And I’m back. My big working days done however I’m doing a summer job Tuesday to Friday for 6 weeks. Was asked. Was suitably flattered being asked so said yes. It’s just mornings and it’s doable.( she says after just one day)
Anyway went home after work grabbed a doggy and we went round to mums. First time since Friday.Chat to NDN over the garden fence. Eyed up some roses 😆
Opened the cupboard under the stairs and it’s now sorted.Booked a tip appointment for tomorrow so will take 3 bags of rubbish ( at least depends when I get out of work tomorrow if I’ve time to go round before tip appointment) a box of small electricals, cardboard , random bits of carpet! There’s a box for charity shop.
Then went through to kitchen.Oooft at the memories. There was a full dinner set bought in early 80s for overseas visitors. Then under that I just saw the edging of plates and just knew. The good plates. The plates for Christmas and New Year dinners. I’ve not seen them ( nor thought of them for years) but just knew and that was a wee gulp moment. And loads of Pyrex dishes that made puddings and macaronis. And Bundt tins that made banana cakes. An enamel plate that must have made a million apple pies. And many years ago I did Tupperware and she would buy it from me so I’m reclaiming some of the good stuff! And a box for charity filled too and I don’t know what to do with the rubbish plates? Any ideas? Not really good enough to pass on.Anyway I picked my roses and some hydrangeas, took 10 books to supermarket. I thought I was nearly there with books till I opened a cupboard on Friday 😩😩😩
And the sun is shining and I’m going to go out in my garden! And eat the ice lollies I bought in the supermarket 🍦11 -

Stress was due to finding out that DS having a difficult time with his Dad's wife while he's been staying with them. (Even ExH admitted it was coming from his wife rather than DS) I found it very upsetting & worrying thinking of being in that situation when he's been so ill with his mental health. His Dad seems to have handled it reasonably well & DS seems OK & will be coming home tomorrow thank goodness. We'll all have to have a big talk once he's back.

Mhagster the plates, might they go to a refuge or if chipped and tatty broken up to line plant pots? (Might be too late in season for planting). We went in May to see MIL's new home and came away with part of an old toilet she was breaking up to line base of plant pots.
May you find your sister soon Helli.

out: 1 soup bowl with a chip.A friend had gone through her wardrobe and took out all the clothes she realistically will not fit again. They are still nice, so she gave them to me 'for Africa'. Of course, I went through the 2 bin liners to see if there was anything nice
I now have 3 longsleeves, a skirt, a top, and 3 T-shirts. 2 items went into the fabric recycling bag because they had small holes, 3 items I am saving for dds. The other 1 and 1/3 bin liner will indeed go to Africa with the next container we're sending there.
I finally managed to contact husband's health insurer and they confirmed they will not reimburse the part of the GP's fee and the pharmacy costs we have to pay ourselves. It's a shame, as my old insurer did reimburse. Anyway, it's a frog, eaten. Our dishwasher was starting and then stopping. Husband thought it was the machine, and after a perfunctory search where nothing was found, decided he wanted to buy a new one. I thought it may have to do with the water pipes, and asked him to check the flow from the kitchen sink to the sewer. He did, with one of these spiral things, and then put the pressure washer on (I don't like the pressure washer; I think it just moves and solidifies the problem). It helped for a bit (at least the normal sink was draining, but the dishwasher still didn't continue working), but yesterday, it clogged up again. Husband is in Africa for 2 months, so it fell to me to actually solve the problem. I used the spiral thing and found a spongy bit about 150 cm in. I'm guessing tealeaves, oil, and uncooked egg (the bits I'm always telling everyone are bad to deposit in the sink); I ragged the spiral thing through several times (really yukky brownish gunge came out with it), then used soda crystals and hot water to get rid of the oily build up. It seems to be working properly now; I'll try the dishwasher tonight. Also, out: lots of small cardboard boxes for items husband took to Africa, but took up too much space in his suitcases, so he only took the items.I took all afternoons off in July and August, and am doing tasks in 15-minute intervals: 15 minutes gardening, 15 minutes reading, 15 minutes clearing 1 pile of papers in the kitchen, 15 minutes reading, 15 minutes playing with dds, 15 minutes gardening, etc.Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.597 -
Hi all, yesterday was warm so 3 loads of washing done. The ironing mountain is seriously getting out of hand
I did a little decluttering in the consevatory. I have about 20 boxes of books in there that were packed up from the small bedroom / study. I have told my sister I will sort some books for her so as I am visiting next week I dragged a couple of boxes out and had a rummage. The first box had books I hadn't read yet so a pile have been moved to my bedroom so I can access them rather than rereading the ones I have or trawling through my kindle for more to buy. The second had work related books and I know she won't want fundamentals in A level physicsso I will have to think about what I do with those. So back for the next box and I have found some I think she might be interested in. I have sent her an email with the list. Any she doesn't want I will try to sell or put on the table at the sports centre. Part of the problem is that both of us are avid readers and over the years have recommended various books to each other so we have both read a lot of the same books. My sister used to only buy new books, refusing any second hand offers but she is happy to take them now
I have always loved second hand book shops as well as new ones
So with a rearrange I have decluttered 1 box and a few other things that were on the top of the boxes were either put away, like with like, more pens, hand gel, and stationary bits or put in the bin.
My back was much better so we went swimming and it seemed to help. When we got home I went to water lovely neighbour's plants and as I was climbing back over the fence the back complained again so I will have to watch that but it seems fine today.
The swim kit is on the line and I am having a cup of tea listening to our leader on pmq
Take care everyone7 -

@mhagster, the plates might be useful for art or craft projects if they have any sort of pattern on them even if they are chipped. I quite often see requests for things like this on local for free sites, might be worth posting there. I also quite often see single plates and part sets in cs so it might be worth asking.
Take care everyone7 -
Thanks Liverpool Anne & Triple H
It is ghastly outside wild and wet! I got a bit wet and muddy so I’m just out the shower and jammies are going on as I ain’t planning on going back out!Booked a tip appointment/ cancelled a tip appointment ( times this by three 😆) and then the third time forgot to press submit so it didn’t log in the system but the grumpy chap let me in and I shouted thank you on the was out! We can only have one appointment on the go and I kept changing the time!Anyway in the tip went 2 bags of general rubbish, another box of small electricals, hundreds of empty cassette tape/ DVD boxes, paper and cardboard, the random bits of carpet. And a random carpet sweeper from the seventies! And five heavy books into supermarket
Then popped up to my boss to give her young daughter a huge box of stationery which she was delighted with. All I asked for is a drawing! Then back round with doggy. He likes the going out to the garden as soon as we go in the house and that’s about it. The rest is all really boring and can we go home yet?Two mature clematis plants and a nice speckled red pot (v heavy) that was when I got dirty…the getting them out of the car was when I got wet!I filled another two boxes for charity shop, sorted piles of remaining ( that I know about) books. So just ( fingers crossed) 4 more drop offs at supermarket. However I’ve not went into a particular cupboard yet. So there may be more.Went through a load of photos. Chucked a pile and kept some.Have brought home 3 big brown envelopes of ‘stuff’ not exactly sure what’s in them but shall peruse. Think it’s mums families stuff so that can get passed on to the relevant relatives! Then I was every bit as fed up as the dog so we came home ( also with some lovely but wet roses and hydrangeas. Mum would have loved how prolific they’ve been this summer and my very favourite buddleia just about to bloom! And I was in at work in the morning!7
