Last week I went to two wellness visits - one with my regular doctor and one with the insurance company's medical center. Managed to pass both with flying colors - A1C way down, and all blood tests fine. This week is making up for it - sprained a finger Tuesday morning trying to wrangle a dog (Husky) in the house, had liquid nitrogen applied in several places but the worst was on the bottom of foot (Tuesday afternoon), sprained a toe on Wednesday, and then sprained calf muscle on Thursday. Using a cane today but moving slowly. One roommate had brought home 8 home testing kits for Covid. Thought we would never have a reason to use them - then found out yesterday that the director of the Family History Center we visit every Thursday had tested positive for Covid on Tuesday. May have a reason to use them yet. We didn't make it to the Center yesterday, because of the muscle sprain, but friend says they are back to wearing masks again. Also didn't go to our regular night at the Family History Center to help last night (one roommate and I go two nights a week) because got a call on Wednesday that the person that night had their key break off in the door and so can't currently get in or out. The local director said they may have to go in through the window as the other door to the room already has a broken key in it! And the only way to remove the door knobs is to dismantle them from inside the room (someone wasn't thinking). So I have been helping people remotely as I can sit at the computer and work. Just have to remember to switch thinking as am helping on US research, English, Mexican, Swedish, and Tongan all on same day. Still decluttering stacks of paper though. Decided that was the easiest thing to attack while sitting down.5

Hi all
Sorry not been able to properly catch up on everyone's news, hope all are ok and hugs where needed or wanted
I've finally stopped taking my CS bags for nice drives and taken them out of my boot and delivered them to the CS - 2 large bags now gone. Today was paper recycling so i got rid of 2 bags of shredded paper .

Just read through everyone’s posts.@Mrs_salad_dodger What is wudupa 🤷🏼♀️ sorry newbie here
Today I was going out for most of the day so needed to knew I wasn’t going to have long to declutter. Decided to try and put my sons Tv on freecycle but could not get it off of standby mode and could not find the remote…so left it as clearly a longer job than anticipated. Had an offcut of carpet still on the landing from when a new carpet was laid two weeks ago. Put it on freecycle and it was collected within half an hour. Took the large bag to charity shop and gave a document folder and a display box to a neighbour. All before 9.30am…felt like a productive mornings work.Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D8 -
1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedFriday dawned bright & sunny but breezy. However since then it has been on & off overcast but no rain as yet 🙂 DH filled the bird & squirrel feeders & sorted out one of the wormeries which had become waterlogged. Only a fairly recent occurrence as only a few worms had drowned ☹️ DSis’s new bed has arrived. So tomorrow we will need to dismantle her old bed which will be difficult as her room is packed with furniture & no room upstairs to store it. Then put together the new bed. Not looking forward to it at all as it will be a real pain 😔 I have been lazy - just clearing down TV programmes from the planner - up from only 25% space to 43% space.Back to cheerleading.
Sorry to hear about your m-i-l, Siebrie ☹️ Hope your DH manages to get well quickly & bring his visit to Africa forward. Sounds like major renovations if you are taking down false ceilings - hope it goes well 🤞 Well done on finding time to declutter 👏
Great work QueenJess 👏 I rather like the idea that the double sheet managed to stay for 7 years 😉 it is the sort of thing I do - keep something in the hope that it will stretch & fit properly 😂
DuranGirl, I like the idea of ‘Project Use It Up, Wear It Out’ but it always seems to take so long 😔Sending all the positive vibes I have that your pop-up event is a roaring success & is the start of your business going from strength to strength 🤞🤞Great work basketcase, you have been very busy 👏 The weather has been so changeable that I do not blame you for keeping winter woolies out of storage & with the massive price rises in the cost of gas & electric it is not as if you can turn on the heating 😔Excellent decluttering sammy_kaye18 👏 At least all the rubbish is out of your home 🙂👏Welcome aboard the EDT mhagster 👋 I really enjoy reading your posts on 5OSP. So sorry to hear about your mum - I think it is always unexpected - your head knows but your heart doesn’t want to😢 I am with you on the ‘taking care & showing respect’ when clearing a parents possessions. It may take more time but to me it makes a world of difference in processing your grief & recalling lovely memories. You seem to be very organised and that should make it a teeny bit easier. As to the stamps & stationery, as there is so much could some of it be donated to a charitable institution of some kind? One thing to bear in mind is that Royal Mail are/will be bar coding their stamps, so old stamps need to be swapped out by 31st January 2023 - I know, more work 😔 You have made a great start 👏
Excellent decluttering QueenJess 👏 Half empty drawers are such a joy 🤩
Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 An eclectic mix of items & how lovely that you were able to give a couple of mementos of your mum to her neighbour 😊 Poor spiders 😉
What a great find DuranGirl 👏
Lovely post Floss 😊 and yes weeding counts as decluttering 👏It was a wonderful adventure florianatwobob 🤩 Well done on decluttering the ironing pile 👏
Probably a combination of both the sunshine & the B12 shot EnergyShifter 🙂 Excellent decluttering 👏 & hope your EMDR session went well 🤞TC77, I like your approach to clearing your dad’s house - interesting items being donated to CS so that someone else can enjoy them & the CS can also benefit. The few CSs I visit all seem to have exactly the same type of items & never anything very interesting 😔 so I rather hope you prevail 😉 You are making great progress 👏 I think if you have the correct cleaning products derusting the tools should be relatively easy although very time consuming. What kind friends 😉
Thanks Floss - WD40 is magic 😉
Very pleased to hear DD is recovering QueenJess 🙂 you might get to catch up on some sleep 🤞
Excellent decluttering 👏 Definitely agree with your assessment - QueenJess Minimalist, MrQJ Clutter Builder 🤣 Re the stamps please see mention of them in my reply to mhagster - I also have a large supply of stamps that I will need to exchange 😔Good luck with the curtains TC77 🍀
You have been busy Liverpool_Anne 👏 What a lovely Thursday afternoon - delicious food & good company 😊 Hope the washing dried - I love the smell of line dried laundry 🙂
stymied, I think ducks eat anything 😉

Been stupidly busy just working all week and so behind on pretty much everything non work related now. I tried to catch up today during work breaks out when waiting for slow reports to run and managed to change all the beds, do two loads of washing and wrap a present for a party DS went to this evening.
This evening I tried to revisit my bedroom and managed to declutter some bits and pieces, packed up two lots of clothes to go back as they are too big and then hit the emails that are out of control (now sneaking in under 300 in the inbox) after doing some speed tidying. I wanted to buy a lovely yellow orchid for my bedroom, but when I found one it was £40! 😱 I was thinking more like £10-15.. since when did they get so expensive?!
Anyway, incredibly slow progress this week… my decluttering efforts were:
2256 - bracelet
2257-2259 - earrings
2260-2299 - permanently deleted emailsI still have not fixed the toilet roll holder. I also need to fix the heated towel rail - it is fine, but the fixings to the wall have broken. DH said we won’t know the manufacturer and no one will sell just the fittings, so I opened my files of paperwork, found the instructions for fitting with the manufacturer and found some online (but need to check the size of them) in under 10 mins… that shut him up 😂. It’s now his job to sort that out and of course he’s done nothing…

Hi all, 4 loads of washing done and mostly line dried though some stuff, the towels from swimming yesterday, still on the line as not quite dry. The trip to London is not happening for me this weekend as there are problems with the trains and a 5 hour trip on the coach was one step too far. I thought about driving but my nephew is currently in Sweden with Guns n Roses so I would have either had to drive back tomorrow or pay for a room somewhere so I decided not to go this time.
I haven't done much decluttering today apart from the usual rubbish but I did make a scrummy rhubarb crumble
@vulpix, those quilts sound interesting. When you say a shashiko pattern do you mean you are going to embroider on the plain sheet in a contrasting colour? If so what pattern are you going to use? The log cabin one, are you going to cut up the sheet and reassemble in the log cabin format or are you quilting the log cabin lines without actually cutting up the sheet? Does that question make sense?
The woodturned platter sounds lovely, I like woodturning a lot and if I had the space I would get a lathe.
@Siebrie you have the patience of a saint. If my OH messed up my files for 15 years I'd have got violent. I much prefer paper to digital though as I don't have a printer at the moment I do have digital files as well but I don't like them

Excellent decluttering mhagster 👏 You should be grateful that it isn’t ‘the naked baby on a rug’ photo that was all the rage 50 - 60 years ago 😉Thank Floss - shame that half our luggage took an extra 32 hours to arrive home safely 😉
weenancy, I did smile at that 🙂 The trials of being the eldest - mums & dads honing their parents in skills 😉
vulpix, I love the idea of you being seduced by the Shetland Islands 😉 You are very welcome for the travel blog & pleased to learn that it revived happy memories for you 🙂 MrV recording as Harry Potter 🤣 Well done on decluttering the pine blanket box 👏 Hope you are treating yourself with the proceeds 🙂 Shame there is no photo ☹️ I was rather looking forward to seeing MrV under the stairs 😉 oh no, you were trying to send a pic of the shed 😉😉QueenJess, sounds like your bedroom is also your plant nursery - so I wouldn’t worry about the time it is taking 🙂 What an excellent decluttering session without the kids 👏 I agree with you that there are too many choices of lampshades - we ended up buying 2 for our bedroom - one looked weird but to our great surprise the other was perfect 🙂 DH & I have no eye for aesthetics when it comes to decorating or our clothes for that matter 🤣Night night everyoneMrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

@Floss so good at recommendations for us all.
@QueenJess just checked one of my 2 emails accounts 1938 emails! I try and keep under 1000 but reading how people manage their systems I think I need a major overhaul along with the rest of my life
No room at the moment is restful although bedroom relatively so, just put a couple of things on free site hoping for pick ups. Need shelf space but know I will get some from my dad's (but not for a few months) trying to manage. Found 2 token for s/m trolley and will put in the car!, Old paint charts and tester sheets out. Put some files and other things on floor onto spaces on shelves. Realised I have the wrong paint for project delivered to me but have to take back - hope to do this and hang curtains that were washed - look an improvement, fingers crossed not shrunk, direct debit cancelled and couple of email frogs, carpet samples out 9128 -
@TC77 but I have spent a long time (years?) unsubscribing from everything possible, so these are now generally important emails I need to read or do something about! If I don’t keep on top of them, I’ll miss some important school or nursery event for the kids. Maybe I should check if I can unsubscribe to even more..
Anyway, my method is to delete or file an email once I’ve dealt with it. It means anything in the inbox really is a to do list.2025 decluttering: 2,369🌟🥉🌟💐🏅🏅🌟🥈🏅🌟🏅💐💎🌟🏅
