@nannywindow what are Sunday underpants 😂
@vulpix its horrible when you loose things. last week when away with my best friend I bought some ibuprofen because I was having really bad headaches. 10 minutes after getting home I could not find them. Searched the car the drive my bag and finally decided I must have left them at the pharmacy. Found them about 6 hours later down the side of the sofa🤦🏼♀️
The day started well. Took a bag of garden waste and all the shredding to the tip. Then took three carrier bags to the CS and then three black bin liners to the animal rescue. (need to make my landing upstairs back to a landing before Ds comes home for the night. )
Then decided to spend the rest of the afternoon working on my arbor. It's beautiful, covered with an ancient wisteria that flowers twice a year, several climbing roses, a lilac, honey suckle and a campsis. I can't take credit for it as it was here when we moved in. There was also a small pink flower climber which had really taken over making it very dark, also it had wound it's way around the lilac making it grow very tall . I have been gradually getting rid of the climber but it is so hard as it has to be unwound and it has thrown up literally a hundred or so more shoots. However one thing leads to another and I ended up working on the composting area behind the giant wisteria and got rid of so much vegetation I did another trip to the dump. I have loaded 4 bits of broken paving slab into the car, but I cannot take this to the local tip as they no longer take hardcore....so a trip to the next town is planned for the morning(with some other chores to justify the petrol)
Have had to stop the hard hacking of the climber as there are a couple of nests high in the lilac. I don't think they are being used but just in case I will leave this bit for another month.
Shattered now and slobbing on the sofa.
Still no money from the P**********😡 I tweeted the social media bod, yesterday, who responded to my first tweet, who got back to me and assured me they had rewritten the cheque. Useful this tweeting thing😉. So tomorrow???????
Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D12 -

Evening All,
Everyone is really progressing with decluttering. I'm plodding slowly.
New sofa is all set up and rehomed old sofa. The individual sent me a photo of the sofa in her home which was lovely and showed her appreciation.
House did have a clean before friend and her daughter stayed! Luckily she doesn't judge. Brought me a few bottles of cider to say thank you. We went to remember a school friend on her memorial bench, lovely location looking out to sea.9 -
teachergirl as short-bird says full of holes 😂 Fingers crossed for tomorrow and the missing cheque.
Vulpix I'm another who loses things especially if I've put it "somewhere safe". I still haven't found a roll of blue wrapping paper that I bought to wrap my Father's day present in 😂 It's in the house somewhere but where ? I found my missing secateurs on top of a hedge and I don't remember putting them there at all 🤔 Maybe there are gremlins at work !
MrsSD we've spent many a happy holiday sitting in the van and watching the rain over the last 30 odd years. It's quite comforting watching it running down the windows and not something I'd ever make time to do at home. The only weather I hate is the wind, but I don't like that even when I'm at home because it can be so destructive. BTW I tried to persuade DH to sell the radio but he flatly refused, not happening "for all the tea in China" apparently ! Oh well I tried.
I've spent most of today in the garden decluttering the lawns, they look much nicer and neater now, but boy was it hot and I was glad when they were finished. After the sun left part of the garden, I laid down some weed suppressant fabric ready to cover it with some decorative gravel which I saved in a very large bag before we had our new drive. It's expensive so I wasn't about to let the builder take it away with the unwanted soil.
Keep up the decluttering all, even only one item out is a win.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Vulpix , I'm another who loses things, @teachergirl love the sound of your arbour.
3 boxes recycled that I was keeping in case I sell things and have to post but decided going to give most things away, remember I returned items at the weekend and didn't count, email to shift frog along 1055 , slowly chipping away but hoping to motor on soon - mixed metaphors but can't think of better way to describe...10 -
Hi all. RL continues to be an awful challenge. Half an hour at a time is the best I can manage. Hoping to be away a couple of nights over this weekend. Sadly I was told this week that DB is finally losing his fight with the BigC after 22 years. I will list my small achievements.
982-983 Two S*y boxes returned
984 Letters posted
985 Rest of this months cards are all written ready to post
986-987 Two bags of plastic to Recycling

@GrannyKate just sending you a big hug. Nothing else to say really. For me sometimes the decluttering is something I can control when the things in RL are pants.(would use a stronger word...but you know what I mean) Small achievements are fine

@GrannyKate hugs being sent.
Re the landline can you find the chief executive email and ask their office to sort it, explaining family illness and don't have energy to keep chasing and can they escalate complaint. If openreach issue can go.to them direct. X
