2476-2478: rubbish and paper recycling out to the bins.
2479-2505: items to bin and recycling, had a bit of a sort out and clean up on one of the kitchen work surfaces...
Congratulations on the luggage arrival, it's ages since I went anywhere with anything other than a bag that goes under a seat!‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

1. Write a daily To Do list - only 5 tasks
2. Deal with Old Frogs & potential frogs ASAP but at least one on FROG Fridays.
3. Reduce/Restrict time watching TV and playing AB2 during daylight hours 😉
4. Continue to keep kitchen clean & tidy - before going to bedWednesday started a bit dull & overcast but the sun has burnt through the clouds & the breeze has blown them away 🙂 Yesterday’s washing is now back out on the whirligig 👏 DH has given the front hedges haircut & has now gone to sm with a smallish list 😉 Once everything is dry I need to sort into a pile of clothing for minor repairs, pile to be folded & put away & a pile for ironing ☹️ I will continue to sort out the messiness from unpacking all the holiday luggage which is quite a bit less than it was + finish dealing with holiday post. DSis has received the 2nd of the 3 postcards I sent her 🙂 DH is back from sm & have put all the shopping away (including rotating stock) + updated cupboard contents lists.
877 - 880 Two magazines, 0.5” paperwork, cardboard packaging - recycled
881 - 882 Two inches of shredding binnedLovely supportive post TC77 🙂 Remember decluttering frogs is a major part of decluttering 👏Sending get well wishes to both you & DD1.
-taff, poor friend ☹️Great work EnergyShifter 👏 Have you started up your shed demolition business yet 😉 The helicopter ride really was amazing 🤩
QueenJess, what a great post - I totally agree with your assessment of tidying/organising and decluttering going hand in hand 👏 I was rather pleased that sorting holiday bits & pieces led to me rearranging 2 drawers in my wall unit 😄 It was the perfect type of holiday - I really managed to keep up with mantra no.3 🤣 Excellent decluttering 👏 & a good idea to sort digital decluttering a bit at a time each day 👏Thanks GrannyKate 🙂 Great decluttering 👏Thank you bit_by_bit 😊 Great decluttering & forward planning re your garden 👏 Canada is so beautiful & you must be getting excited 😆 - I take it you are not travelling around on a motorbike 🙃TC77 the holiday was exciting but also tiring 😉 Excellent work especially dealing with frogs & persuading DD2 to assist with the shopping 👏Excellent work QueenJess 👏 Your talk of boxing up stuff from your charity pile has reminded me that whilst we we were away, DSis went through all her clothes & there is black bin liner full of clothes as well as a bag for life 😬Excellent digital decluttering weenancyinAmerica 👏 How on earth can anyone accumulate 17,500 emails 😬 😱 - I hope that is several years worth! Not sure I would go nuts - I think I would probably just pull the plug 😉 Well done on starting to reduce your book collection 👏 Do you get snow in LA? That might be the time when your roommates start cleaning up their messes 🙃 as it doesn’t seem to enter their minds to follow your example 😉florianatwobob, little & often 😉😉
Well done on participating in the ‘plastic count’ 2Scratters 👏 Just thinking about the amount of plastic we bring into our home is giving me the heebie jeebies 😬 but I think your idea to declutter before things come into your house is a great one 🙂 I need to follow your example & shop from my own stores 😉 - a fine balance in current times as the price of food continues to rise 😔 I feel for your DH - he probably starts off with good intentions e.g. putting tools away once he has finished using them but gets so caught up in the project that he decides to do it later & later never comes 😉 The only reason I know that is because my DH is exactly the same 😉🙂 Hopefully the prospect of watching the TT will give your DH an incentive to work hard & speedily re the great shed/workshop tidy up 🤞
Please don’t be so hard on yourself TC77 🙏 As long as you are are doing something each day you doing well especially if you are dealing with frogs 👏 Fingers crossed that you managed to make a huge dent in sorting out your dad’s house 🤞
Well done on participating in the ‘plastic count’ bit_by_bit 👏 I agree it is definitely tough trying to reduce plastic - the sms seem to be rather lax in their attitudes to plastic wrapping etc ☹️ Sounds like you have everything in hand before you start your holiday in Canada - wishing you a lovely holiday 😊
Liverpool_Anne, of the many highlights of our holiday I think we both enjoyed meeting up with weenancy the most 🙂 Nice to see you 👋 You have been very busy since you last posted 🙂 Pleased to hear that OH’s nephew was well looked after & that he appears to have recovered well 👏 Great work starting on the garden 👏 What a lovely memento 😊 & what a bonus re the logs 🥳
florianatwobob good luck with searching out items for the new ‘Second Hand Room’ 🍀
Good work short_bird 👏
Very impressed 2Scratters - from the description in your previous post the shed/workshop clear out was definitely a huge frog 👏 So impressed in fact that I am awarding you a Gold Star ⭐️
😲 a new toy EnergyShifter & a really good one at that 👏 I have axe envy 😉 & now once your shed is completely disposed of you have the tools you need to start up your new business 😉😉 As to only pottering for 30 minutes before you found your passport, I would say that is a testament to how successfully you have decluttered 👏
short_bird, I just investigated when it changed - December 1995. DH & I went in January/February 1993. Great decluttering 👏
Glad you are enjoying the travelogue & pictures, Deni_debt-free_dreamer 🙂 Good work on the decluttering 👏 As to the email backlog - how about a mini challenge - if you can reduce the number by 2,000 by the end of the year I will award you a medal 🙂 but if you you can reduce by 5,000 you will earn a gold star 😉
bit_by_bit, you are definitely getting organised before your Canada trip 👏 I think 3 weeks for the varnish to set will be perfect 👍
Glad you enjoyed the holiday tales, EnergyShifter 🙂
Back later to continue cheerleading 😉MrsSD 🏅🏅🏅🏅 🌟 ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️I AM A STAR 🌟

Today I painted a chest of drawers from mums that took me two days to empty but half an hour to paint! There’s a matching set but I’m nowhere near that room yet! So they’ll have to wait!
Anyway they look much better and I needed drawers and was using up paint I’d leftover from another job so hasn’t cost me anything.7 -
Morning Peeps,
I'll need to get a wobble on as plans have been submitted for our kitchen extension which will run off the back bedroom (we are a bungalow) and there is a fully fitted wardrobe floor to ceiling FULL. Now where I'm going to move a fraction of this content is to/will be a challenge as it will not be able to go back in either as it wont exist and will not be anything to do with "kitchen stuff". This is going to take some planning. Really need to recycle some money too to help with the update ahead of us. Need to make good use of The bay shopping.
2Scratters xx

Again no physical declutter, but making use of my master frog list. 2 frogs done
labelled some of the photos, but realise that with work and RL even one thing started is moving forward!

Hi all, well yesterday I failed miserably on my list but I did take my old garden bench to the tip. I filled the car to make it worth the trip,
, a few pieces of offcut laminate floor an old bike carrier, a rusted hacksaw handle, a radiator knob and a big bag of garden waste. As I still had some room I also took some of my lovely neighbour's broken plastic storage container that got damaged months ago when we had some high winds. Her daughter had broken it down and stacked it down the side of her house promising her OH would come and take it away but it hasn't happened yet and whenever we get a wind it ends up being blown around. I couldn't fit it all in but will try to get it in another day. When I got back I got totally distracted by the builders from next door but one who were explaining where the RSJ was going to be fitted, they are having a loft conversion. I was just being nosy but they were great and offered to teach me how to lay bricks
. So then it was coffee o'clock with lovely neighbour and then a light tea before swimming. By the time I got home I I was knackered.
Today I have tried to catch up and got 2 loads of washing on the line after the rain cleared but despite the forecast that it was gone the monsoon hit and by the time I realised and ran out to get it in it was soaked and so was I. I just grabbed the swimming costumes as we are planning on going again tomorrow but I got soaked to the skin and had to completely change so the wash basket is well on the way to being full again
@Floss, yes that was my plan but unfortunately I don't think any of the plastic tubs are big / tall enough to take the stuff. I have used these tubs for lots of other things but we do have a lot of herbs / spices / cake decorating stuff. For example we have 12 bottles of food dye as well as 4 bottles of food essence, then there are the jars of sprinkles etc and 2 tubs of writing icing. I am scouring the house for something to organise them in
Today I have been trying to sort the spices as above but still to be finished but as I had the spices out I was inspired to make a jackfruit rogan josh for tea from stores which are now easy to see in my makeshift larder. The rain finally stopped by about 7 but I have just left the washing out, it is supposed to be dry tomorrow, we shall see.
Take care everyone6 -
Actually Mrs. S_D, it was only the emails since last September when I helped clear it out. We were trying to find the email from a Lawyer who was sending a royalty check - finally found it. I think it will need to be done on a monthly basis. Whe I finished there were only 8 e-mails that needed to be saved.
Dog managed to downsize several buckets that were still in the backyard. I am still fishing pieces of one out of the pool. However. I wasn't expecting to downsize them - but the dog had other ideas. One had potting soil in it so other roommate whose dog it actually is was out sweeping it up earlier.
We don't get snow here. That is why Walt Disney picked it for the first Disneyland. Supposedly it snowed in 1942, but no one can find the picture. We don't even get much rain - from now until October none is expected, which is why we are under drought conditions. I water my herbs, veggies, and geraniums plus a couple of other plants and one tree - but that is all we have here - grass has been dead for a long time.
Been spending a lot of time doing genealogy for several people and writing a book, updating three others, so not much is getting done on actual cleaning - just the normal picking up and putting away. I sort the mail daily and most of mine goes directly into the trash bin. No build up there. I thinking this is furball time for the shedding cats. Cleaning up a couple every few days. Trying to keep on top of my stuff even if the roommates don't.7 -
Early start this morning. Emptied one portion of a triple wardrobe, took 6 bags of clothes to clothes bank at supermarket and then another bag of books dropped onto charity bookshelves.Edited to say went back and did another third and another 6 bags to charity bin and and another bag of books dropped off. Also brought home a pile of shampoo and conditioners that DD2 can work her way through.6

Took a lot of stuff to the dump today. It wasn’t all new as our dump isn’t open on a Tuesday or Wednesday so have to save it up. @Liverpool_Anne’s post reminded me there was some laminate in the garage so I pulled that out to take. The miniature bottles from a couple of days ago. 30 minutes in the loft, yielded a large cardboard box which had barely anything in it, a couple of old laptop bags, some broken picture frames and some gloves. Also took a broken swing ball to the dump.
I still own my MIL house in Dorset and I have someone who wants to buy it…so I will have to empty that as well. Glad I can sell it but sad as well. It is mostly clear of tut but there are the eaves and a cupboard that we left to do “later”🤦♀️ (About 3 years ago)
Any ideas what I can do with an old portable telly?? Do you think anyone would take it if I put it on freecycle?Enough money to live on so retired early...planning to see where life takes me:D6
