@nannywindow why did I never think of putting the quilt over an airer in the bath? That will be todays cool down job. DH can help and get wet with me as I think we can wrestle it onto the whirly gig and water the garden too
It will make the neighbours wonder what we are up to as they can't see over the fence
Need to declutter the remnants of the car boot that came home, that can wait till the week of summer has passed.
Had 2 lovely days at work, I only say that as we have a great air con system and the coolness of it is great. It was lovely to come home last night at 2015hrs and be able to have my tea outside and then sit and chat with DH. Perfect summer evening.
Enjoy the weather and stay safe Peeps.

Stay cool everyone Did a bit of decluttering yesterday evening because I just felt in the mood. One very disreputable rug binned and replaced with a carpet off cut for kneeling in front of the washing machine. A whole stash of aluminium food trays recycled (why was I keeping so many?!?) and 3 really manky carrier bags binned too. Aiming for little and often...3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. Declutter from 22.5.22: 105/250 Car finance PAID OFF £7,848.88 IN 2019 (0% LOB)11

hi
I have also binned some old holey shoes, a stained cushion cover and a bag made by DD2 (keep looking at it in the bin and thinking i should fish it back out?!).
Also got rid of a duvet cover from the airing cupboard as DD1 took it to her house

I downloaded this photo, then had second thoughts in case of copyright. But can I delete it? No, despite many attempts. So here is a13th or 14th century stained glass moon, a postcard I treated myself to after 45 mins in anMRI machine. Beautiful, isn't it?
Keeping an ear cocked for copyright police storming my house, do you think they kick down the door shouting "Copyright police!! Keep your hands where we can see them!" then start searching the house for postcards? If so, do they declutter and tidy as they go along? Looking for an upside.

Cheque saga isn't completely finished. My bank can usually pay a cheque in via a photo on the app, unfortunately this is for too much money(limit is £750) So nearest branch is 15 miles away, and by the time I had the cheque I would not have made the opening time, go to post office which is apparently slower than other methods, so I have sent by post 🤞
Well I didn't really think I would do anything today but when I went into the loft the weekend, there was an empty box for my DVD/video player. This had stopped working at Christmas, as bizarrely, had the one I had from my stepmothers house. Decided to 100% check they were not working....tried new leads , different plug socket and new fuse in the plug.....no joy. So both players off to the dump and the box from the loft. The box in the loft had some old Christmas cards, now in the recycling. now chilling on the sofa, unfortunately the workman next door are still working so not very restfulEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D9 -
MrsSD it's ok about your hols you enjoy every minute, don't worry about me as happily we have booked one too, starts 8th Aug and lasts 2 whole delicious weeks. Nowhere as exotic as you though unless the natives of Somerset are revolting !! 😂 May even add on a few more days if we feel like it. Just why did you mention giant spiders, I hate the things, even the small ones give me the heebie jeebies 🕷😱 Now I have thoughts of one carrying off an apple or two ! 🤣
2 scratters enjoy doing the grape treading dance on the duvet too, very therapeutic if you can imagine someone you don't like !! Mine was dry enough after leaving over night not to drip when carrying it down the stairs. Didn't take too long to dry in this heat either.
Siebrie well done to the workers for carrying on. If you'd not turned up to work when we were employed we would have had the sack, heat wave or not ! Fingers crossed for the finish line this week and then looking forward to the end result.
Wildrose you made me giggle thinking about the " copyright police " breaking down your door 🤣 I can see the beauty in the photo so thanks for posting it.
I'm half way through decluttering the ironing but I'm having a cool water drink break then lunch and I'll get back to it, maybe 😏, I've done the most important bits anyway. I have my eye on 2 cupboards that need sorting too, but I'll see how I feel later.
Take care all, cooling hugs to anyone in need

I’m sure your rosemary will catch up. Mine has been in the ground for ages and loves to be baked by a hot summer. Locally we used to be famous for lavender which is the same family as rosemary so it’s thriving.Hopefully the chillies will catch up and start flowering soon. They’re underneath in an old bucket that developed a leak!Hope everyone is keeping cool in the heatwave (anyone keep expecting Diana Ross and the Supremes to pop up singing at any moment).✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter/Relocate one item every time I stand up.
5. Don’t put it down, put it away
6. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedThey weren’t kidding when they said Monday was going to be hot 🥵 currently 36C. DH went out & picked up a tower fan for DSis + some ice lollies & bottles of water. The bike registered 42C 😱
He came back, had a coffee & then went to barbers to get his holiday haircut 😉 I have done precisely nothing apart from drink & try to stay cool 😎 Will have a bath later & finish the last of the packing.

Stunning photo of the postcard Wildrose 🤩 almost looks 3D 🙂 You could always ask the ‘copyright police’ to put like with like in small groups as they hunt for the postcards 🤣
Very exciting Siebrie & what a wonderful & professional attitude from the head construction worker 👏 Enjoy your holiday at your parents 🙂
teachergirl I hope you sent it by recorded delivery 🙂 Another thing you can add to growing number of things to mention in your super complaint letter 😉 Excellent decluttering 👏Yippee to you managing to book a holiday nannywindow 🥳 Somerset is lovely ☺️ & the option to extend the holiday is a distinct advantage of holidaying in the U.K. 🙂 As to the sp*d*r/s remember they do keep the fly population down 😉 Lovely cheerleading post 👏
Great decluttering shabbychic12 👏 The Marie Kondo ‘sparking joy’ is a great way to tackle sentimental items 🙂
My rosemary needs transplanting florianatwobob but I do have a nice sunny spot picked out 🙂Thank you all for the holiday wishes 👏 The temp in St Lucia is set to rise to 30C with 70% humidity & about the same for a week but with good chance of some rain 🥳
