Heya ,
Huge thank you to everyone for the well wishes!
It was the job I wanted and actually spent a lot of time preparing for (Bad I know, but I was just looking for anything to get out...this job advert seemed different). It's the same company where my dad works but I'll be in a different department doing emails and typing - no calls involved which is a relief because I am so sick of people screaming in my ear about something that can't control.
They are super flexible too with chronic illness too.
The building work is going great so far, heaters are on the wall but the pipes need to be laid down. Hopefully they will be done by Thursday then I'd have a day to relax ... i say that but I don't go back in work until next Wednesday
As for decluttering, not too much is going on,
but I did break my goal for this year (which was 100 things)#100 Pair of socks#101 A handful of smellies#102 Empty shampoo bottles I forgot to get rid of#103 Un-needed files on PC#104 Un-needed files on google#105 Unsubscribed from job searching emails🗑️Mission Declutter & Clean 2022🧼 - 105 Items

@Mrs_Salad_Dodger, good idea about asking the cops to put like with like! Not that they've turned up here, maybe because it is 38.8 degrees right now. News is saying its 38.1, my mistake. Brain is baked.

Have a good trip Mrs. S_D.
This last week has been interesting. George fell twice - the last time today - he is currently in the hospital. Doctor is trying to get him into rehab. Sometime roommate Dante broke up with girl friend. Turns out he has been having problems with Borderline Personality Disorder. He is back here maybe permanently. Diane is still missing 5 library books - and refuses to clean up to find them. So we are going to have to tackle her room this week. Lots have been binned this week. Jason the other roommate has been cleaning up the front of the house - slowly. But on a good note, we made $271 on our Library book sale last week - enough to pay for a couple more children's programs. I have just been too tired and bothered by everything going on to even think about keeping track of what has gone out. This summer I think I will be practicing the Swedish Death Cleaning routine - I have several boxes ready for my sisters and my nieces and nephews already - will celebrate my birthday next month (I'll be 75) by giving everyone else presents.14 -
Have a fabulous trip Mrs SD.
Failed even with DD2's help to put the pedestal fan together , and bit we have put together I can't get apart so unsure what will happen.
Work taken over and will for rest of the week . Debating whether to sleep on the sofa at too hot in the loft where I sleep and spare room bed covered with things I can't move on my own!
Just remembered I didn't sort through the blueberries from the market on saturday - just rescued some for a snack tonight and a few frozen and rest out. I for today and add the other day's to a total now 1105 . More discussions with DB who is at our dad's house trying to sort things out. He's focusing on books - things I keep saying I might want, and not shifting the electrical stuff which I think is a priority but then I haven't been doing my bit - much further for me , need to take a leaf out of your book @mhagster
Hope everyone manages to stay cool enough for tonight and tomorrow.9 -
Fingers crossed @Wildrose. Big hugs.
Fantastic new for winning @teachergirl V. TheP I was so hoping it would all get sorted.
Well done on reaching your goal @accidentalglixch I have a bit of a way to go but not worried. It will go this year or the next, but it will go.
Its non stop in yor world @weenancyinAmerica I have eased off helping people out this last year to save my won marbles and to get on with stuff I want to do. Please please please, like on an airplane; look after your self first.
Sounds like you have enough on your plate @TC77 Take it easy. You will get there in the end.
So not much done today. I do not do well in the heat. I posted a sale, watered the pots and met one of the Dil with baby for breakfast. Had a lovely chat and cuddle.
Tonight I sorted through three shelves of books. Removed ones I will never read and put in the sale or giveaway piles. Room now for those shelves to hold my diaries and notebooks for a while. A winter project is to work through those and write a summary of each year, then dispose of. Most of them are not that interesting anyway. The words tired and busy are used too frequently.
I did list some stuff one The bay and Gumtree tonight. Got some takes for gumtree stuff. Good job because some of it is DS2s and the money is mine, as he owes so much. Anyway. The items are not gone until they are gone.
Keep cool everyone

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedHad my cooling bath 🙂 DH & I each had a sandwich & more coffee/water. Finished packing. Car was 40 minutes late so good job we were only going to the airport hotel 😉 Pleasant enough journey. Checked in & in our very nice (but expensive 😱) room just before 9:00 p.m. Freshened up then went down to bar & had a beer + a club sandwich each. Back in our room by 10:45, watched a couple of old episodes of Mock the Week 🤣
Very pleased to hear that it was the job you really wanted accidentalglixch 🙂 They sound like they are/will be an excellent employer 👏 Fingers crossed the building work finishes on time 🤞Good decluttering 👏 & one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way for reaching your target 🙂
Thanks for that Wildrose 👏 I will investigate when I get back. Thanks weenancy 🙂 An interesting week but I think slightly less stressful than the previous 2 weeks 🤞 Your roommates are definitely challenging 😰 but at least Jason seems to be pitching in 😉 Has the husky been rehomed or are you still taking care of her? Excellent result from the Library book sale 👏 Some time ago I watched a short video on the Gentle Art of Swedish Death cleaning - seems like a good approach to me 🙂 Taking on Hobbit birthday practices 😉 but I do hope you receive at least a couple of presents weenancy 😄
Thanks TC77 🙂 You probably need a 14 year old to set up the pedestal fan 😉 Fingers crossed you have got it working 🤞Good decluttering 👏 Now, now - if your DB is there he should deal with the electrical stuff 😉 You are doing your bit - supporting from a distance & will visit & help when you are able/have the time 🙂 Good work on your decluttering 👏
Lovely supportive post bit_by_bit 👏 You are not alone as I don’t think many of us do well in such high temperatures 😔 However you have done well & I hope that next year’s diary will have far fewer ‘tired & busy’ entries & many more ‘stress free & relaxed’ entries 🤞Wishing you every success with sale items (especially the DS2 stuff) 🙂MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Hi all, I got home from my travels yesterday but was much too hot and tired to log in and I have been woken up by thunder rumbling and rain. It hasn't lasted long but it has cooled it down a fraction. I did 4 loads of washing and got them dry in about half an hour so the ironing mountain is threatening to build again but it is much too hot to even think about it
I took 2 pots of rose cuttings to my sister along with the 2 books she requested and a decorated Christmas cake that was due to go down before Christmas but my sister cancelled the visit so it has been finally delivered. I also took her a pair of fingerless gloves I had made from some wool left over from a shawl I made her for Christmas. Totally the wrong time of year but they are out of the house. I brought back a worm bin which my sister wanted rid of as she just couldn't keep up with everything when my bil was in hospital.
Well I have 15 pages to catch up on so I will get on with it now but meanwhile hugs to all having a hard time atm.
Take care everyone10 -
@teachergirl, so sorry to hear about the problem with the insurance company. Honestly I sometimes think they have no training at all. A friend of mine called about a policy her husband had for loss of earnings due to ill health and was told it only applied if he was really seriously ill. Her reply was that as he had died she didn't think it could have been more serious. She did eventually get it sorted but it is the last thing you need to be having problems with when you are grieving.. Big hugs.
