Hello all, hugs to all the poorly ones and anyone in need.
On Monday I went shopping for trainers as mine were only fit for gardening and I hate shoe shopping as I need a half size to be comfortable, but managed to bag 2 pairs, a pair of sparkly black canvas shoes, acting my shoe size instead of being sensible old me 😁 and a lightweight rain coat, all at half price ! The best thing was that I only decluttered my birthday money so there was no cost to the clothes budget !! With the last of my money I bought 2 jigsaws in the wo*ks for £7 ea ( for sale on the big river site for £15 ea + postage 😬)
On the decluttering front yesterday, out went :-
2 empty shoeboxes
A pressure washer "gun"
Several old water, waste and gas caravan hoses
Black bag full of cut up old awning
A broken shower head and hose
A plastic caddy holder
and 3 paint charts
Today we have been cleaning our caravan and I have thrown out:-
2 citronella diffusers
A finished gel air freshener
Broken light
A black bag full of weeds from around the van, now in my green bin and the black bag which ripped on the journey home 🙄 also binned.
Empty bottle of blue loo.
And on checking the first aid kit, thrown out, but will need to be replaced:-
OOD indigestion tablets (2019)
Rusty medical scissors
Absorbent cotton dressing, package opened.
Lint dressing, package opened.
I have also filled a cs bag with bits and bobs which will be collected on Friday ( it was already half full )
Tomorrow I have to declutter some blood when see the vampire nurse 🩸🧛♀️
Take care all, stay safe and well.

I would like to jump on board with this. We are a family of three with our fair share of superfluous stuff in the house, plus still have far too much baby accoutrements (the child is 5 now 🙈) floating about. I've come to realise I can keep a house tidy or clean, I do not have the energy or will power for both. But hope by getting down to mostly just the essentials, the tidying will largely take care of itself and then I can keep the house clean (or I've just drunk the minimalist's koolade!) Anyway, this is an experiment that I am keen to try. Count me in!10

Out:1 large 70L plastic container that broke when a door fell unto it, filled with other hard plastic bitsthe styrofoam from a new TV we bought 7 years ago....a small container with metal bits (old screws, etc)a small container with electrical odds and ends (broken cable, old electric razor, etc). All free-of-charge deposited at the tip.Took husband's company car to the garage to check what the orange light on the dashboard was for, spent 2 hours waiting for them to figure it out and fix it. Apparently, a weasel had had a nibble on some wiring; they thought they had the replacement part in, but it was the wrong size, so they've ordered it and I'm to return today. I'm happy they get it sorted so quickly, because the car is due for its first MOT next week and would have failed. The lease company pays the first check, but won't pay if you have to return.DD1 is now registered for the next year at her school. All first 2 years at Flemish secondary schools are the same, then the pupils pick whether they want to follow more academic schooling or more hands-on schooling. DD1 did really badly last year and doesn't get to pick, she has been told she's in the hands-on programme. She only got to decide whether she wanted to do the more office-y side or the more care-y side. She picked care. She has wanted to become a kindergarten teacher from when she was 7, and has a knack for dealing with small children. Her programme will not allow her to be a kindergarten teacher, but will allow her to be either an Assistant at the kindergarten or work with babies and toddlers. We did a quick check of vacancies, and the salaries are fine, as are the benefits, so for the moment, we can live with it. She was offered the option to resit the second year, but she chose to continue. As we concluded: 'it's not bad, but it's a shame'.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.5910

Well, hello!Long time, lots happening!!I am having the ultimate Declutter! Two months ago I was served a No Fault eviction 😞 I am now squatting in the house that I’ve paid £10,000 a year to live in for the last 5 1/2 years 😳😳 it’s rather nerve- racking to say the least. Now that my notice is up, Housing Options can get on with finding me a suitable property but there’s a high chance I’ll go into temporary accommodation. Everything is up in the air, I am totally packed and ready to go. Even living out of my suitcases 😂😂
if I have to go into the homeless hostel or bed and breakfast, I’m going to treat it as a holiday! I’ll have no house work, chores or responsibilities - how strange will that be! I’ve got my free bus pass, 12 weeks concession at the leisure centre and an open invitation to spend six days a week at our community Craft Centre 😃
I’m so proud of my packing - it’s definitely quality over quantity these days; everything has a purpose 😃 I smashed my £2022 goal awhile back and have reinvested some of that into sustainable, low impact kit. It’s a simple life – I just want to be warm, comfortable and not bored 😉😂😂 i’ve got another auction coming up this month and hoping to make a similar amount again. As well as cruises and cheap flights, I’m looking at ferries!!Proud Charlie has gone on holiday with a foster family - he’s settled in very well but I have no idea if I will be able to have home back. I went to visit him at the weekend – he’s definitely made himself at home and is not fazed by their lovely collie or nosy cockatiel 😂
I’ll have to sit down and have a proper catch up – this thread is huge!!12 -
Lots going on for everyone. Im wading through the treacle of the family crisis - think I will have to go out today while GDCs are at school. Distraction and tea needed. DS2 decided to start on my small bathroom so things started coming off the wall. Thought about some major changes but really can't justify the money at the moment. Paint and new lights bought ages ago so not much to buy. Some tiles and flooring then I might treat myself to new towels. Very sunny room so blinds have gone very yellow. Bedroom ones are the same so probably need to replace. I bought enough paint for both rooms.

Vascodakarma, so sorry that you are losing your home. I love your attitude to the situation - I need to adopt the same way of thinking.
Managed to accidentally set kitchen on fire by leaving kettle on gas stove and falling asleep. The plastic handle melted onto the gas flame and ... woooooof.
Firemen recommend I buy an electric kettle! I had the gas one because it was easier to put away in cupboard when not in use - my decluttering desire to have clear worktop has backfired.
So all the cleaning of kitchen has to be done again. Everything is covered with sticky black plastic soot (including inside all cupboards and their contents) and smuts and will take a lot of cleaning. Still haven't cleaned living room or second bedroom from the bug infestation so this is a major setback and I am exhausted.
So, will just have to gently get on with it and hope I can get it done before winter.Decluttering Awards: 🏅🏅8 -

@oceanspirit does your insurance cover the items, fire brigade help, and maybe a cleaning service?

Oh my goodness. Is there something in the water today! Big hugs galore to you all Xxx
I have been struggling to post for a few days. My phone is on its way out.I have had the misfortune to phone the council this morning. I had the most jobsworth, obstructive woman to deal with. My trouble is once someone is like that with me I respond in kind. I should have taken my own advice which is:- Don’t grapple with a pig because you will both get dirty and the pig likes it! In the end I just said I will have to end this conversation now, thank you, goodbye.LOADS chucked in the bin today. Stuff from the shed. Loads listed to give away. Wood, curtain pole, Victorian sink brackets. Etc
This afternoon I will try to tackle Himalayan Balsam on the disused lane. This is what I was trying to inform the council of. It is an invasive plant which has to be reported. I also hope to start planting up in the front garden. The builders are on another job for a few weeks so I have time to regroup and tidy the kitchen where everything has been dumped in the last few weeks.Just to add,the waste of goods at the end of the university year is a national phenomenon. Shocking.Love to all Vx:9
