Hi.
Queen Jess, I don’t think I have ever seen a yellow orchid. Perhaps they are expensive because they are uncommon. I love an orchid. Good value for a long flowering time.Liverpool Anne , your descriptions are spot on of the quilting. The Sashiko quilt is a mustard colour and I think I will decorate in black. Not decided on pattern yet, I do favour circles though. Hmm just remembered I made a circle one years ago for my Mum. The log cabin will be strips sewn together. The fabric is multi colour floral. Rich colours with a small print. Think Liberty fabric. I have only ever made cushions before so this one will take months. I don’t know what to do with myself if I don’t have a project on the go.I managed to haul some big pots round the back last night. Planted up strawberries, rhubarb and kiwi in the bed which gets the most sun. Very proud of the kiwis, I propergated them from an Aldi kiwi. I am waiting for a delivery of a ton of top soil now to fill the other raised bed. That will be a white garden. The lads are here this morning. Cracking on with laying the reclaimed Staffordshire blue stable bricks. The gable end gets no sun so the stable bricks will be much less slippery than the old stone slabs. Another month and we could be finished outside. I did say yesterday that this work is costing nearly as much as the house did 10 years ago! I think it is an investment though. The house may earn its keep yet as a holiday cottage.Vx:7 -
I once had a thick creamy yellow orchid (think a nice ‘real’ custard) given to me as a present from M&S. sadly this was during my orchid killer years and it didn’t survive.✒️ Declutter 2025👗 Fashion on the Ration 2025 61/66 coupons (5 coupons silver boots)✒️Declutter 2024 🏅🏅🏅(DSis 🏅🏅)

Didn’t get anything done at mums yesterday. Woke up dizzy with labyrinthitis ( which is usually my body’s delayed reaction to stress) so any plans were out the window as I’m always worst the first day and just need to be quiet and still if I can .However 2 sets of things were picked up from my recycling bin ( I usually pop them there to save having to interact 😀) 2 absolutely random things that were not sellable nor charity shop donatable but too good to go out!And the second set of drawers was painted and literally squeezed in to the space reserved for them. So that end of my bedroom looks splendid…the other end not so much 😀6

Edit: looks like M&S online have them for £20, which is a vast improvement!2025 decluttering: 2,369🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅

@vulpix…. I no longer kill them. 🤣 I currently have one that has 3 flower spikes in various stages of flowering.I rehoused one given to me as a present. It was most prolific and had 22 flowers in bloom at one point and grew 4 babies! It was a most peculiar colour which seemed rather fleshy and I really couldn’t live with it any longer. 1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSecond attempt 🤞Saturday started sunny & bright, clouded over & now back to sunny & bright. Whilst I was writing the long post that I just lost, DH & DSis have dismantled her old bed & put together her new bed + tidied up after themselves 🤩 So here goes again!
Of course you can join us teachergirl - no one is ever late to the decluttering party 🙂 so welcome aboard the EDT aka Electric Powered Decluttering Train 👋 My condolences on the loss of your husband. As to him being a hoarder, I like to think that people are ‘collectors’ - it is just that some people ‘collect’ more than others 😉 You have already made an excellent start 👏 and now that you have found us you will have plenty of ‘virtual’ assistance & support + practical ideas to aid you in your decluttering journey 🙂 Many of us are fans of the ‘timer & reward method’ of decluttering - concentrates the mind & keeps the motivation to declutter high 🙂
Great suggestions QueenJess 👏
You are becoming a seasoned declutterer already teachergirl 🙂 Keep up the good work 👏
Thank you so much for your very kind post pollyanna_26 - it has made my year☺️ I do occasionally worry that the MSE moderators might have an issue with my long posts but Old Style seems to be a bit more lenient in their attitude to going ‘slightly’ off topic 😉 I do read other threads & have seen your posts. Your grace & courage in the face of your health issues shines through. I do so hope that a more permanent & less invasive solution can be found to manage the pain you are currently experiencing from the rotator cuff tears.
florianatwobob, Thanks for the information re disposing of old mobiles & glasses 👏 There are worse addictions to have than storage boxes 😉
weenancy, we have been extremely lucky over the years - no lost or delayed luggage so I suppose we were due 😉 Not sure I could manage with just a rucksack 🙂 but DH & I do both need to reconsider our packing strategy as we always pack way too much 😔
Sounds like your husband was also a ‘collector’ mhagster 😉 Pleased to see your persistence is finally paying off - just remember it almost certainly took more than 5 years to build up the clutter so you are doing really well 👏 Not quite sure ‘cheeky’ is quite the word 😉
Sorry to hear that RL is being so demanding TC77 ☹️ but what a great idea to create a Master List of things to do 👏 Great decluttering regardless of feeling overwhelmed 👏
Thanks for the information re Mens Shed, -taff 👏 Useful for me when I try to persuade DH to thin out his tool collection which is full of duplicates 😉
You have made me smile basketcase 😃 Excellent decluttering especially the bag of manure 👏😉
Pleased to hear that you had a good time with the DGCs, GrannyKate 🙂 Now that is what I call dedicated decluttering 👏
🤩 teachergirl - excellent decluttering 👏 You should feel virtuous - usually when it rains I just slob about 😉
Floss a timely reminder for us all 👏 & so bears copying over “Can I just remind everyone that whoever small their action, it all counts in the end? Every small action will add up to be part of a bigger one, and eventually an area / room / garden / attic / garage / shed will be clear of unwanted "stuff".
Excellent division of labour Siebrie 👏 but on balance I think you & DDs have the tougher job 😉 Great decluttering & it sounds like DH is on the mend 🙂 Hope his mum is getting better 🤞
See you later 👋

One of our cities has a sign up about feeding the birds, asking not to feed them bread because it molds and spoils their water. Instead it recommended cut seedless grapes, cooked rice, birdseed, peas, corn, oats, and chopped lettuce.

Not much achieved today, but am happy I've done something. Did more bedroom stuff - so jewellery and make up. Haven't worn make up for so long that I need to get rid of what I have really. Going to get a bit more; very minimal as I'm not a big make up person, but would be nice to look slightly less awful and make myself feel a bit better.Anyway, decluttering for today:2300 - a broach I've never worn2301-2302 - necklaces I never wear2303 - mascara2304 - text conversation deleted2305 - child coat (now too small)2306 - 2335 - emails permanently deleted2025 decluttering: 2,369🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅
