@mahgsterIn the airing cupboard I found a big fleecy throw that was usually on mums bed. It’s smelled nicely of her. Was like getting a wee bonus hug…the irony though that she was not a huggy person at all. So I’ve brought that home with me.
this ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ made me happy how lovely 😊Focus on contribution instead of the impressiveness of consumption to see the true beauty in people.11 -
Liverpool Anne wasn’t my auntie was my sister ( so DD2 said Auntie ) they’d stayed the first week and I think just cleared what was in mums room at the time ( to get into bed) and put it in the recently emptied ( by me and my auntie) airing cupboard. Most of the towels went to various animal rescue places and duvet sets etc to charity. So I just assumed it was all still emptied. Then I was querying where a wooden box had gone and DD2 said it’s in the airing cupboard ( which is quite a big space) and she said her auntie had put stuff in there.Anyway it’s all sorted and I got a nice fleecy blanket ( king size) that will keep me warm in winter ( or summer by the looks of our recent weather 😆)
And I’ve slept well which is a huge thing for me as I usually don’t and certainly haven’t in the last few weeks.Onwards 😬
Hope everyone has a nice day.12 -
TC77 said:@Floss thank you for the description of APD. I think I may have it as struggle when several conversations going on with a group of friends. I know it's a spectrum , DD2 has dyslexia as well but only picked up aged nearly 15 so has coping strategies.2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

You are doing so well mhagster. It must be such a challenging thing to do. X
So I have the sitting room back. Mr V’s giant shed has arrived. MUCH bigger than I imagined. I will paint it black and grow clematis up it.My builders are so lovely. They do anything I ask even when I change my mind!!! They incorporated the grave stones on the steps but in hindsight it isn’t right. My neighbour tells me the people were residents on the road. I will put the stones on the top garden, yet to be made. The people are not buried here, just memorial stones.Mr V is working night and day and will be away until Saturday 😢 I intend to use my time cleaning the house. Something I haven’t done much of lately. I have plenty of shed painting I could do if the mood takes me. Better press on.Love to all. Vx:10 -
Thank you for the conversations re APD as I too have difficulty understanding instructions or concentrating on my own conversation when there is a lot of chatting going on around me. Maybe I'm not just thick after all !

Once that shed is sorted you can clear the house @vulpix. I expect you can't wait.
A busy day with granny duties and decluttering the front garden of some weeds and brambles today. Out tonight.
Yesterday DH reoiled the kitchen work tops. They look so much better but are not ready for appliances or use yet. I hope to return those to the kitchen tomorrow. After that I am going to give the through lounge a darned good clean and declutter.
Nothing else going on in the house but working up to starting the 'craft' room which is currently the room of doom.
Take care all.

I went and organised my shoes and boots yesterday. I just did some rearranging and so didn't really declutter much apart from the box that my heated blanket came in went in the recycling. I am offloading a mirror to a chazzer today.:)9

So far today ( may or may not go back later, I’ve work to do!)
Doggy and I went round and rather than take him back to then double back to tip I did a small tip run.
Two bags of rubbish. 2 pillows. One cushion. 2 TVs. Some more hard plastic and another bag of small electrical waste.More stuff in charity boxes ( hopefully drop off tomorrow) and a whole load of plastic/paper recycling done. And a box of blooming photos to peruse at home!I think the doggy and I did quite well!Editing to say 37 packs of someone’s holiday photos gone through! Sigh! I’m procrastinating…I’ve an afternoon of planning and grass cutting to do ! Anyway about 2 packs worth kept ( photos of my kids when wee) and the other 35 binned/paper packs recycled!9 -
My wife just cleared out an old rug and some carpet we took up when we had flooring put down and some cardboard.Downstairs hall is much tidier, just leaves the cardboard box from a pet food delivery. We haven't had the heart to throw it away yet as our elder 2 cats like sitting in it still as it arrived the day we had their big sister pts and they use it to hide from our rescue cat when they want some peace. On a cheerier note, we now have frames to put up nearly all the pictures we have.Stay safe everyone.May you find your sister soon Helli.
Sleep well.12
