Hi all, herbs, spices and cake stuff sorted. I have used the bottom of some q street plastic tubs that OH had saved to put the cakes in, put the cake on the lid and the base covers them, but we have quite a few plus various tins so won't be missed. Win win as I have repurposed some plastic and OH s stash is reduced
@Siebrie, those plastic ridge things in washing machines are a pain. My washing machine repair man told me they are the most common thing he has to repair. He said it happens when something hard hits them during the wash, a piece of metal trim or a coin left in a pocket for example. He advised buying a machine with metal bits if you can when replacing your machine. Also the broken edge left in the machine can cause clothes to be ripped so be careful, maybe put stuff in a wash bag or an old pillow case until you can get it fixed.
Well the sun is out and I have a load of washing done waiting to go on the line.
Take care everyone7 -

I'm also a PA by profession and love a well-organised home office, but husband is not. He by default inserts the U-folders upside down in the lever arch files, so that everything falls out when you take the file from the shelf. 15 years of explaining and nagging, and he still doesn't get it (it's not ill will, he genuinely doesn't grasp it). He also thinks his brain is the perfect place to store all passwords, etc. No notes anywhere. And he thinks that the best place to store heavy items is right in front of the home office shelf, so that I can't access any folders (and we all know that the best way to make sure that paperwork is filed properly is easy access to the proper folders). There came a point where I just gave up.

So much going on.
I'm for paper which I keep in folders all organised although could do with thinning, used to do regularly but emails all chaotic with little if any system. Have a folder saying receipts some are in there but not all.
Hoping to get back to physical declutter. Appts made for dd1 accident claim x 2 over next couple of months, dd2 lost a retainer and dentist at appt suggested going elsewhere so another appt made. Lots of hassles but trying to get walks in and off to acupuncture, meant to help with jaw pain - hoping to declutter stress7 -
Hi, good to have you back at the helm Mrs SD.I have no clue how many emails I have. Locked myself out of most things on my laptop 6 months ago. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣life goes on.I had a sort out of craft boxes yesterday. I was looking for a half made cross stitch card. No joy but recklessly threw away a broken beaded napkin ring, an old diary that I recorded knitting rows in and something else that I can’t even remember what it was. I have finished all my charity knitting. No wool left at all. I want to make a hand sewn quilt. I have fabric for 2. Both charity shop sheets. One will be plain material and Sashiko patterns, the other 70’s print log cabin.
I am a little house bound and getting a little fed up with having builders dust n grime. The contents of the big shed are still in the sitting room. Another 2 weeks and the side of the house will be finished and we can then empty the 2 sheds in the front garden and move and refill. That leaves building some stone steps,a small raised bed and a little patio, removing a fence and digging a tree out. Then the bit I like, planting a garden.I will peg some washing out now then plant up a hanging basket for the back of the house.Love to read all your news.Vx:7 -
Hello all
MrsSD, good to have you back and thanks for my two starsthey nearly make the decluttering worthwhile!
I prefer paperwork to digital clutter, I know where I am with paperwork and can find things much quicker. I try to print out email receipts but sometimes forget...
I'm still working on getting emails down to a reasonable number, it might take me some time. I've sorted one frog today and progressed another, so I'm happy with that. My DH has started decluttering his laptop of old documents, fingers crossed he carries on with this. Maybe some day he will start on the garage (his workshop), I'd like to take a skip to the lot.....1024. 200 emails deleted
1025. Junk mail recycled
1026. Documents deleted from PC
1027. Frog finished
1028. Another frog progressed
1029. Cardboard packaging recycled
1030. Receipts shredded
My office is starting to look a bit clearer at last, still some way to go though.....
Have a good weekend everyone.

Back again. I like to make a point of positives in my life as I so easily brush them off and hang on to negatives. My hairdresser of 30 years has just done a home visit. Remember the massive oak tree that sadly had to be cut down because it was dangerous? Hairdressers husband took some of the wood. She brought me a lovely hand turned platter he made. Just lovely.
