Morning Peeps,
Here's hoping that I press the post button this morning and not 12 hours later.
Made a start on the big (4 doubles) FF wardrobe yesterday. Got the small wooden set of drawers out that 1 drawer had been emptied of UU old soaps. The other drawers have items for recycling some pennies so my aim is to get them pictured and uploaded. Only 1 item went into a bag up for Car boot or CS. Moved some hung up clothes into the finished bedroom wardrobe. Lot smaller double room (This is a 2 bed bungalow) therefore smaller fitted wardrobe.
Old t shirt from DH donation was cut up for rags (in the shed).
Collection of used after shave bottles moved to recycle bin. DH found that 2 had enough squirts in to properly empty. Clearly having an impactSo back to the wardrobe for now.
This afternoon will be up in the loft as the rule is items have to come out before going in. This will be a task and a half!!
2 Scratters xx

On the declutter journey since 2023 with Mrs SD. Tilly Tidy since 2023.5 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedSorry I didn’t get back on Wednesday 😔 Everything got totally dry on the whirligig yesterday. The largest pile of clothing is folded & ready to put away; the mending pile only has 4 items in it 🙂 but one will need ironing ☹️; the ironing pile currently has 5 items ☹️ Back to cooking duties - pork steaks, mash & peas 😋 and yes I did do the wudupa before I went to bed 😉
Thursday is a very dull & overcast day but no rain ….. yet. DH has been busy - he filled the bird & squirrel feeders; strimmed the back garden & gave the back garden hedge a haircut. He also made up a coir block for the wormeries. DSis’s 3rd & final postcard arrived this morning.883 - 884 Kitchen detritus & recycling
Back to cheerleading which I will hopefully be caught up with by the end of the week 🤞🤞
Welcome aboard The EDT, DuranGirl 👋 Every journey begins with one step & you have taken TWO 👏 You have found the decluttering thread & you have decluttered your first item 🙂 Well done - you are now officially a member of the decluttering family👏 Please let us know if you need any ideas/suggestions as to how to continue your decluttering journey 🙂
So pleased to hear you are enjoying the ride along GrannyKate 🙂 Great work decluttering so many frogs 👏
Excellent work QueenJess - not only physical & digital decluttering but also planning next week AND down grading the Room of Doom to just a room 👏 One medal 🏅 on its way.
vulpix, it truly was an amazing trip 😊 Sorry to hear that your step son has Covid after avoiding it for 2 years especially being a paramedic 😯 I am not sure ‘mammoth’ is a big enough word for the amount of work you have to do - demolishing/moving sheds, moving/replanting pots & still leaving the builders space to work 😉 Good luck with such a huge project 🍀
oceanspirit, sorry to hear that you have been unable to find a cleaning company but fingers crossed that your new contact will come through 🤞 You & OH have done a grand job & with all the things that you are going to put in place I have every faith that you will be able to concentrate on your health quite soon. Enjoy your weekend 🙂Excellent work on dealing with such large frogs & all in one day, 2Scratters. Both you & DH have earned a Gold Star ⭐️ ⭐️ each 🙂 Sorry to hear that you will be unable to have a holiday for a while ☹️ Perhaps you can carve out the odd day when you can just relax & enjoy each other’s company 🤞
weenancy, we were very lucky with the weather 🍀 Hopefully by the time I fully catch up with the cheerleading you will have dealt with the room of doom 🤞I know it will be difficult but please try not to stress too much about your other roommates 🙏 You already do so much 😇Lovely supportive post bit_by_bit 🙂 So much work done before going on holiday 👏 Hope you have a lovely holiday with plenty of rest & relaxation 😁
Excellent decluttering & frog disposal GrannyKate 👏 Hope you enjoy your time with the DGCs 🙂Great work making progress on frogs TC77 👏 Sounds like a nightmare re DD’s situation - not just one authority to deal with but three 😱 Wishing you strength in resisting the lure of keeping too much of your dad’s stuff 💪 🙂Thanks for the reminder re cleaning fridge weenancy 👏 Hopefully you won’t have to throw away too much 🤞Your EMDR session sounds amazing EnergyShifter - so very pleased that it is working 🙂 yah boo to the non fitting strimmer wire 😖Fizz2015, you would think that after the last 2 years people might have changed for the better but it seems that a lot of them have short memories 😔 Sorry to hear that back pain has added to RL work stresses but sounds like you are on the mend 🙂 Excellent decluttering - worthy of a Gold Star ⭐️ which is on it’s way 🙂 Keep up the good work on your clothing decluttering but do remember to keep some to wear 😉😉Congratulations you have caught the decluttering bug, DuranGirl 🥳 That 1st ‘knob’ has opened the floodgates 👏
Great work short_bird 👏
What a wonderful experience TC77 🙂 I have never been to the Chelsea Flower Show as not sure that DH would be amenable 😔weenancy, helping others again 😇 Black widow spider 😱 Hope the asthma settles down quickly, please take care 🙏
Thanks Floss, glad you are enjoying my posts 👏

Welcome back @Mrs_Salad_Dodger, loved hearing about your holiday and all the photos. Felt like we were with you.
Not much decluttering happening apart from the usual recycling. Work is still mega busy, stressful and threatening to take over RL. Plus a lot of change and people leaving or going on secondment and experiencing delays with recruitment.
Had a nice date day with OH on the bank holidays when our DD went on camp. We went for a meal, watched Top Gun and the lighting of the Beacon, followed by fireworks.
Back pain is much improved by intensive chiropractor treatments so plenty of money decluttered on that. Making a positive difference so will continue as extending the time frame between appointments now.
Have a nice evening all.

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedI decided on chicken & mushroom risotto for dinner but unfortunately couldn’t find any chicken 😔 so just mushroom risotto which I actually prefer 😉 Enough left for risotto cakes tomorrow. The hunt for chicken has highlighted that it is now urgent that I defrost the kitchen freezer 😬 as the ice is now almost stopping me from shutting the door 😔
885 Empty wine bottle recycledExcellent outside decluttering GrannyKate 👏 Enjoy your swim with the little ones 🙂 Ouch to bills coming due 😣
Well done on completing a major frog Liverpool_Anne 👏 Re your endless emails, I think all you can do is keep persevering - eventually you should see a reduction 🤞 My interest in football is almost zero but after reading your post, I read a couple of articles. To my mind the appalling treatment of fans/families etc amounts to criminality. The children especially must have been absolutely terrified. I despair 😞Good work on the digital decluttering florianatwobob 👏Digital decluttering seems to be a bit of a theme 😉 Well done short_bird 👏
Excellent work EnergyShifter 👏 I think I will have to join you “in getting a wiggle on” as I am even further behind 😔weenancy, I think a sainthood should be the least we can offer 😉 You are so generous with your time & assistance to everyone - not just your roommates. Try not to blush but you are an inspiration & example to us all 😊 Yosemite is beautiful & I can understand why your uncle visited so often but 15,000 slides - it will take forever to go through them 😉 Perhaps there is some society/association that would be grateful to receive them? Sadly I did not get to meet your sisters but I think I met the best one 😁 DH’s elbow is finally almost healed & the ribs appear to have only been lightly bruised - one of the benefits of having a bit of padding 😉 Very pleased to hear that you are ‘mainly’ resting your foot 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Remember all the small tidying & decluttering sessions mount up until you have a completely decluttered home 🙂
Well done on the decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hope you enjoyed the parade & that the weather was kind 🤞 What sad news about your OH’s niece 😢 Re the baby blanket may I offer another suggestion - perhaps donate to a maternity unit - apologies as I see Floss already offered the same idea. Hope the rain relented enough for you to get the bench into the car & then to the Tip 🤞
Siebrie, thank you for sharing 👏 A good result re the Ik*a cabinet 😉
Welcome aboard the EDT, Sea78 👋 Never too late to join in 🙂 We are a friendly bunch of people & encouraging each other to declutter is one of the reasons the thread seems to work so well 👏
I have noted your target of 1011 and you have made a great start 👏 Belated birthday wishes to your son 🎉
Great work oceanspirit 👏 One Gold Star ⭐️ on its way 🙂
EnergyShifter, hope you enjoy your DIY retreat 🙂 sounds far less stressful than a flight anywhere with the current airport situation 😉
Great work short_bird especially disposing of the brochure so promptly 👏 I’d have probably kept it for a year or two 🤣
So pleased that you are enjoying the holiday tales, florianatwobob 😊weenancy, 😋 hot fudge sundae 😋 none of that but we really enjoyed our clam chowder in sourdough bread bowl 🤤Sorry to hear your DD is so unwell, QueenJess. Hope she recovers quickly.
Liverpool_Anne, I am one of those strange people who doesn’t mind marmite 🙄 Hopefully you will find a solution to your B9 deficiency 🤞 Hope you are enjoying the photos 🙂
Nice to see you Vascodakarma 👋 What an amazing success story - you have been so very busy 👏 I can see that you have completely shed your previous identity 😉 Such hard work should be rewarded so Four Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ are on their way 🙂 Good luck with the specialist items sales 🍀 I know you can do it 😄 Do you have another trip planned yet or are you waiting until next year when flying becomes easier? 🤞 I seem to remember you wanted to make a 2nd trip to Iceland 🙂The lamb stew in a sourdough bowl sounds delicious bargainbetty 🤤 What a generous gift - so gratifying when you can help a friend & clear some space at the same time 👏
QueenJess, sounds like you are almost done with your physical decluttering 👏 Now you have the unenviable task of inducting the kids & DH into the “World of Decluttering” 😉 Sorry to hear that DD is still so unwell - so exhausting & worrying for you ☹️How very kind marrob 😊 Pleased to hear that your decluttering mojo has returned from its holidays 😉 What an amazing amount of digital decluttering - stupendous 🥳 👏 One Gold Star - on second thoughts make that Two Gold Stars ⭐️ ⭐️ are on their way 🙂Excellent garden decluttering Liverpool_Anne 👏 Do you have a couple of errands that you could do on the way back from the Tip - might give you the extra boost to get shot of the bench & garden waste 😉 Good luck with the ‘big thing in London’ - I am sure OH won’t begrudge you making a weekend of it - I believe you have earned it 😊 and you never know OH might be inspired to do some decluttering 😉🤞😉 Yosemite is well worth a visit & the rooms are a home away from home. Good luck with the savings 🍀 I will let off doing your trip on a motorbike 😉Sorry to hear that RL is stressing you out GrannyKate ☹️ What a pain re the internet 😖 but hopefully DS2 can get it sorted quickly 🤞 Excellent decluttering 👏 Hope the US family enjoyed the wedding even though they returned with more than just memories ☹️ Hopefully it is a mild case for each of them & they are not too unwell 🤞
vulpix, sounds like a logistical nightmare ☹️ just keep in mind the end result which will hopefully make it easier to get through it 🤞 Flying corgis - I love the way children’s minds work - so imaginative 😊 Shame about the laptop but you have done everything you reasonably can to prolong its life 👏 It was such a wonderful holiday & the memories & photos will be a constant source of happiness. What a truly marvellous memory “One of my best memories is sitting in a hot tub on a stary night at the top of cliffs in Santa Barbara with the ocean crashing in below. A skunk came to check me out. I just kept very still whilst it sniffed about.!” It could have been so different 😉😉Practical suggestion Floss 🙂 but QueenJess did make me laugh 😹
Just seen the time so will sign off now but will wudupa before I go to bed 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedDid do the wudupa & now have a 2nd wind - not feeling tired at all. Milkman has been paid + I rejigged garage freezer so I have one empty drawer 👏 Hopefully I can stow the expensive bits from the kitchen freezer whilst I defrost it 🤞
Back to cheerleading- I am determined to catch up 😉
Great work QueenJess 👏 Sad/happy to say ‘decluttering’ becomes ‘Maintenance Decluttering’ Meaning that you must remain vigilant & not let clutter back in 😉 The mantra then becomes ‘One In, One Out’
Sounds interesting wort 🙂 so I looked up Kinetic watches. What will they think of next?EnergyShifter everything crossed that the B12 shot makes a difference 🤞Nice post basketcase 😊
EnergyShifter, think how much harder it would have been if you hadn’t been doing the steps & keeping your weight stable 😉 Yippee - a few pennies towards your UK break 🥳 Hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday weekend 🙂
Excellent work Sea78 👏 You must have been relieved when your son received less than 34 new toys 😉 Re the gardening perhaps count each half hour stint as ‘1’ with bags added e.g. 2 hrs + 1 bag filled = 5Shame you couldn’t load a photo vulpix ☹️ Must admit that several of my holiday photos took several attempts before they downloaded - exceedingly odd 🤔
Thanks for asking TC77 - DH is fine after his Random Gravity Test but still puzzled (although grateful) as to how he managed to avoid his head hitting the ground 🤔 Excellent work at your dad’s house 👏 Re the tools - if they are in good but used condition I think there is a market for them - especially the older ones as they have stood the test of time 🙂 Hopefully the shuffling frogs will pick up speed & hop off completely 🙂 I see you answered your own question re photo albums 😉 useful to know as I have several like that up in the loft 😉Great work in the garden Liverpool_Anne 👏 Hope the neighbour is amenable to filling up her bin 🤞 Creative solution to the leaking hose 👏 hope it is still long enough 🤞 + 2 frogs dealt with - so I would say a very good day 🙂Thanks florianatwobob 👏
Hope you have a lovely holiday with the children & that they are travelling light 🙂 Good luck with the frogs 🍀 & enjoy planning trips with DD as a reward for dealing with frogs 😉 All pictures were taken on DH’s iPhone - 8 I think 🤔 We have been very lucky - a trip of a lifetime indeed 🙂

Thank you for your cheerleading @Mrs_Salad_Dodger! I'm trying to help my elderly parents to pare down their stuff at the same time - my mum needs a cheerleader too, so yesterday she bought a new pair of trousers and I suggested she put out two jackets that are far too big for her now. I said I'd take them to the CS for her and I added 5 items of my own. Just dropped them off- Win!!3-6 month EF Challenge Member #19: £3590/£6000.[/B] Craft destash from 22.5.22: 46/200. We have some medical costs we can submit to the insurance husband has through work (we're in Belgium - it's a complicated system here!), but it's all digital and I cannot find the log-in details! It made me go through 2 A4-boxes in our office, boxes stuffed with supposedly only warranties and instruction manuals. I could throw out about half! And I found paperwork relating to our renovation 11 years ago, the mortgage, bank statements, and a much needed instruction manual to my Ikea sewing machine! But not the log-in details, so I've asked husband to ask his HR department. The insurance company doesn't even have a telephone number I can call....I've dealt with some frogs:- dd1 probably needs glasses, so I've sent an email to the eye doctor for a first appointment (needed for re-imbursed prescription, otherwise we have to pay everything ourselves);- dd1 had a growth on her earlobe that's been removed, she needs a final check and would like to know if she can have that ear pierced again, so I've sent an email to the ear doctor;- the dentist has indicated that both daughters possibly need braces, so I've contacted the orthodontist. I've been put on a waiting list, and am now allowed to call them on 2 May 2023, for an appointment in November 2023!!- our dishwasher stopped working properly. It starts, adds water, removes water, and then stops.... The machine seems fine, the tap is open, there was water coming back up when it was removed, so we spent a fun hour clearing the sewer pipes, and that's working properly again, but the dishwasher still gives the same problem. That's a frog for next week..- our new washing machine has broken down. Literally: a piece of plastic from the ridges in the drum has broken off. I found it when hanging the laundry in the garden. I have looked for the paperwork, but cannot find it, so husband has to dig through his emails to find the details from the online purchase 4 months ago.Am I the only one who finds all these online purchases confusing? I much prefer paperwork in a binder...Are you wombling, too, in '22? € 58,96 = £ 52.09Wombling in Restrictive Times (2021) € 2.138,82 = £ 1,813.15Wombabeluba 2020! € 453,22 = £ 403.842019's wi-wa-wombles € 2.244,20 = £ 1,909.46Wombling to wealth 2018 € 972,97 = £ 879.54Still a womble 2017 #25 € 7.116,68 = £ 6,309.50Wombling Free 2016 #2 € 3.484,31 = £ 3,104.597
