipn expensive items Grr.
Waiting for a person from Gumtree who didn't pick up yesterday and hasn't arrived for the item today. I have sold a book on The bay for a decent sum so will post tomorrow.
Hope its cool tonight because I had a rubbish sleep last night.
Starting a bra colletion to raise funds for a breast cancer care charity and to be used abroad. i will be aslking all my friends including you @vulpix

Just popping in to read posts and keep up to date. Thanks to @Vulpix everyone for the kind thoughts and hugs. Still hiding in the TLC carriage but yesterday, which we knew would be dreadful, went better than DS2 could have hoped. Long way to go but it gave him a boost. Sadly DB is fading fast with the Big C and had a stroke today. I am going down Friday. Stress number three I got bitten and developed cellulitis in right leg. Much better now. I keep going and sitting with feet in paddling pool for an hour. Onwards, half an hour at a time.
A few odd things going out which I am keeping track of.2025 Decluttering Campaign 697/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

Holiday Mantras
1. Try not to eat too much but drink plenty of water
2. Restrict time playing AB2 to 45 mins in the morning & 60 mins in the evening 😉
3. Breakfast everyday with the family 😉
4. Enjoy the excursions
Wednesday has been a lovely & relaxing day. Some sunshine, several heavy rain showers (but the rain was warm ☺️) but warm & humid so the rain showers were very welcome 🤗 Usual trick of waking up every 2 hours 😉 Met for a leisurely breakfast at 8:30 a.m. - we all had mimosas (C had already had a West Indies coffee at 6:30 a.m. 😉) I had the fruit plate & some toast whilst DH had scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon & toast. C, S & my DH went to the rep briefing whilst W, T & I went to the coffee lounge & had the W.I. Coffee, water & ice cream - sitting on the terrace overlooking the resort. See below.
When the others returned they had a coffee & DH had ice cream. We returned to our room then met up on the beach & managed to acquire a cabana 🥳 DH & I went into the sea fully - warm bath temperature 😉 Everyone else had a paddle and went in one of the many pools. Then a leisurely lunch - crispy mixed fish bites (see photo) for my starter shared with S, then I had grilled tuna in a grilled bun - masses of tuna so everyone got to taste it & I only ate the bottom half of the bun 🙂 Either mimosas or rum & coke + plenty of water.
Returned to the cabana, chatted & relaxed but DH & I also spent lots of time in the sea. We left after 6:00 p.m. see sunset photo below
Returned to our rooms, showered & changed & are just off to have dinner. Currently out on our balcony listening to the very good live band 🙂 It’s a hard life 🤣
Back later to describe dinner & also catch up on the cheerleading 😉
Hope everyone is well & hasn’t got too wet 😉

We went to the Sports Bar - noisy as there was an air hockey machine & the food wasn’t particularly good. Burger & chips for four of us, fish’n’chips & Phillie steak for the other 2. Slightly cooler night & back in our rooms about 10:00 p.m. Tomorrow will probably be another lazy day but might be booking a couple of excursions 😉
Now I will try & catch up, at least a bit, on the cheerleading 😉
vulpix, enjoy the heat whilst you can, I think torrential rain is forecast 😉 Sounds like a decluttering spree is on the cards - your offspring will wonder what has hit them 😂 Oops to the unintended decluttering 😬 I bet you only got rid of the traditional mattress bed because it is more difficult to change the bed linen 😔 Well down on the decluttering 👏
cashlink, I agree with vulpix - bag as rags & donate to a charity shop but be aware that not all cs will take them, so you might have to check first 🙂
Florianatwobob, I fell off my chair reading about your travelling & drunken smalls 😂
Love it Floss 😉
teachergirl, hope the money hits your account soon 🤞Ooft to the heat 🥵 Strange place to keep alcohol 🤞unless of course you are hiding a young man there 😉😉🙃 Perhaps invite a friend round who you know likes ginger wine, ply them with sandwiches & cake - they can then do a taste test & take the bottle if it is OK. If not it can be ceremonially be emptied into the toilet - might be good as a descaled 😉😂
Good luck with the bag of rags, cashlink 🍀
What a great idea Siebrie 🙂 Not sure there is anything like that in the U.K. but someone on the decluttering thread will know 👏
nannywindow, sounds like the rain is just teasing you 😉 but enjoy it while it lasts 🙂 Well done on tackling the 2 cupboards 👏 I quite agree that medications are packed in too big boxes 😔 As to the watches, it seems a shame not to wear them especially as you have almost enough to wear a different one each day for a week, I think a visit to the opticians is definitely the order of the day 😉 Brave lady re your next haircut 👏 I am coming round to the idea of getting DH cutting off 3 to 6” of hair - but it might have to wait until we get home 😉 Loving the reminder that even one item out is a success 👏
vulpix - definitely agree that the P……… have been disgraceful in their dealings with teachergirl 😡
Dropping off, so will be back tomorrow 😉

Good morning! Well I was round at mums about 6.45am this morning. Need to be able to tag team with DD2 being there for doggy. So filled the car ( again!)
Paper/card/wood/plastic/metal and one lot of rubbish. An absolute car load but at least it’s all out the house. Big queue waiting for gates to open. Nice chaps helped me unload stuff.
cut a big bunch of buddleia.
one broken mirror from my downstairs loo that just happened to fall on DD2 the other week and every time I go in I think I need to take that to tip!
and another bag of books from us to supermarket.7 -
Hi chums.I am currently enjoying some drizzle. I yearn for rain. Not rained here for months.Time to come out. Bit by bit and I have become friends in real life after meeting through this thread. I am sure we would all become real friends if we were to meet, we have a lot in common. 😁
The joiner is almost done. He has done a beautiful job of insulating the giant shed. I will be glad for him to finish so I can get on with the front garden and painting said giant shed.I have confiscated a tee shirt of Mr V’s. Supposedly for wearing to work under a sweatshirt. He was only interviewed by the BBC the other day, wearing the hideous thing!🤦♀️I will save bra’s bit by bit. Not the recent one as the bit of material in the middle of the cups has ripped. I buy quite a lot of bra’s, I have coloured ones that could go. I don’t know why I buy them as I always choose to wear black or white. I will ask at craft club and DD’s too.Need to press on. I put the sofa and chair cushions in the wash last night. I will have a go at the arms with some upholstery cleaner and fight the covers back onto the cushions. Will do the door when the joiner is done and no sawdust flying about.
Thank you for holiday tales Mrs SD.Vx:11
