13 DVDs off to the CS today, decluttered *literally* while the kettle was boiling. Just grabbing bits in a small space of time when the mood takes me seems to work at the moment.

Floss, sorry that sounds even more difficult x
Overwhelmed and realise (or my theory) that my brain has to try and decode all the crap before finding the right thing and it's exhausting and I have visual overload and therefore important to clear the clutter for my mental wellbeing. Books on a bookshelf my brain can classify as books, but on the stairs, or things where they don't relate is hard work. Does that make sense to anyone?
Deleted 000s of email, emptied and hoovered small drawers, taken off fabric on dressing table and washed, and dozen things binned and more in a box for DDs to consider....meltdown with DD2 who promised to do a few things before going out, and didn't,
ironing and more washing done, some paper decluttering and filing (talking small quantities but progress), 2 pens out, and fountain pen working again, things put in more sensible place, being generous and counting as 25 new total 1015
Sorry, feel I'm posting quite negative comments but trying to keep going!12 -
What a busy morning! Housework done and various things flung behind closed doors ahead of the plasterer coming to quote for the hall, stairs & landing. As suspected pretty much all of the plaster is blown (it is 90 years old though so hardly a surprise). Money to be decluttered to him shortly as well as the skip hire. Oh the neighbours will love me as they like to park outside my house and I think thats where the skip is going to go.Food delivery received and put away too.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

23/52 - item sold and posted so some pennies into our coffee fund. Packaging reused too.
24 and 25/52 - took a trip round the house collecting items for the bin and now binned. More trips required but I'm hoping eventually I won't have any rubbish hanging around.9 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSaturday has started as a bright, sunny & warm day - same as Friday 🙂 which saw us driving to Kent for a meet up with DH’s DSis & niece to sort out paperwork for our trip to St Lucia. We had a nice ride down as it was sunny & the traffic was free flowing. We had a buffet style salad for lunch & lots of catching up on family news. Eventually we got around to filling in the online form with passport details etc. DH’s niece (S) was doing this & got caught in an endless loop of putting in the details over & over again with no end result as they never processed 🤔 Finally phoned & got a recorded message saying the lines were extremely busy - presumably everyone else was having the same problem 😔 The visit was not a complete loss though as we decided on a few trips including zip wiring through the jungle - apparently only the 3 ladies are showing an interest 😉 I also managed to ‘acquire’ some huge sticks of hg rhubarb, a container of hg raspberries & also 5 tomato plants - all compliments of DH’s BiL 👏🙂 So a lovely visit all round 😉 & we eventually arrived home about 7:30 p.m. having left home at about 1:00 p.m. Not such a good trip home as there was quite a bit of traffic. We did see a police take down though - cars charging through red lights & then 4 unmarked police cars surrounding a white van & dragging the driver out 😱 Dinner was mash, burgers, beans & fried eggs. Wudupa.
Saturday is looking like it will be a lovely day so I will probably do some washing & sort out the acquired produce 😉 DH is currently tidying/rearranging the garage whilst I am posting (although I have dealt with my post)

Great work DuranGirl 👏 Is your Happy Dance a variation on a Rain Dance 😉Even in ‘maintenance mode’ you are still doing an excellent job on your decluttering QueenJess 👏Hope you are feeling a lot better now ☺️ Over 2500 items decluttered has earned you another Gold Star ⭐️
Well done on filing your Tax Return, Siebrie 👏 One medal 🏅 on its way 🙂 I am not a fan of having to sort out your own tax - always thought it was a complete abdication of government responsibility & that if you sort out your own taxes then you should get paid for doing so 😉😉 Very impressed that you are flexible enough to ‘tweak’ the building plans 👏 Not too impressed by the builders ‘forgetting’ to quote for work & now charging creatively 😖 However, once all the work is done your home will look & feel wonderful 🙂 Hoping you will post a couple of pictures 🙏
Excellent work RamblersTrail 👏 I am pleased to see the division of labour - DH in loft 😉 I cannot remember the last time I went in the loft - definitely one of my DH’s jobs as is mowing the lawn 😉 Not sure you need to watch decluttering videos - you seem to be decluttering like a professional 👏Sorry you are feeling overwhelmed Fizz2015 ☹️ Having a plan should hopefully make the room cull/tidy a bit easier 🤞 Taking the time to help a friend to feel better is worthy of a medal 🏅 Even 5 minutes in the TLC Carriage will help - perhaps you can sit down with a cuppa & just relax. Let your mind go blank & savour your tea/coffee.Sorry you are feeling so stressed GrannyKate ☹️ but I see you have found the silver lining 🙂 One medal 🏅 as you are almost a third of the way to your weight loss target 🙂Thank you for such a beautiful description vulpix 👏 I am looking forward to seeing the finished product & am hoping that you will post a picture or two 🙏
2Scratters, wishing you lots of good fortune in your mission to sell, sell, sell 🍀 Don’t let DH spend too much time in the loft - he might convert it into a 2nd den 😉🙃 I am also sending you the strength to resist your Dad’s blandishments to take too many items now he has decided to declutter 60+ years of possessions 💪A very successful day mhagster 👏 You have done more in a day than I have done in the last 6 months - so please be very proud of yourself & accept a Gold Star ⭐️Good work TC77 👏 What a pain re the buyer not paying 😖Sorry you are still feeling so wiped out EnergyShifter ☹️ Please do take the time to have plenty of rest & drink plenty of electrolyte drinks 🙏 Very MSE re the new blinds 👏
Wildrose, no need to be surprised 😉 All the small efforts decluttering & tidying do mount up - one day you think you are doing badly then hey presto all the clear spaces come together & you realise how successful you are 👏 The impossible made possible & very pleased to hear that this thread has provided the encouragement ☺️
QueenJess, what a nice gift to a neighbour ☺️Great work short_bird 👏 Fingers crossed that friend with van is available & that electrician can get the work done efficiently & quickly🤞 Please make sure you are fully recovered before returning to work 🙏 Also just noticed that you have gone past 3,000 items, so one Gold Star ⭐️ on its way.
Floss, so sorry that RL is causing so much stress & worry ☹️ Sending hugs 🤗 & positive thoughts your way.
Good work TC77 👏 & lovely wish for Floss ☺️Be back shortly as I do need to get on & do at least something today 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Hi everyone - I have started my decluttering journey again and am this time determined to get rid of of the clutter which fills our house.
Today I have sold 40 plaster tealight holders I made years ago, 50 paper bags and 12 oil burners (left over from my craft fair days). Plus a half drunk bottle of fizzy pop which was randomly sitting in out guest room has gone down the sink and the bottom put in recycling. I'm going to count the bags as one item so my decluttering total stands at 54/2022.
A long way to go but I so want to do this and get my house back on track

Energy shifter I know exactly what you mean about “stuff “. I have mentioned before that I had to tidy the office desk before I started my shift at an old job in a children’s home. I have been paralysed for weeks with the contents of the big shed in the sitting room. They have gone now so it has freed up some brain space.Oh dear Floss These things are horrible. I hope things improve soon. X
This morning we put up a trellis in the garden. Much more difficult than it needed to be. But it’s up now.I have not slept properly for a week. No idea why I wake every day at 4am. Consequently I feel like I have not achieved much recently. Bag of plastic to super market, garden table and 2 bookcases given away on fb.The answer to maintenance is not to bring stuff in. Saying that I have just bought 6 strawberry plants 1/2 price. Most of the ones I brought from the last house gave up the ghost. I also bought new mugs. I will have a cull when I get home. I like them to match.Love to all Vx:9 -
Haven’t been round to mums today was having a day off ( I’m about to start an additional job role this coming week) but my own house had some TLC
Hoovered and washed floors. Polished. Have mums TV so tuned that in. Cleaned bathrooms. Sorted out piles of clean washing and did some ironing…only iron linen shirts and pillowcases 😆 and put mine away. Then we went to the cinema to see Elvis. Which I really enjoyed but was a tad too long. 2 hours 40 minutes is ridiculously long for a film I think! Had a chippy tea so no cooking tonight.8 -
Hello all, yesterday I found I had some energy so I spent most of the day cleaning the lounge from the ceiling to floor and everything in between, then the kitchen and the dining room. During my cleaning spree I decluttered a new dog pull toy, now in the cs bag ( it was for DD's dog but he's far to lazy to play with it 😂) an empty bottle of Bailey's, there was only a mouthful left in it anyway, 2 cardboard boxes from Am*zon deliveries, 5 booklets relating to items no longer used, all have now been recycled. A box of tree stump killer re-located to the shed, I have no idea why that was left in the dining room and an old computer CD for an anti-virus from 2008. Also gone into the shredding pile several bank statements and 6x2 repeat prescriptions as we re-order ours via the pharmacy. I relocated a large photo frame upstairs as I want to swap all my wall photos around and I've washed 2 commemorative glass goblets from my welsh dresser, but now I don't know what to do with them except I don't want to put them back. I don't think they're worth much but I may be wrong, so I'll have a look on the internet. I don't want DD to be lumbered with more than necessary when my time comes.
We brought the wii fit (not used for about 4 years) down to the lounge, as we're both dieting and need to get some exercise. I was shocked to learn that the first fitness test I did on there thinks my fitness age is 8 years older than my real one 😱 I know some days I feel old, but there's no need to rub it in 🤣 DH got off lighter as he was only deemed to be 3 years older than in RL ! Today I'm back to "too tired to get out of my own way" so I've been having a quiet day doing another jigsaw, it's very seasonal and called "Christmas Eve " 🎄 😂
Hugs to anyone having a difficult time and healing vibes to the poorly ones.
MrsSD zip line ? sign me up for that, not ! Hope you can get all the online form filling in sorted.
Floss special hugs for you.
Take care all
