You are going great guns roundtuit. I live in a dead end now so no passers by. At the last house I got rid of masses by leaving it by the gate with a free sign. You are amazing Mhagster. X I think you deserve an afternoon off at the very least.Nannywindow is your caravan static or mobile? A caravan stay at the seaside would be lovely in this present weather.Have a lovely time teachergirl.Have undercoated the back door. I will be able to get a top coat on before I have to pick Mr V up from work. The paint btw is duck egg. A nice surprise because I had forgotten, I bought it so long ago.Time for a bit of quilting whilst I watch paint dry.Vx:9

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Declutter one item every time I stand up.
5. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedTuesday continued overcast with no sunshine until late evening. I stripped the bed, put away the duvet, turned the mattress & remade with cotton bed linen leading to a more comfortable night’s sleep 🙂 Also phoned bank - cheque has still not been cashed so need to call cousin & investigate. Dinner for DH & DSis was cold pork, mash, lo cabbage - fried & lo roast potatoes sliced & fried. I finished the fried cabbage & had a sandwich. HG Raspberries (from BiL) & ice cream for afters 🤤 Wudupa.
1081 - 1087 Kitchen & office recycling, 2 cardboard boxes, 3 plastic bottles - recycled
1088 - 1092 Kitchen, office, lr, bedroom & garage detritus - binned
Wednesday is less overcast with some sunshine but still very warm. DSis has done her washing which is on the whirligig & I have put the 1st load of bed linen in wm & now on whirligig- 2nd load in wm. DH is in the garage making up a frame to cover the recently planted tomato plants etc - trying to stop squirrels & foxes digging up the plants 😬
1093 - 1094 Empty compost bag binned + broken F*tb*t
Excellent work oceanspirit 👏 and how nice to have some help 🙂 Admin is like decluttering - never ending 😔 Shame about the clothes but as you say a task for a winter’s evening 😉
mhagster, a shift at work & then more decluttering & gardening - you must be exhausted 😩 Please try not to overdo it 🙏Nice to see you otb666 👋 Well done on starting the big wardrobe declutter 👏 Please ignore yourhubby - you got rid of the boxer type pants/shorts for a reason 😉 I do understand ‘declutterers remorse’ but if you haven’t worn something for years it is probably not required 😉I always find shredding very therapeutic GrannyKate 🙂 More hugs coming your way 🤗
Well said vulpix 👏 Hopefully our thread encourages people to declutter more than just physical items 🙂Ouch florianatwobob 😣 maybe an encouragement to find a few items to sell 😉
Nice to see you back StickyTheStickInsect 👋 So sorry to hear that you are one of the many with long Covid ☹️ Also very frustrated for you that you had to resign from your job ☹️ I am however very impressed that you have found a way to manage your situation 👏 & am sending you lots of hugs & positive vibes that your methodical and careful approach will lead to a good recovery ❤️🩹Fingers crossed that the passports turn up in the not too distant future & then you can at least have the pleasure of making plans for a holiday of some description 🤞 & should something catch your eye you will be in a position to pack & go 🙂 You have been very productive - after all you have hit your annual target of 52 bags already 👏👏 Two Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ are on their way re 39/52 & 52/52 - excellent decluttering 👏 I have made a note of your new target 😉vulpix, you have reminded me that my F*tb*t won’t charge either - so has just joined yours in the bin 🥲 A joiner & a council contractor turning up - your cup runneth over 😉 A real pain about the Himalayan Balsam 😖 but at least now you know & it can be factored in to your gardening tasks each year 😔 The prospective of visitors does seem to concentrate the mind somewhat 😉 Good luck with the door 🍀Oh dear roundtuit 😔 The corridor of OVERWHELM sounds very daunting but you have made a great start 👏 I think sometimes that the getting started/restarted is one of the more difficult aspects of decluttering 😔 but once inspiration strikes it is a steady road to a clutter free home 🙂
teachergirl, enjoy the paddle boarding 🙂 As to P…………., it seems like they are an equal opportunities nightmare - not funny I know but hope it helps you feel a little less stressed 🤞 The good thing? about a ‘famous person’ complaining is that their post will probably be re-tweeted hundreds of times 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏
Well said Siebrie 🙂 I like the idea of “Category: Not mine. Solution: No decision required - Can go”
roundtuit, That is one of the things I love about our fellow declutterers - someone is always on hand to remind us of tactics to make decluttering easier 👏🙂 Don’t you just love a ‘decluttering moment’ - you are definitely on a roll 👏 Fingers crossed that the weather stays nice so you can sit outside 🤞 Good idea re the plant pots 👏
Isn’t that just the way mhagster 😉 I think there is a team of ‘clutter gremlins’ who listen out for anyone saying they have finished a certain category of decluttering & then recluttering 😂 Excellent decluttering 👏
Excellent work nannywindow 👏 With your DH describing you as having a Butterfly 🦋 Mind, you might find “ Clutterbug Styles” an interesting read 🙂
Lovely supportive post, vulpix 🙂 What a pleasant surprise re the paint colour ☺️ perhaps a photo when it is done 🤞😉
Excellent decluttering roundtuit 👏 Love the word ‘rammel’ - very descriptive 😉

Hi, I have been reading along, and impressed by how much people are decluttering and sorry about all the difficulties many are facing. I haven't added numbers for a while but with a few uncounted, plus a large shed shelf picked up, never used vanity case sold - got postage wrong
, receipts and bits of paper decluttered, candles and a few bits in CS bag, plastic bags corralled, broken pens out, and few other small bits going for 1045 as new total. Have a couple of huge frogs - one ongoing since 2020 and the other not far behind needing attention, calls/emails made. Think the item sold and never paid for, has had the same thing happen again which is frustrating. Tomorrow I can cancel and will then take to CS.
I keep saying need to tackle things properly and have noted that I need to do landing cupboard etc, have managed to squeeze more in it in the meantime so less out. See it more as a winter activity - although I'd earmarked photos for the winter but may have to move to 2023/24!!
Put a few tel nos/notes in diary rather than scraps of paper and paper recycled so moving to 1050. Hugs to those in need x and welcome to those clambouring aboard ... do stop at the TLC carriage when needed.9 -
I've moved the box for recycling paper behind the brick shed, and put out the general waste bin and the cans/ glass recycling box at the gate to be emptied tomorrow.
I've refilled the bird bath and hedgehogs dish, plus watered my hanging basket. And put the watering can behind the shed too.
I'll put the plant pots out on Friday to see if anyone picks them up over the weekend.
There is a little more living room floor where the books have been removed.
Paid stuff tomorrow and Friday. I usually come home and flump in front of the telly....but I'm hoping to keep the forward momentum ticking over.
Plan A - put trophies in a box
Plan B - sort books for L's sister
Plan C - sort bag of rammel.
All of which can be done slowly if necessary.
Thank you.

Absolutely nothing decluttered today (apart from a bag of M&M’s) but I had a lovely trip to the theatre to see Moulin Rouge. It was Spectacular Spectacular!I think we’ve flogged all the ‘good stuff’ that might make us some money Mrs SD!We’re fortunate that the money is there. I'm back ! and I survived the guillotine cupboard with all my fingers intact 😂 I have binned/recycled: -
3 pairs of DH's sunday underpants
1 bobbly pair of socks
A flash gun for a camera we no longer own.
A mini brush belonging to something ?
A very old rechargeable shaver
2 empty cardboard boxes from new shower gels, deodorants and shampoos and the contents have been put in the correct place.
1 round aerial
Several electrical wires and plugs
And an empty L*nx zip up box.
There was also an old wireless but it still works, is apparently rare and is worth about £400 according to the bay of E. The bids are already up to £350 😮 so DH will clean it up and put it back, sigh 😟 Well I suppose I've got to let him think he's still in charge of something 🤣
After tea I binned 2 more Takeaway plastic boxes, I may end up with all lids at this rate !
MrsSD I will definitely have a look at that site, thanks.
Vulpix it's a tourer but it's not quite ready to go yet. We need to make sure it's roadworthy and clean as it's been in storage since the autumn before the first lockdown. It's a shame really as it would have been lovely on the coast in this weather but DH has an oncology appointment on Friday and I have 2 appointments next week. After that the DGC have booked in to stay for a few days, so it will sadly be a few weeks before we're able to get away and it will probably be raining cats and dogs by then ! BTW I love the colour of duck egg, my bedding is that colour.
nanFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently8 -
Welcome @cashlink
and @otb666
Welcome back @StickyTheStickInsect You sound like you are doing well despite everything. Remember every little thing helps. I get your frustation though. Just been down with a flue like illness. Before that I was the fittest I hdd been for years. Ah well, back to the bit by bit approach.
Well done on the florr @roundtuit
Got rid of 4 in and out bags yesterday then had a trip to Manchester as DD was to look at a flat. We got there early, had a good look round and got a feel for the area, then viewed the flat.
Its not ideal but not the worst. Fills most needs for transport links, food shopping and a quietish area. She has been offered it and she has accepted. We were one of four viewings yesterday so very very pleased.
Did the CS this afternoon but so tired nothing else done apart from watering. Saw the hedghog last night but not seen or heard of any hoglets.

DH returned to the garage to work on the motorbike repair - option G ‘seems to be working’🤞DSis’s washing was dry so I folded it for her before pegging out my 2nd load of washing. Phoned my bank & overpaid my next CC bill which is due to arrive whilst we are on holiday & due to be paid before we get back. Very MSE of me 😉 I also phoned my cousin R & she will contact her brother about the cheque that has yet to be banked 😉. We chatted about the family & our upcoming holidays - all my cousins & their children are off to Italy to visit family. R will organise a family barbecue when everyone is back from their holidays. DSis contacted our DB in Germany - he is out of hospital after his triple hernia op but has to see the doctor tomorrow as he might have caused some damage by not obeying dr’s orders ☹️ Unlike me he hates sitting around doing absolutely nothing 😉 He is also very down as he was ‘let go’ - horrible euphemism & needs to find a new job 😔 DSis also got a call from her son in France - he has Covid & has been confined to his flat for a minimum of 5 days ☹️ He will be own on his own as he recently broke up with his girlfriend 😔 Dinner was steak, oven chips & baked tomatoes, mushrooms & peas 😋 Wudupa.
1095 - 1099 Kitchen recycling, cardboard box, glass bottle, drinks cans, plastic bottle - recycled
1100 - 1102 Kitchen detritus, polystyrene, plastic packaging - binned
Excellent decluttering TC77 👏 Especially impressed with starting to deal with 2 huge Frogs - good luck 🍀
Keep up the good work roundtuit 👏 Don’t forget to take a photo of the clear floor space 😉 it will remind you of your successes 👏 Hedgehog 😌
What a great photo florianatwobob 🙂 Sounds like you had a wonderful time 🥳 I thought you might have a Stradivarius or Rembrandt in the attic - remember the Tommy Cooper joke 😂 If not, you might like to look it up - less than a minute long & absolutely hilarious 🤣 Although your one- liner is very funny 😄
Brilliant work nannywindow 👏 As to the old wireless, perhaps you can work on DH & bring him round to selling it 😉 There must be something that he would like instead 🤞As to your tourer, even time away when it is raining could be fun 😉 Hope DH’s oncology appointment goes well.
What a great result for your DD bit_by_bit - a flat in Manchester that meets most of her criteria 🙂
I am getting very excited about potential sightings of hoglets 😜MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟
