3074-3090: items to bin and recycling including the usual heap of packaging and some retired underwear!
One of last week's life maintenance tasks has borne fruit and I now have a cheque to pay into the bank - kerching! - which is a task for Monday.
The electrician should be here tomorrow at 9-9.30am for what will hopefully be a one hour job. I think they need to check all the light sockets so will get a couple of bulbs replaced that I can't reach - I'm sure there are replacements in the bulb collection.

@Vascodakarma so sorry to hear how things are going and like others amazed how you're coping, and glad you've visited charlie. Hugs to you and others struggling @oceanspirit and others
Work taken over, but decorator been again, but has got paint places it's not meant to be, ood food. It will be next week before I think I can do more. Been trying to clean when I have time, as some areas very neglected and doing some like with like.

Pretty quiet on the decluttering front except for the front garden which had a serious pruning, so serious it completely filled the green bin which means II'm not sure I have room to put the grass in there should I cut it. Did a couple of mini tip runs, car was in no way full either time, and now I'm just gathering some bits and pieces to do the next one. There is going to be a clothes cull in the next week though so that may be a few bags worth going out or being repurposed into tops [ I decluttered some money buying a new sewing machine with an auto threader because it's so hard to see these days...]Vasco, good luck with what happens next.Vulpix, lovely garden! That's a very big lot of hard work in that.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi7

Hi all, Oh my some worrying things going on since I was last here.
@Vascodakarma I hope you find somewhere new soon but you are doing amazingly well, big hugs
@oceanspirit that is very scary but as Siebrie says if you have insurance you may be able to get them to pay for cleaners, big hugs
@vulpix the garden looks fab but the lady at the council needs reporting as well as the Himalayan balsam. I once had a similar situation with a man from the council after they had relaid, very badly, the curb stones outside my house, long story but I am afraid he got very short shrift from me and it was sorted the next day. I have no patience with people like that, I would have waited for years if he had been polite.
Hugs to everyone else as well, you are all doing so well
@CynicalPinnacle welcome, lots of really lovely people here who will help you along your journey.
@Mrs SD, yes some of the ironing mountain could be sorted with a shake and a fold and I plan on doing that tomorrow after I have sorted the airing cupboardso I have somewhere to put it away
I will have to do it as there are clothes in there I want to pack
The man who is going to do the pointing got here today and typically wanted to come next week while I am away so I have to phone him again when I get back but the good news is he said he can do it. I have had such problems getting people to do these little jobs precisely because they are little but this is holding up the new kitchen and was really starting to depress me but hope springs eternal ......
I have cleaned out and cleaned the fridge and made a big pan of fridge bottom stew which I had for tea as OH was out and have frozen 3 portions for another day.
Another load of washing on the line and a few more things removed from the conservatory and put away.
My sister has emailed back and only wants 2 of the books I listed so I will have to try to dig some more out and either sell or give away the rest. Another job on the list
Take care everyone7 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks

Just lost my first post 😖
Thursday stayed sunny & warm. DH has been doing a cull of paperwork, magazines, cables etc from his office. I have cleared down more paperwork including today’s mail + more programmes from TV planner. Won £50 on Premium Bonds 🥳 Dinner was scrambled eggs & bacon bits on toast for DH & me. DSis had a sachet of rice with added bacon bits. Wudupa. Milkman paid.

The garden is coming on beaurtifully @vulpix Such a transformation
And beautiful bathroom @Wildrose
Woke up hungry for the first time in a week. I have lost nearly 5 pounds but not the way to do it really. First time outdoors today. Off to plot to see what the damage is. I have neglected it for about 5 weeks now due to being away or ill. Will have to rest when I get home though.
Pleased to report a hedghog looks like it is going to make us proud 'grandparents' as it is building a newst in a sheltered spot in the garden.Wife, mother, gardener, nurse, Big C survivor. Glad you are feeling better bit by bit. I know you will take it steady. Baby hedgehogs aaaaaw.Liverpool Anne I am still smarting about the woman yesterday. I will leave it though as on paper it looks like I started it by an ill received comment. She asked if I was Mrs, Miss, Ms. I said does it matter in this day and age? It went down hill very fast. I complained about a woman last year from a building society. I phoned her on the number on the letter which had been sent to my house. She refused point blank to help or suggest who might help as according to her I lived at an address which I lived at 15 years ago. As I got the post code of that house slightly mixed up she refused to deal with me. Despite the letter in my hand. I got a letter saying they were unable to do anything about it as they had been taken over! Some people are just rude and delight in being as dreadful as possible. It’s not what they say but how they say it.The gravel is here. I don’t like it. It is too yellow. Beggars can’t be choosers, there is a shortage. Difficult to send back 2 tons of gravel. I am disappointed. Also disappointed with the giant shed. I have to live with it 😢
More Himalayan Balsam wrangling for me today.Vx:6 -
Oh thank goodness it’s Friday! Week one of five done at work! One down four to go! ( I’ll declutter working weeks too😆)
Out slightly later than I’d hoped and when I got to car checked my tip appointment…20 minutes time so straight to mums.
Carcass of chest of drawers gone. So that’s set 1 of 3 gone.Mums bedside table that she made in a woodwork class in 1969 gone. Two bags of rubbish. And a bag of recycling plastic from work …seeing as I was going to tip.
The penultimate ( please!) pile of books taken to supermarket! And tried to get another appointment for tip for today but none left so first thing tomorrow morning.8 -
Good afternoon.I’ve been lurking here a few weeks after seeing the group mentioned on instagram & after soaking up all the inspiration thought I might request permission to board.Had hoped to hop on the decluttering train from 1 July being half way through the year. Naturally RL then got in the way as I caught COVID. All I did until today was crack open the new notebook & made a plan, room by room. Yes, I’m another with a love of stationery 😀The energy levels are still low, but returning slowly so I’ve made a start today.1 broken clothes horse to the dump
2 a bundle of cardboard taken to the dump
3 old broken coffee maker & several other small electrical items taken to the dump
4 library book returned
5 no longer required recent unused purchase returned to ASDA
I’ve made a start, just need to keep the momentum going!9 -
welcome @purplepumpkin_2
A plan is a good place to start, especially if it is written on lovely stationery
@Vascodakarma, that sounds stressful but you seem to be dealing with it very well, hugs
I've broken down a large cardboard box and put it in the recycling - it had been in my living room for 3 months but was sneakily hidden by the floor length curtains! Also recycled some other cardboard & paper.
I decluttered an annoying work email and resultant bad mood by filing the email in a folder so i couldn't see itI did feel better for doing that
love to all
