@Floss have you done visible mending before? I'm wondering if the any of the needles I have will be up to the job or if I should buy a special needle. I remember patching denim decades ago and what hard work it was getting the needle through 2 layers of denim. I've got arthriticy paws now too.
Pink cord sounds perfect for a patch.

I haven’t posted in ages life and work took over but I’ve kept on the decluttering train. Lovely to see people doing so well m. Most rooms better and clear. I have only clothes and my frog of a spare room. The small frogs that are admin and sorting out pensions hop around daily. Cleaning I’ve finally found a brilliant cleaner and I managing to pay for her by eating less so I’m losing weight, it’s a win win. The stress of having someone to clean makes me tidy and throw away. Next week I’m going to tackle the spare room.DF by 2023 No 17 £1,644 /£6000 Total debt £18,000 at the start of DFW Journey. 201814TH JULY 2021 DEBT FREE now in control365 1p challenge No 4912

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 3 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedBack again finally 🙂 I went to MrA & did a medium sized shop. Even though Covid is on the rise I was still about the only person wearing a mask on the bus & in the sm 😔 Everything packed away. DSis had a special fried rice pouch with a couple of rashers of bacon, I had cheesy beans on toast & when DH returned home 8 hours after leaving, I made him a bacon sarnie. He is now in bed & fast asleep 😉 but did have a good time catching up with the very few colleagues left at the company. Wudupa.

Excellent decluttering bit_by_bit 👏 & building up your savings pot 🙂
Excellent decluttering Wildrose 👏 and what a testament “waking up looking forward to tackling the mess” ☺️ Hope you are able to post a picture of your Sashiko mending when it is done 🙏

Thank you for my medal @Mrs SD. It is hard to concentrate on what I want and need to do with RL domestic going on around me. Think things will get unpleasant in coming weeks - I am focusing on DGCs and not taking sides. @Wildrose I still have one baby blanket given to me by my nan, to whom I was very close, when DS1 was born just over 50 years ago. It is in my bedside drawer - a tartan pram blanket - I have pictures of all the children in the old fashioned pram with it or lying on the grass.
951 CC bill fully paid - shouldn't be one next month but several household expenses recently eg washing machine. I rarely use it except for things like holidays and furniture where you pay up front before things received. Not much in the way of holidays for several years of course.
952 Banking done and outlay for rest of the year checked. No more spam texts this week thankfully but keeping close eye on accounts. DD had some of the same texts so it is not me being got at personally. Managed to add small amount to savings.
953 Bag of clothes dropped off at CS. Already counted individually.
954 Cards posted and more purchased for July.
Beef in beer in slow cooker so I shall get drunk on fumes all day. Steady rain so hopefully the grass seed may start to germinate in patches on front lawn. I will try to go out somewhere later once some frogs dealt with. Too much time to think if sitting around the house.2025 Decluttering Campaign 682/2025 🏅🏅🏅🏅(🏅🏅) 🌟🌟

No decluttering yesterday as I went for a long walk with my daughters husbands parents. (Are they my in-laws too?)
This morning I have put batteries in the remote control for the very old TV in my sons room..it still doesn’t work so to the dumps electrical recycling it will go tomorrow. Found a small pocket radio and checked it worked. That is ready to go to the helpful old boy at the dump when I take the TV tomorrow. Someone is coming to collect the tent at the full £150 at 11.00am so if they turn up that will be a good result for today I think. I am tempted to try and get a few more camping bits down from the loft in the garage and see if they want them as well!
First I have to take the dogs to the groomer. Vet wanted to see diva dog yesterday but miraculously I managed to hand feed her that evening. It was an emergency sit and wait appointment. (I know my vet extremely well socially as well as a client) so I didn’t take her as we have an appointment tomorrow anyway. She has started eating again but getting the pills down her is another matter🤦♀️ She is allowed the haircut but not to sit in the drying machine and the groomers are happy with this. Her claws urgently need cutting as they grow very long very quickly.
Going for another walk this afternoon with a friend. If I have anymore time I will try and get a few more bits for the dump tomorrow.
Happy decluttering everyoneEnough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D9 -
For today…so far…two bags of rubbish in mums bin, it’s nearly full ( emptied every 3 weeks) More plastic and paper in recycling bin ( thankfully emptied weekly)
And as I had the dog with me a pile of stuff in the hallway to go to tip at midday. Pillows, cardboard, small electricals, another blooming broken hoover, 3 bags of general rubbish.Slightly growling this morning. I’d cleared the airing cupboard day after mum died so 5 weeks ago. Was asking DD2 where such and such was oh auntie put it in the airing cupboard! Looked this morning and filled with stuff! However now have three empty sets of drawers in room of doom. Still 2 wardrobes and stuff on floor to do!Anyway I’m home to hang out my washing in the brief respite between showers then head back round to fill up my little car!8 -
There are 3 washmitts and 2 pillow cases on their last leg, so they are in constant circulation to wear them down faster so that I can throw them in the recycling....

DS has headed off to see his Dad for a week in Spain - so I'm home alone f. it feels a bit odd but I know it'd do us both good & I'm already seeing the benefits as I've been able to reclaim my old office for a week !
721. Black bin – old fireplace from garden
722 Old terracotta pot – broken
723. Loads & Loads of shredding

I took myself out for the morning to English Heritage house about 40 miles away. had a cream tea for brunch, walked round their stunning gardens and did a quick house tour chatting to various people. Rain held off and sun came out so it was starting to get busier when I left at lunchtime.

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWednesday has been a very dull overcast day with some rain & occasionally so dark that I had to turn on the lr lights ☹️ My ‘To Do’ list is massively long & I am currently in ‘Avoidance Mode’ So I decided to go through the decluttering thread & check my paper list for discrepancies 😉 My paper list (recording what page each person joined & any medals or stars awarded) is now up to date. I found one HUGE discrepancy & owe a very contrite apology to Deni_debt-free_dreamer
The tale starts on page 267 when I challenged Ddfd to delete 2,000 emails by the end of the year & would award a medal. Completely forgot the challenge & missed the mentions of email decluttering on p276 & p279 - reducing from 25k+ to under 20k. So rather than a medal, I am awarding Deni_debt-free_dreamer TWO Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ - Congratulations 🥳
So I can justify my decluttering avoidance 🤣 but have no excuses now 😔 but might as well continue the cheerleading 😉
You are most welcome GrannyKate 🙂 Sorry to hear about the potential family unpleasantness ☹️ but hopefully focusing on the DGCs & not taking sides might calm the situation slightly 🤞 What lovely memories associated with the baby blanket ☺️ Excellent work on dealing with financial decluttering 👏 Like you I pay my one & only cc bill in full each month but usually prefer using cash 😉 Good luck with the frogs 🍀
teachergirl, you piqued my interest re the question of who counts as ‘in-law’, so I looked it up & yes they are ‘in-laws’ 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 So very pleased for you that the tent has sold at full asking price 🙂 & would be a nice touch to give the purchaser the chance to acquire a few more bits of camping gear 😉 👏 Enjoy your time at the dog groomers 😉
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 Surely it should be the other way around re the bin emptying 🤔 Three weeks is a long time to have potentially smelly rubbish hanging around 🤢 As to the refilled airing cupboard - not sure I would just be growling 😉 Perhaps once emptied again you can put a padlock on 😅
Good luck Siebrie 🍀
Oh poop EnergyShifter 😔 Fancy getting food poisoning on your staycation ☹️ but pleased to hear you are recovering 🙂 As to reclaiming your office - padlock for when DS gets back 😉😂Sounds like a lovely morning GrannyKate ☺️ A nice reward for all your decluttering successes 👏MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟
